The light grey wins in my eye.
Thanks for sharing!
We did ours all ready, I have a buisness day care. We owe as usual
All you fabric is so pretty, I would like them just to collect, to pretty to cut.
Mail. Lol I’m in the Detroit area, there are some days we don’t even have mail delivery in our little neighborhood. Our mailman is great…he only does what he is told. And it’s horrible when he’s on vacation.
Thank you!
I enjoyed this video! thank you
The dark dot will look great as the binding for the train quilt with the light dot as the backing!
I love that doggone chicken quilt. Those chickens are so darn cute. Went gaga over that last stack of fabric. Had to keep my fingers away from the order button. Keep up that’s my blog!!!! Have a great day. Love your videos. PS signed for class!
OMG...I would bop the hubby calling you administrative assistant....lol
I’m from Queensland Australia too
Taxes. Ugh. Would love to avoid it but alas cannot. Love the different fabric collections.
Becky, I received a Christmas card from my sister on March 8, 2022, it was mailed to me on December 17, 2021. She lives in Texas and I live in Maryland. Yep, the USPS needs improvement.
I am embroidery initials on the word background with Elffie by Deb
It’s the usps everywhere! Blame the guy running the it.
I hear you on taxes. Have 2 business with employees. I dread this time of year. Right up there with cleaning bathrooms. 😭
I agree I hate to get all my stuff together....
You are a hoot wish I knew you
Yikes, it is snowing here in Suffolk County, NY. Winds are crazy and it is 30 degrees but it feels kind of is much colder. Hands freeze when just outside for seconds. Yuck!
I just finished the Deb Strain quilt it turned out so cute !!
See if you can find a train track fabric for the back of Thomas the Train quilt.
Beautiful card. Love the sparkles🥰
I love all the fabric in the bundle with the linework foxes...the material has a very folkart vibe. Sooo cute! Your video popped up first thing this morning. Nice that we could have coffee together this morning. Lol
The lighter gray is sooo much better than the dark one.
Fun chat! After a day of playing in my sewing room with my crumbs, I get to watch your video! Thank you for your inspiration, your art and positive energy!
We have the same issue with our post office . It’s 7 miles away but I use the branch that’s 20 miles away
I have the same issue in northeast Maryland. They told me I was dead to my face, so now I have a post office box in NJ even though I live in MD.
No problem getting mail any more.
I am surprised you did not go to the Dallas Quilt Show I saw the pics on Facebook.
I thought about it but I've got so many stitching obligations, I couldn't fit it in my schedule!
I love that Effie’s fabric. Working on a quilt using the panel also. It is so precious
That cactus fabric would be darling in a kitchen!
That cactus fabric would be so cute in your kitchen as potholders, placemates, etc.
Becky, I’m not sure if you have listened to the podcast “Quilt and Tell” but Tracey mentioned she found you on UA-cam. I sent her an email asking they have you on their podcast. I hope they contact you as you would be an awesome guest.
Someone else mentioned this and I went and took a listen. She even said, "We should have her on". That would be fabulous. What an honor. Thank you for recommending me!!
Oh the baby panel is adorable!! I'm working on baby stuff for our first grandson! Bless you on the tax stuff... Totally relate right now.
I love to see this type of video. Thanks!
Becky, de-stash is on Saturday not Tuesday. Just a little info 😊
Yeah, I couldn't remember...that's why I hesitated. As soon as I said it I was literally, "I think that's on Saturdays". lol Thanks!
Maybe put letters & numbers material so it can be a learning quilt also
Love the kit fabrics❤️
The card was worth the wait, it is beautiful.
Absolutely! It's so pretty and the camera didn't do it justice.
The card was made by a friend. What a surprise today to see it on PTWT.
Yes very cute & beautiful fabric! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
I’m in the same boat as you concerning the taxes. It always puts me in a bad mood.
That animal fabric is way cute. I love it. I would use Minky for the back of the child’s quilt.
