    Thank you Becky! I love your videos and always learn something new! You're the best at guiding us "baby step by baby step" and make it so easy to follow along with the project. Because of you and your instructions, I've made projects I never would have attempted on my own! Keep up the great work with all your videos! We need you!! :)

    The placement of the stop hand on the Brother sent me on an internet bunny trail. Brother embroidery machine are made in Taiwan. While mainland China has mostly switched the way language is printed to the read left to right format, Taiwan has maintained the traditional read right to left format. The Brother engineers followed this format. Therefore the hand comes first.

      Yep! I thought that myself and I researched it a bit but I guess I didn't dig as far as you. While the machines are made in Taiwan, I understand that the engineers are Japanese and Japan reads from left to right. I wasn't sure so that's why I just say it is backwards from what you would think and leave it at that. lol Thanks for the info!

      @@PowerToolsWithThread I looked up Japanese first, thinking Brother built machines there. According to one language learning app, both right to left and right to left can be used In Japanese. Assume this has to do with adapting to Western customers and computers and keyboard typing directions as they were first developed

    Thank you, Becky, for this very informative tutorial. I use a Cricut rather than a ScanNCut, but this will save a ton of time for anyone using a cutting machine regardless of brand. I appreciate your time.

      Yes, any cutting machine should definitely be put to use when you've got applique pieces. It's a game changer!

    Brilliant tutorial, thank you! I want the trimmer by George, but shipping to Australia!! Wow, over $100! Can't seem to find it in Australia! Thanks again, I learned so much from this video!

      One of the ladies who joined me on the Sew & Sail Cruise last Jan came from AU and she had me order one for her so she could take it home with her. Where there's a will, there's a way!

    Thanks, Becky! I learned how to use my magic wand - I tried once, but didn't go back to the start of the stitch. I have a question - do you change your needle or anything for the Kingstar metallic thread? I tried using mine for the 1st time on my PR1055X a few days ago, and it would not work!! It never grabbed the bobbin, and I even tried pulling both threads through and holding them. I finally just used a different thread!

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Рік тому

      You must first use the Needle -/+ to go to the the beginning of the stitch, then you can use the magic eand. Odd about your thread. My Kingstar works great on my 1055. No problems at all.

    This is so cool! How big will this topper be if done in a 6x10 hoop. That is my largest hoop. I would love to upgrade my machine, but my husband definitely doesn't favor that. We will see. Thanks for all the teaching you do for us. I have learned so much and become so much more confident in my embroidering journey

    Hi so when you went to the cutter and started cutting out the blue and red pieces, what file did you get from the cloud?

    Do you have a tutorial video that would walk through the color set up for your luminaire?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Рік тому

      I generally use the colors that I want that match my fabric. I rarely, if ever, use the coloring features on the machine. I do this for both the single and multi-needle.

      @@PowerToolsWithThread I'm looking for a video that shows how to embroider all the red, then the blue, then the light blue etc versus each going from color A, to color B, then back to color A. Hope you understand what I mean.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Рік тому

      @@barb1644 Yes, you are talking about color sorting. I have a video for that! But it is using Embrilliance software. I'm not sure how on the machine itself. ua-cam.com/video/5DcfxfwkRJU/v-deo.html

    10 needle question- do you think there is any value or advantage/disadvantage to changing around the spools of thread so the colors used most often don’t wear out one of the needle paths if say “white” was always on needle 1. Does that make sense?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Рік тому

      I don't think so, but I'll ask my tech next time I see him and let you know. I keep White on 6 and Black on 5. That's so I can easily get to the outside spools to change them out.
