You're an extremely talented knitter! I'm so glad I found your channel. I am looking forward to learning all these new techniques. Thank you for sharing your skills in such an effective teaching manner.
Dear Stephen, each time I download your written patterns, I have no regrets . They are so detailed and so, I cannot make a mistake when making a stitch . I see many written patterns, most of them are confusing because of a lack of details. I also enjoy so much watching you when you explain how to knit a stitch, it is formidable! Thank you, thank you and thank you again… I am currently knitting the Briornate shawl , it is a real joy.
I just love watching your tutorials and thank you for making knitting so much fun! Beautiful stitch! Also love and have a chuckle hearing your furbabies snore in the background, they fast asleep. I have 4 staffies that cuddle and nap around me while I do my favorite Westknits projects, a choir of snoring lol 😂
I just wanted to say I really love your energy and presentation style when teaching. It's really engaging and I'll definitely be coming back here for more lessons in the future!
Stephen, Your excitement and enthusiasm always gets me excited and eager to try out what you're teaching me. And your designs are so gorgeous that I'm always wanting to begin that next project. When I first saw your dip stitch projects I thought it was interlac knitting (which I tried a long time ago and was disappointed with the reverse side as I did a scarf). Your dip stitch is just beautiful on both sides. Thank you so much, Stephen. You are the true treasure of any design. 💜✌️🧶
coucou. ce pull est exceptionnel - magnifique - génial. Quelle imagination - création fantastique. J'adore. Vous êtes un grand Maestro. Bravo. Pensées de coeur. Ania
This stitch is so fun and mesmerizing. I can’t wait to try it out when I get my digital download. Thank you for taking the time to make the tutorials. It has really expanded my abilities and confidence. I’m never bored with your patterns!
Thanks for this!! I am a little behind on the MKAL because I had to knit a couple of Christmas presents to post overseas. I have been a bit nervous about starting this section of the shawl. Your video is so thorough and makes it look so easy that I am excited to start it! I am also knitting your Mingling Daisies shawl and it is soooooo beautiful and fun!!
Really lovely❣️ I love enrelac and this has the same feel but so much easier 🙌🏼 Definitely recommend this stitch❣️ Thank you so much again for the clear explanation and inspiration 💙
Stephen introduced the DIP5 in the geogradient shawl, which is knitted on the flat. If you want to use the DIP technique in the flat you can do DIP3 and DIP5 but DIP4 would not be possible.
If you knit the plain stitch first, *before* 15:20 instead of after the dip, could you use k2tog instead of SSK on rd 2? Maybe that would give trouble with working the final dip on rd 1??
OMG! There is actually a stitch called the Dip stitch I’ve been using that term for most of my life to certain people , or was it Dip S…. Confused now😂😂
I'm kinda giggling at how inelegant your demonstrations with English style knitting are, but I can't knit Continental to save my life, so I would probably look much worse, lol Still, I learned how to do a Dip Stitch cuz of you, so I'm not at all complaining XDDD
You can check out the video for Clue 4 of the Geogradient Shawl to see how the dip stitch is worked flat: ua-cam.com/video/JuenVXcnBCA/v-deo.html If you are still having trouble with it, please reach out to our pattern support team at support@westknits.com
@@StephenWest dude I love how sneaky you are when you offer ideas to fix mistakes!!! I also challenge you to make a shawl or blanket with the basket weave stitch! I am learning how to do it and it is so pretty! The pattern I use calls for a multiple of six plus three on each end. Studio knit is the pattern creator. I added the three stitches on the end as a garter border
You could repeat the colors with Dip 5s (or Dip 3s or 7s)to any length you want. Swatch for the longer dips-that would be leaving pretty long floats on the front to maybe catch? Or maybe stunning!! And the other comment is right about odd numbers only for a flat garment because you need an even number of setup rows to create an odd number of holes to dip into.
True that! EDIT: It's the first set of DIPs that is the slowest. Once you've set up the first lot the rest are not quite so slow - although I might be doing a few sneaky insertions and deletions here and there!

You will always be "the Bob Ross of Knitting" In my mind!! 🤩

I love that you take the time to show it really in detail. And your doggies snoring in the background 😍

Thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial! It makes all the difference!!! Great stitch !!
Thank you for taking the time to make these tutorials. Love the dip stitch. You’re right it does look like a crochet stitch. Happy Holiday🎄🎁🎉
Amazingly cool technique!!!! Thank you😊
Glad you like it!
What a gorgeous stitch! I’m sticking my tie in the water, and trying to move beyond scarves, shawls and baby blankets…. Much love. 🧶🧶
Very cool!!!
LOVE the snoring in the background!!
🤣😂🤣😂
😂🤣😂
This was the most fun stitch I’ve ever knit, in part 4 of the MKAL. I’ve started a cowl with Dip-3s and Dip-4s, it’s cushy and dramatic.
Thanks for this!! I am a little behind on the MKAL because I had to knit a couple of Christmas presents to post overseas. I have been a bit nervous about starting this section of the shawl. Your video is so thorough and makes it look so easy that I am excited to start it!

Love this. ❤. You are an excellent tutor and so inspiring thank you.
😂 En français maintenant 😉
Thank you for this beautiful stitch!

Also. The hat must be *so cozy*!!
Love this stitch!
Very pretty stitch. 🖤
It would be interesting to try this in the flat
So beautiful!
Pretty 😍 pattern thank you 👍🏾
Very nice pattern! Thank you.
I just learned a lot, but it was today when I learned I am an English style knitter.🤯
Stephen introduced the DIP5 in the geogradient shawl, which is knitted on the flat.
If you want to use the DIP technique in the flat you can do DIP3 and DIP5 but DIP4 would not be possible.
Awesome stitch pattern! You explained it really well! Can you do the Even Steven for any pattern? Stranded for instance?
Oops spelled your name incorrectly ( Stephen 😉)
If you knit the plain stitch first, *before* 15:20 instead of after the dip, could you use k2tog instead of SSK on rd 2? Maybe that would give trouble with working the final dip on rd 1??
❤❤❤ j'adore c'est très beau et bien chaud 😊 merci à vous
素敵なセーター😊

Потрясающе ❤
I love this! how would you go about raglan increases with this stitch?

Dire bravo è riduttivo! ❤
Can you start from the beginning with a beginners thanks
❤❤❤❤ I love
So fun 😂
It's a beautiful stitch pattern and sounds like an insult. What more could you ask for?
How does the dip stitch work on a flat project? I have downloaded the wrap, but there’s no demonstration of a wrong side row

Ti adoro 💋💋💋💋
Merci pour ces explications même si elles sont en anglais elles sont compréhensibles en français . Merci encore . Amicalement mag
Это настолько подробнейший видеоряд, что легко понимаемый на любом языке😂, главное чтобы был небольшой опыт в вязании!!
Hi Stephen as I am still on clue 3 of the MKAL could I do 2 rows of dip 5 then 2 rows of dip 6 and 2 rows of dip 7s, to lengthen my shawl?
You would not be able to work DIP6 on the flat, DIP6 would only be possible in the round. Similarly, DIP4 can only be worked in the round.
You could repeat the colors with Dip 5s (or Dip 3s or 7s)to any length you want. Swatch for the longer dips-that would be leaving pretty long floats on the front to maybe catch? Or maybe stunning!! @@jamiethrogmorton2540 thanks
Love love this stitch but rows take forever to knit.
True that!

Got it 👍🏾