Great video!
Post office drudge isn’t just in your little town. 🤦🏻♀️🙄 Our utility company goes so far as to put out a notice telling customers they know there’s an issue with the mail, but it doesn’t excuse you for paying late. 😂
The Post Office personnel, not all but a huge majority-Civil service-are lackadaisical. They do not care! Because they have a guaranteed job! It is impossible to fire a Civil Service employee. And, it is like that all over the Postal system. I put a vacation hold on my mail for 3 days…2 weeks later I finally got my mail! So, I too use the small business owners for the UPS Store, the FedEx and mail. And all my utilities, etc. All online. Not automatic because I want to know before it is paid what the cost is going to be.
I love making patches. I like making them on my MB4 I have made thousands of them. When I first started my business. That is how I paid for my first machine. I made a video on how to do it.
My sister's name is Effie. She was named after my grandmother
Understand taxes...we are ranchers, landlords and retired. Taxes are a headache. But we get a lot of benefits also....like living in USA
Yep, as my FIL used to say, "Paying taxes is a privilege". :)
Yes, I would use the lighter fabric for the backing. The dark would be great for a binding.
Signed up!!
Great fun opening your packages with you. Go get your tax papers collected so that you can sew.
Love the new lighting and I can tell you are shedding pou ds...congrats! I am fasting from buying new fabric for Lent so it is extra exciting to watch you drool over your new purchases...now on to getting g taxes done! Thanks Becky!
Grey is perfect, scrape binding would be great
That fabric is seeww seeww cute! The colors are fabulous!
Hey, I'm going to put in a word for the baby quilt backing. "MINKIE" is the favorite in my family. It comes in 60 inch width and will be loved by the whole family. I'm sure you can quilt it waith no problem on a long arm. It does look best quilted closer than other quilts but the texture is beautiful. Gingiber fabrics are so pretty!
The dots matter I think are called hole punch
TockCustom has a tutorial on patches!
Hi Becky I would put Shannon Fabric cuddle on the back of the train quilt You can also use it for the binding I love your videos. Now go sew something. I'm in NH and we are getting snow this afternoon so I'll go sew something :-)
That's a great idea. I normally don't think of cuddle because it's so stinkin' hot here most days.
Yes We send ours to a CPA that's the way for less stress! I love to make patches. only made a few but ready to learn more from you and Dime!! and beautiful fabrics. getting my Sew Yeah order today!!
We have a friend that lived in Argentina for two years, stealing from the mail is considered a perc of the job. You could never send jeans, tee shirts or name brand shoes.
Hey Patty! Wow you sure know how to fill up a vlog! Wow, great stuff you have. The quilt kit you got from Sew Yeah? The fabric is very reminiscent of Native American designs and drawings to me, especially the suns and the foxes. Have a great time putting that together. I'll be eager to see the results. Take care, be safe in your travels, and don't break down in Houston again? (LOL) ~~ Hugs, Lynne
All signed up for the DIME patch party, love learning how to do new things with embroidery, thank you 😊
I have this same longarm combination and love the system!!!
Train quilt, dark back and lighter thread with train’s pattern for a fun back
I need that T-shirt! Where can I get it? I should get a different color for every day.
Love your channel. You are very real. That is one of the many reasons I come back time after time and see what you are up to.
Totally understand the taxes thing. We send stuff to our accountant every year, and low and behold, I too have to collect it all. I am ahead of them because I collect it and scan it all in and store it so … when they send the hubs an e-mail “we need blah, blah, blah…it was not sent”. Funny thing…look and read…you have the info. Try looking at page XX … I think that looks just like what your are looking for. The hubs will not let me talk to them because, silly me, I expect them to open and read the file (broken out into labeled sections) before telling me, or the hubs, I did not send XXX. Ugh! They are very good but they need to read first. Or at least look at the check list. Hmmm 🤔 maybe this year I will create a table of contents…Ha ha ha…nah, I doubt it will be read.
