Agree with the shorter intervals. 6K is a bit long on any engine especially a turbo charged one. Yes, motor oils are vastly superior today but it's not the oil. It's the oil DILUTION. Guys running Ethanol blends should change it even sooner as Ethanol magnifies the dilution process. Looking forward to your future VB content.
I’d recommend doing a no start crank to prime the engine/filter after changing the oil/filter. Hold down the clutch and gas, hit the start button, and let it turn over until it stops. Then start the engine as usual.
I’ve been doing 1500 miles, 0-20 winter and 5-40 summer but starting to get piston slap at 20,000 miles with no mods so either RTV or something else is wrong.
