I wonder if you could get access to a good sized Pelton wheel if you could generate more power. Your abilities to engineer and work with mortar and concrete is amazing.
What is needed thinking. Proper thinking . Atleast minimum education is enough for ideas .... Something in everything ....Patience and ideas best tools.....Very good good video .

Dig the exit from the sluce deeper and direct the water flow across the top of the wheel. The new Overshot wheel will give twice the power for the same amount of water. The only other change you will need to do is turn the wheel through 180 degrees so the scoops are reversed.
Digging the tail race deeper would not work unless the river level drops away to a lower level. It’s the surface level of the head race compared to the surface level of the tail race which matters
That’s brilliant. The only way I think you could up the power would be to change the 2 pulley drives for chain drives, they cause far less friction and would up the power output! ❤
Is electricity powering the little hatch? If so, why is there a need for the water wheel to generate more electricity? Otherwise, this project looks great!

Most everybody was making some very fine comments about the fine workmanship which seem to be excellent but there is one potential issue that I see. That is what happens when it starts to rain during the monsoon? When you have to lower the level of water in your Reservoir do to the increase of water volume. I think you've created the potential for a flooding nightmare! Butother than that I really like it! Thanks Bob from Virginia USA
Not what happens when it rains ? Doesnt your installation get flood and the fields around ? What do your neighbors downstream think of you interrupting the flow ? And what about natural life around ?

This is great Mr Construction general. You are very creative. I would like to ask that; why is there no direct connection from the turbine to the motor( generator)? What are the effects of connecting the generator direct to the turbine?
Doing it the way he did increases the number of rotations on the generator which increases the amount of power produced. Going directly from water wheel to motor, he'd get a 1:1 rotation. Meaning every time the water wheel rotates once, the generator rod also only spins once. But by throwing a large wheel on the water wheel and having it spin a small wheel on the rod, then a large wheel on that rod to a small wheel on the generator gives him about 30 rotations on the motor for each rotation of the water wheel.
I would be more impressed if he took his waterfall charging station and used Just One battery and set up a hydrogen water separator so it could use the hydrogen gas to cook his food or even power his car I've seen many videos from India and Mexico and Lower South America that where they make their own fuel and direct hydrogen injection if the plumbing is done right not cheaply are half ass it works fine you cut corners it'll detonate in your face
