holy fucking shit the left/right transition is a fucking auditory depiction of the doomguy running circles around the cyberdemon shooting the shit out of it
Unless you're playing Project Brutality or something and you're facing a cyberdemon with a rocket-launching machine gun on both arms, it's really not that difficult. All you have to do is strafe a lot. Now, if we're talking about Plutonia or one of those community wads that use the cyberdemon as a minor boss in the same way the original game used barons of hell, THEN we're talking.
Go 2 It... This song was perfect for that level. It truly depicted exactly what you were up against. The plutonia experiment was a brutal experience, and Go 2 It was the most difficult level of them all.
I didn't consider Go 2 It as difficult as it was intimidating. I think the cruel traps throughout the main game are more challenging in terms of how you manage them, whereas Go 2 It is more about resource management and a bit of luck.
This song was how I learned to play bass guitar holding a note with my index finger. Lemme tell you, successfully playing through this song the first time felt like punching the cyberdemon to death.
Map 32 Go 2 It made this song ingrained in my brain forever and when I finally beat Go 2 It... I was blown away and years of childhood struggles of doing this map... Is gone forever and I was a changed Doom player ever since that day.

The stereo panning effects is supposed to be emblematic of having to check on both sides to make sure you know from which the Cyberdemon will be making its next turn.
I don’t care if people say the Mastermind is better, the Cyberdemon tops her off. It just seems like a more intimidating boss than the Mastermind especially the fact that it can one shot the player. In fact I actually prefer the Cyberdemon over the hitscan Mastermind
The cyberdemon is stronger than the mastermind (cyberdemon has 4000 health, mastermind has around 2500/3000) so you fight the final boss before the final boss. And if one lost soul gets in your face while your rocketing the cyberdemon, you are fcked.

T431 True. And there is only one set of Mega Armor in the entire level, so once you use it up, you're pretty much screwed.
