Was going to go with the Barton, but then decided on the traditional pistol grip. Although instead of the original wood grain look, it's made of quality carbon fiber and got it from mr. Norm's online store. It looks great in my SRT8 and other than the carbon fiber, is so much more authentic than the factory one was. They did a good job of recreating the '70 interior in the '08 to 14s as well. But there were a few things that didn't match the original, and the shifter is one of them
@@dodgehemi5045 I wish I did, I would just prefer if they had one closer to the old style Pistol grip like the Hurst, Put the Barton is light years ahead of the bottom end of the Hurst.
Brewers Performance sells the gunslinger hurst shifter. It is the same good ol’ classic hurst pistol grip shifter your talking about that has been modified to fit the stock Challenger shifter assembly, which means it will also work on the Barton shifter assembly. That is the setup I’m running on my Challenger and it’s the best thing ever.
Owned a scat pack challenger now for a couple months... my only real complaint is how “clunky” the shifter is... any kind of bump in the road can throw off your shift, I find my self going from 1st to 4th way too often and I feel like 4th to 5th is about a mile apart... I’m gonna switch out the shifter this month for sure... I’ve only heard good things about Barton... can’t wait to see the difference
You might just need practice if you shifting from 1st to 4th lol. The scat pack shifter is superior to anything from 08-14. but i agree with 4 to 5th its such a slow shift
Yeah you might just need some practice I was in every gear but the right gear when I first got my widebody but now I rarely miss a shift. 4th to 5th is long and to 6th is too I feel like I'm standing up shifting but fun as hell lol
I was speaking with someone from the North Jersey MOPAR Club, they were stating that I could use my stock shift handle, is this not correct. I definitely want to get a more solid feel to my shifts. Where can I go to find a reputable installer in North Jersey?
I was more referring to when you are really getting into it, i know you say it has heavy speings to prevent moneyshifting but im trying to see if not only does it reduce that risk and also the play on the shifter when you are in gear
Might be a stupid question but do you get scared during shifts that you might hit the go fast button. I have been looking into a window switch but hate electronics. I want to do the button but was getting your input. Also if it wasnt for you I would have spent money out my but. I changed my challenger transmission to the rpm what a difference. I will add a post to that about what went wrong with mine.
I had the same issue with my Hurst, use the stock rear bushing. Also plenty of dynomat. BTW Challenger shift gates go loosy goosy like a freaking VW Beatle after a few years.
I love all your vids and they are the reason why I went Hurst. I want to try a Barton now in my 2015, but for throwback factor, I really love my pistol grip both in homage to the 70's Challengers and the mean look it has in my car. Is it possible to keep the Hurst stick and pistol grip and use all of Barton's assembly? Thanks in advance. I have a handmade and dyed Hurst grip that I love, and I do love my Hurst, but I want that more positive shift and especially the quiet and firmness. Thanks again!
thnx for the video - i've heard nothing but GLOWING reviews of this shifter. i just wish they didn't read BARTON all over them. i want a stealth shifter without the ball. that a nitro switch button on the ball?
Great review. Just got a '17 Challenger Hellcat and this will be my first mod. Thanks.

Just picked one up for my 16 SPS. Can't wait to install and as you said, "turn some fuel into noise"!
I have this set up. I am very happy with it. Easy install, quick shifts, and it feels nice. Mine is black with red accents.
I wasnt planing on modding my 2013 SRT but as much as I love shiffing the gears I know this will help with that.
Truth! Baton shifter is a must have! I got it and LOVE it! I just wish they offered an ole style pistol grip/ Stalk with that moper forward bend.
Barton has pistol, u don't like

Bought one two days ago for my srt 392. Cant wait to put it in there!
Thanks for your informative videos. Waiting on my Challenger to arrive and this is likely my first upgrade.
Damn that pull at 4:55 sounded insane!

Not sure of the year but there is a skip shift on the challenger...sometimes 2nd is locked out if you are casually driving.
Thanks just ordered on for my hellcat
bout to order mine haha he literally just pushed it forward and it went to 3rd thats GAME CHANGING
I have one in my 2016 hellcat and love it.
Very nice video - something I might do. But what are you driving? I see the boost gauges in the windshield pillars...
Looks like a pre 2015 Dodge Challenger RT.
I’m looking to do the hurst theme. Can I use the hurst shift arm with Barton shifter setup.
I don't think so, at least not without a lot of modification.

So with the spring loaded 2 to 3, does that mean that it makes if dificult or impossible to shift from 2 to 1?
No problemo there, nice a butter smooth.

@@Koolaid5583 No you are stronger than the mild asst spring. You will like the gentle asst. for real.
after the oil catch can, this will be my second upgrade
Did your track e/t's get a lil quicker?....plus is the install easy for a non mechanic kind of guy?
Some, but a lot of that was from practice. It's an easy install but if you have meat hooks for hands you may need help as it's a tight space.
Do you have a nitrous button on your shifter 🫡
That was a line lock button.

what are the gauges on the side of the window? and where did you get it?
Look for a video on my channel called "Performance Gauges"
Good video
Just installed barton in my Hellcat- very disappointed
noise from the transmission reminds me an old dump truck i was driving 15 years ago

@@Sky1 like a vw Beatle lolol that's bad ! I remember those
Don’t know if I want to try this but don’t want to pay shop either.
Hmmm. And here I was thinking I was done with mods. Goodbye Hurst. Hello Barton. Thanks for the info!

+D3X1M3REMIXED Yep, they have an option to use a pistol grip or stock grip if you want.
will this fit a 2016 hellcat?
Yep.
Help! Mine makes a slight noise. The shifts are good but I hear a slight rattle when accelerating
My stock has done that since brand new
Will this void warranty

Amazing videos man!
hurst was good years ago but now its made in china junk, barton is amazing, my viper and trans am have hurst and my mustang has a barton, years ahead