I make my patches with merrowly from embrilliance. I'm excited to see what stabilizers that dime suggests. Love to learn from you Becky
Thomas the tank engine stories were first written in 1945 in UK. TV programmes started in 1984. Massively popular. Loads of other trains. Percy, Gordon, Toby , Edward and James. There is also an Emily. Almost all are steam. They don’t like the ‘Dirty Diesels’. Wonderful simple stories with messages of kindness and been helpful.
Thomas. Number1. Blue
Edward. Number2. Blue with red stripes
Henry. Number 3. Green
Gordon. Number4. Blue with red front and stripes. Big a d strong. Pulls the heavy loads.
James. Number 5. Red
Percy. Number 6 Light green with red stripes
Toby. Number 7. Brown Tram
There are loads more and the carriages they pull are all named too.
I think the author was a Church pastor/Rev. His son also wrote with him.
Lovely quilt. Love your channel
Thank you! My son was born in 1985 and he was more the Ninja Turtle kind as a boy and I just don't recall Thomas the Train when he was that young so we never got into it. My grandsons both love the stories. Perhaps it took a generation or so to get over here in the US. Now I'm smart on Thomas the Train!
Some of the TV versions of Thomas the Tank Engine were narrated by Ringo Starr.
Yes. I forgot about Ringo. They do ice shows in Ireland and uk. Sold out 12 months in advance and more. Went to the one in Dublin. My sister took her 2 boys. Wanted to go in 2006 but sold out. Got the tickets for the following year. It was amazing. So funny seeing the Fat Controller pretending to fall and get back up. Reminded me of Bambi. The simplicity of it is great. Bob the builder is another great one. Can he do it? Yes he can!!!!!! I’m 57 by the way!!!!!!
Beautiful fabrics. The cactus fabric would be great for your DBJJ mug rugs with the cactus sketch designs 😍 Thanks for the show n tell, now off to spend more money 🤣
That's exactly what I was thinking!
Just ❤️ fabric from Deb Strain! Is that maybe a spaniel on the bottom? Gotta ❤️ Sew Yeah I missed that night as I would have bought the dots as well. 😊 what a Beautiful Quilt and fabric is Awesome 🤩 Maybe good I wasn’t on show that night!
Love to buy! Still can’t get FM quilting yet. I’m no good, that is why I have 20+ quilts done and none quilted lol Your chats always cheer me up
Woodland critters looks like Tula Pink fabric
How long is your new Grace long arm frame? It looks nice and long.
This frame is only 10 feet. My last one was 12 and it was just too long for my needs.
Just wanted to share an idea. Many years ago I was a Tupperware Manager. I had brown envelopes labeled with each month. I would put all receipts for the month in their respective envelope. At the beginning of the next month I would go through receipts and list them by category on a legal pad. When finished I stapled it to the envelope. I did this every month and then at tax time I took them to the accountant. A little time each month to organize was so much easier than doing a whole year at a time. Good luck with the taxes.
I LIKE this idea! I'm a micro-organizer like that too. I have a over-the-door hanging file with 4 spots and I was pretty good about putting things where they go throughout the year. But now on the table, I've got 12 piles! Go figure.
Could you use some of the panels as backing on the foxes, etc. quilt?
Great idea!
Becky it’s funny that you mentioned using your hour method to tackle your taxes. I was going to suggest that. One thing you may want to c Consider is a monthly expandable folder. There you could put your bank statements ,receipts and utilities by month and it wouldn’t be such a task at the end of the year. Maybe set a hour out of the month to work on it. I work for an accountant and also on occasion help my friend who owns a quilt shop get her stuff together. You just need to break it down to smaller segments so you are not overwhelmed at the end of year. Kinda like a quilt you put in timeout because it’s too much to tackle at one time. I am excited for you to work with Grace. I have a Qnique 15 on a majestic frame. They don’t make the frame any longer. Thanks for all you do to inspire us.
