Becky, Thank you so much for this visit. I haven't tried long arm quilting...yet! But Lauren is a wealth of information and ideas. I love the tip about the music while stitching without a stitch regulator. Lauren is young and vibrant and really excited about her passion. I live in a military town so maybe sometime she will be in a shop near me. I thank you and your family as well as all the others who dedicate their lives for our country.

I absolutely loved this video. This was not like watching a video but more like sitting down at the kitchen table and talking with your friends. Lauren is a joy to listen to and you and her together was just a pleasure to watch. I will not be a longarmer, but I now have even more appreciation for all of you longarmers out there!

I'm not a longarmer and don't plan to become one but this was sew interesting.
Lauren's enthusiasm and knowledge is priceless. It is sew nice to see a "youngster" involved in us "older folks" addiction.
    Great job Becky.😁

Finally someone who has the same thoughts on cotton thread that I do. I use prewound bobbins and they are polyester. There is definitely a misconception on cotton thread in my mind. Recently repaired an old quilt and it was the fabric that had disintegrated not the thread. It was made by my mom and she never used cotton thread.
I will be following Bold Notion channel now for sure. :)

Awesome interview! Sew much learning. Not just about longarming but about getting out of (others) box and being so comfortable about being in your own box and comfortable with its size and shape. Very encouraging talk today. We are so fortunate that your box takes us across the country to meet so many others that have our same passions. Thank you Becky and Keith for including us during your vacation time. And Keith please keep the RV swerving down to a minimum while Becky is taping 🤣. Safe journey.

Becky and Lauren I enjoyed this video very much!!!
I watch to understand long arm quilting. I was lost and your detailed patient explanations on technical problems, rulers and design was very helpful.
I now understand a little better the long arm community and their passion. I mostly quilt tops and embroider.
Thanks again for the video and encouragement!

I am not a longarm quilter but have several friends who are so I'll make sure they know about Lauren's shop, if they don't already know. She , and her shop, are very impressive.

Becky- if you want your border designs to work out exactly, use adding machine tape measure it and fold it in 1/2 then 1/2 again and keep folding until it is the size you want your design. Use the fold lines to mark your design blocks.

You touched on something here. I bought a Gammill about a. year ago. It is almost impossible to learn how to free motion quilting on your own. I've watched videos and tried. I need hands on. Not all people can teach. So many people try to teach on regular sewing machine does not necessarily cross, different. My husband is driving me crazy trying to make me quilt on an expensive machine. I am military wife, last iID card they finally put "indefinite" for expiration! Lauren, you are one amazing young woman, continued success!

I only a few min in this video and I have a desire to learn free motion quilting. I sew on a very old phaff 360 machine that I inherited. I have only seen a moxie sit down machine which is around $5000. I recently thought that I could try the darning foot for my machine and buy some quilting rulers like Angela Walters and try to teach myself to do simple projects. I have tried dropping the feet and the tension is not right on something so I will just keep them up for now. I live in Indiana and there are no shops here that teach long arm classes. In fact when I have inquired in the local quilt shops they get offended because they just want me to have them quilt my quilt or buy a machine and then i can attend classes. So I will watch and hopefully get some answers.
