Marty have a nice trip, I know you will bring us along on your Journey. Can't wait. I really enjoy your innovation, it's the Family Handyman magazine was designed or portrayed about you. I know you have done various jobs, and carpenter by trade. Instead of buying something that costs a lot, you create a simple solution to make it work. Makes me think of some things around that need hanging.
We Electricians use a pvc heater- a heat box- it works great heating up pvc. for bending . If you kept your shop it would make a good investment. Nice work Marty
Can't wait for "our" trip to get started! Thanks again Marty! I'm not even a fisherman or a kayaker....more of a land yacht for me (motorhome) but still can't wait for the story to unfold.
We get the most incredible ideas when we tune in. You can create anything. Thanks for sharing this one. So many ideas came to mind. Happy New Year and keep us in the loop on your trip!!
Zoffinger you are the MAN...and I am glad to subscribe and follow if it helps you along your journey as I know you have helped with with plenty of boat knowledge...so THANK U!!!
It's funny because you say "ready for adventure?" and I'm like... well since I came across your channel like seven years ago it has been nothing but excitement and adventure! LOL
Always look for big box dealt grinder sales. Actually own 3 that are equipped with different wheels on them. Saves loads of time not having to switch out. Made shelve that holds them by the screw in handle so they stack nice.
At some point along the way when you are doing a project do a video on your tool kit that you took.......Thanks for the shirt and I hope the new motor situation goes well.
The great loop takes about a year (depending how fast you travel), about 140 travel days @45 MN a day. Some do the travel days non-stop, some travel slower....
Good idea. hows about something to keep the line from falling out. In my experience with my small sail boat, once it is over the side it is gone for good.
My grand parents did the great loop back in 2015 I rode with them for about half of it I rode from Chesapeake bay through New York past the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson. What kinda power do you have?
Gasoline is hard to find on the Mississippi there's nothing but diesel docks. I had a friend who would call taxis to shuttle him to the gas station and back.
as an electrician, after heating, i hold the shape and dip it into the owners pool, or the ocean will work. and, instantly it freezes into the bend. spray some cold water on it
Hey Marty can u post the marinas you going to be at if u come around the Intercoastal of Houma Louisiana let me know because he's in Marina right there by Terrebonne General medical Center Would love to meet up An talk about Kayck. Fishing
Just an fyi, that PVC is not UV stable. The sun light will degrade it and make it brittle. I would advise painting any of those hooks that are in direct sunlight.
Has the dogs figured out how to pee and-- on the front of the boat in that grass? I was wondering if u pick up some of it on the banks and spread some on the grass they would see what it’s for
“It is dangerous to cut it this way” as he is barefoot working with power tools :) lol Edit: wait a couple years??!! Woah that’s dedication what if you get broken into when ur out at sea? Anyway just a thought and good luck 😮 Edit 2: also nice boat love that you chose retro!! 👍👍
Great update Marty! The hanging hooks turned out real good. Interesting to see you using that Rockwell Jawhorse - I've had a similar thing for years here in the UK called Superjaws, made by Triton Tools from Australia, and I'm led to believe their design was the original one! Keep 'em coming, stay safe & well! 👍👍 ua-cam.com/video/GF2M9GCwRr8/v-deo.html
With already being in Florida. Why would you want to make the trip North. I can think of a thousand places in south Florida and all of the island chains from the Bahamas to the USVI that has calmer waters and waters that are not polluted. Once you hit the Mississippi river you will then be in the most polluted river in the United States. The great lakes are treacherous. But I will be watching anyway. Maybe I'm missing something
Getting back to you old ways. Love it and can’t wait to ride along on your epic journey.

Agree, come over to Green Bay, Wisconsin too!
Zoffinger you are the MAN...and I am glad to subscribe and follow if it helps you along your journey as I know you have helped with with plenty of boat knowledge...so THANK U!!!
Only DAYS AWAY, Marty...... trip of a lifetime. Hell..... even I am a lil excited for you. Are you getting anxious?
Great project. Looks super easy. Thanks for sharing!
It's funny because you say "ready for adventure?" and I'm like... well since I came across your channel like seven years ago it has been nothing but excitement and adventure! LOL
Another great ingenious Marty project that just works!
Best of luck on your journey! You deserve the experience!
I sure bet you’re are going to miss that workshop.