Great ideas! Thank you!
Amen sister, my hubby does the taxes, but have you ever been asked what this is you bought six months ago or was this for charity.
😄
When I got notice video had no sound. Went out and searched on UA-cam. Then had sound
Look up Gloria Horn Sewing Studio very good classes on the Design center.
Love how you get Excited about quilting. signed up for the patch class.
Awesome! See you there!
Hi Becky. I input tax returns for a CPA and she highly recommends using Quick books Online to keep all your business records throughout the year. I'm also a Treasurer for a non-profit and I use Quickbooks Online for their accounting. It is easy to learn, especially someone with your IT background. Just thought I'd drop a comment to you. Maybe next year tax season won't be as stressful for you. :)
Aren't you sweet? Would you believe I already HAVE QuickBooks Online for the storage lot? Yep, all the invoicing and accounts receivable go in there and expenses come out and are logged already. I love that I can just give her a password and she goes in online and get what she needs. If I didn't have that system, there's no way I could make videos! lol All I'd do all the time is bookkeeping! But we don't have QB for PTWT or personal taxes. The hard part is making sure I have all the statements for the 3 bank accounts, phone, internet x 2, electric, water x 2, trash x2, etc. that back up what's in the QB and receipt expenses for the accounts without QB. It's crazy. And of course, all those companies want to go paperless and then trying to make sure I have an account to login with the right email and password... It's NUTS.
@@PowerToolsWithThread I am so glad to hear you have QBO for some of your businesses. You are right about all the receipts and record keeping that is needed for businesses. I've input 80+ returns, to date, and I've created spreadsheets, for many clients, to record and segregate all the different incomes, expenses, gains/losses, etc, in hopes they will maintain them going forward, to make next year easier for all. It is crazy. I wish you much speed and little stress getting your tax info together this year. I so enjoy your videos (watching them are my guilty pleasure during tax season) and hope you have time to make more.
Would you consider doing a patch tutorial with what is learned with Dime to apply to Embrillance?
Oh, I'm sure I'll do one some day when I need a patch. :)
Mine did that no stream also then after a few tries it came on
Is it possible to purchase the shirt you have on in this video? Love it!
I don't remember where I got it. I just google sewing tshirts and they come up like crazy.
Mine says No stream Tap to retry
You're too quick! It was just pushed at that moment. :)
No stream
I think you were looking at it RIGHT when it went live on UA-cam and the stream hadn't caught up with the servers yet!
I live in a small town in Alabama outside of the Army Base Ft. Rucker. Anyway, we have 1 quilt shop in Ozark, AL and besides Joann's and Hobby Lobby the only place we can buy fabric and machines locally are at the Dothan Sewing Center and the Enterprise Sewing Center. Well, I have purchased all my machines there and they just became Grace Dealers. I order my Qnique 21 and 12 foot continuum II frame from them and they came to set it up. I was talking to the manager of the Dothan store "Jeff" and telling him how you had just become a Grace ambassador. He said oh my goodness. Do you know how many phone calls we get a day about her embroidery kits etc. So apparently you are REALLY popular down here. Anyway, I thought it was funny.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing that with me. I love helping out the local stores. If customers call or go in looking for something I showed, then they are the beneficiary of me talking about whatever it is and maybe then some if the shopping bug hits. Tell Jeff I said Hi next time you see him! lol :) Love to help out the local quilt shops!
Hi Becky I really love your videos. I noticed that you were using the Thomas (the train) the tank engine as it is know in the UK. Themed fabric.
The series of book that the trains come from is called the Railway series and Thomas has become the most popular character. The series of books were written by the Rev. Wilbert Awdry and later his son Christopher. They have also been the theme of children’s videos and merchandising in the UK for a number of years. They are always called by the characters’ name of Thomas the tank engine. I thought you might be interested to know the author was a Reverend as your son is also a reverend. Thank you once again for your enjoyable and helpful programs.
I love this. I share it with him. Thank you!
Love the T-shirt! Where can I buy one?
I wanted to sign up but working at that time so not sure if can still see video demonstrations after if I sign up.
Yes you sure can! The event will be available for 48 hours after the live.
@@PowerToolsWithThread thank you Becky
Still waiting on my software from Allbrands! It was mailed Feb 23 and its been sitting 2 hours from me the last 12 days with the US postal Service!! I think its lost.
😫🙄
Hi Becky love your show! How do I get your tee shirts?
I just google "sewing t-shirts" and loads of them come up.
I had my parents Christmas card come back this year!!!! Like I don’t know my parents address! Lazy people everywhere! Just sad….
Hi Becky. Where did you get the pattern for your mug rug? I'm talking about the one that has "Cutie" on it. Thank you for all you do!!❣
That's a combo of a Bella Box exclusive from Kimberbell (the sewing machine) and my own thought of This Spot Reserved for CUTE!
Thank you. ⚘
That green train is actually Percy. Henry has a fatter older looking face. My grandson lived and breathed Thomas when he was younger and we watched every video and had all the trains in wood, metal and plastic
I was saying the same thing. Lol my son is 34 years old and I still know all the trains
Becky, what is the brand of the gray fabrics you showed for possible use on the Thomas the Train quilt? Thanks
Here you go! bit.ly/36qXNdn
Hi Becky! Can you tell me what the repeat is on the floral Gingiber fabric from the SewnYeah kit? I have been looking for a fabric with a 24” repeat for a project. I love this floral, but can’t find out what the repeat is. Thanks!
Looks like it is 8". Could you use it x3? That would give you 24". But no seam allowance.
@@PowerToolsWithThread I have the Orange Dot Quilts Only One pattern. It is
Iike a one block wonder, but you use squares. It asks for a 24” repeat. I used Alison Glass for 2 one block wonders and am looking for something new. Gonna try Anna Maria Horner. Thanks for checking for me. I love that floral!
Please post your tshirt you wear their names & sites. Too many online that don’t appear trust worthy.Ty
Try teemcx. I've ordered from them many times.
Where was the cactus fabric from
Got it here! sewyeahquilting.com/
What is the background fabric you used for the Chicken Salad blocks?
It's called Chicken Tracks from Lori Holt's Farm Girl Vintage line.
Hello, I'm a new subscriber and I have a couple of questions for you please. I love to sew and I feel that I'm fairly good at it. When I was pregnant with my first child I made his entire crib ensemble, curtains, and diaper stacker. I have made some tops and dresses for myself and other household items too. I'm really wanting to get into quilting but someone told me that you have to be really good at geometry. I suck at geometry! Do you feel that that is a correct statement? Thank you.
I failed Geometry in high school. :-) With your garment and home dec sewing background, you'll take to quilting like a duck to water. Jump in! Recommend starting with a Villa Rosa Designs pattern that doesn't have any diagonal seams so you get nesting and the 1/4" seam solidly under your belt. Then start into half square triangles. You'll be a pro in no time. I'd leave a Lori Holt quilt for a future project. Word to the wise... A precut may say it is 10" square or a 2.5" strip but it might not be. Always measure.
@@PowerToolsWithThread Thank you so very much! You have made me very happy. I also failed geometry. LOL
TAXES…. Ack Ack Ack… I know your pain
Do you have a link to sew yeah? Am I spelling it correctly?
Here you go! sewyeahquilting.com/
You need scissors……talk to Pat Sloan…..she has more than 50 pairs of scissors in her sewing room! She counted them this morning! Talk to her. She might be able to spare a pair! LOL!
Becky do you have the link for your shirt. I'll be in my office? Thanks
Sorry no. Recommend just Googling "sewing t-shirts" and they come up. I've yet to persuade a t-shirt company to work with me. (sigh...) You can lead a horse to water....