Now I can turn all my PVC into something else, Thank You Marty!!!
Maybe you can hook up with peeps along the way to let you use their shops.
At some point along the way when you are doing a project do a video on your tool kit that you took.......Thanks for the shirt and I hope the new motor situation goes well.
Awesome,....excited for the send off!!!! Cheers Marty!
Marty you're a genius you remind me of well....ME....
Wow it’s gonna take a couple years that’s crazy

You had such a cool little business there, sorry to see it go, but I understand!
Boat looks all set for a long journey! Very pup friendly! What’s the black cans on the bow for? Water, gas?
Great idea, ill be sure to make one of these for my bass boat to. 😄
Nice first view and like. Always enjoy your videos 🤙🏻
Gotta love Marty
Wherever your going, if you go to Maine you will get incredible tuna fishing and good shark fishing
You should make more of those PVC and the building more for your paddles on your boat
Great tip Marty!
Thank you!
Meriam Webster dictionary defines finagling as “the sort of thing Marty would do”. Right on right on.
Awesome idea! Was wondering what kind of netting is that around sides and front railing?
I'm excited for you Marty!
You got me on the "Clampett" reference LOL!
Awesome workshop
Looking forward to this big trip marty!!(:
Did I hear you say "our" Great Loop voyage will take us a couple of years? OKAY I can handle that and I am ready to cast off as of now!😊👍
I thought you were talking about the OTHER boat hook. The one attached to a pole to let you reach out and grab a line or mooring ball.
Marty, you’re going to go into withdrawals leaving your shop tools behind! 😂
Good idea. hows about something to keep the line from falling out. In my experience with my small sail boat, once it is over the side it is gone for good.
His boat isn't going to list like your sailboat. I highly doubt those lines will ever have a chance to fall off.
Are you going to have any schedule for the ports you'll visit? when you come to NC, I might make the trip to the coast to see you and the dogs.
Go Zoffi! 👍👍👍
You going to go from Brownsville to Boston?
Let's go! Im ready for adventure!
My grand parents did the great loop back in 2015 I rode with them for about half of it I rode from Chesapeake bay through New York past the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson. What kinda power do you have?
Safe travel Marty enjoy and Happy New Year!!!
Yup doing that for my welding leadd
Cant wait till you make it to Long Island ny
Good luck, stay safe
im at the airport in denver rn good job!
If you happen to get by Topsail Island, NC, I'd love to get up with you and pick your brain about a project!
I like the 1994 SNES donkey Kong music
Awesome ! Liked w/o even watching first.👍🏻
Don’t forget to paint your pvc. The sun will destroy it.
Are you doing the loop solo? I may be doing it solo in a year or two.
Haha😀😀 love the “Clampit” reference!!!
Hope you carry some of your power tools with you .
I'm curious as to where you are going to and then once you get there are you going to be coming back to the Keys
Gasoline is hard to find on the Mississippi there's nothing but diesel docks. I had a friend who would call taxis to shuttle him to the gas station and back.
I love it when he goes into chipmunk mode 😁😁😁
Utilize the power of the hook!
When are you taking your trip?
Yeah let’s get going
Come to Seaford Long Island....
Love your videos question: are you going to live stream when you make a stop on your journey?
He mentioned that yesterday yes.
@@marks.c4753 With how unsmooth that stream was yesterday, I'm not sure he's going to be able to, but you're right; he did say he would try to do so.
as an electrician, after heating, i hold the shape and dip it into the owners pool, or the ocean will work. and, instantly it freezes into the bend. spray some cold water on it
Hey, are u coming through the Great Lakes?
What are you going to do with the dogs during the great loop?
Cant wait to get on road..or on sea :)
Can you also use your famous Starboard to make that J hook?
Good video
Are you coming up the Chesapeake
LOL, that is exactly what I was thinking when you said clamp it.....:P Question: What kinds of hand and power tools are you bringing?!
The suspence!!!

Im in Vero Beach Florida 5 mins from the ocean. If you let me know when your near I would like to meet and say hello.
If ya stop down here in Port Charlotte let me know, I would love to meet you!
He's already by Tampa. Just take the short drive to Zoffingers.
@@PetesCreativeRecycling He has to go south to get around Florida. Ya know as in going up the east coast.
@@onlyychevys the east coast is where he enters the ICW... he's not going any more around than Gulf, Keys, then into the ICW.
@@PetesCreativeRecycling Dude, he is just north of me!
@@onlyychevys EXACTLY! drive to him instead of asking if he's going to stop right after starting.

Dang I can smell plastic burning everywhere now
Here we go adventure time .
Excellence!
If you left the end of the hook curved over items would stay more secure.
I highly doubt Kon-Tiki is going to be listing like a sailboat lol
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE

He's not going out to sea. The "great loop" is nearly all inshore. Look it up, it's pretty cool!
@@PetesCreativeRecycling huh thanks that’s interesting!
i hope you go west next time... California, Nevada , Utah area..
Probably tough to get there by water only.
Make sure drilling into that metal won’t cause a rust. Reseal it
YO HO HO & A BOTTLE OF RUM...NICE !
Sweet

You need a belt sander
If you HAVEN'T sold the paddleboat I have cash
👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
He said clamp it
hi marty
These are hooks on a boat, but they're not boathooks.
you spent 20 secs on the disc. another minute about sanding and grit... BORING!
