For a lancer, id recommend the 527, I have a set, it's cracked but that's because the last owner had like -12 camber lots of stretch and a 40 series tire, that's literally abuse for any wheel...I left the tires so I could fit them on my car but I didn't have as much camber.
Well nah not really but the your better off getting enkei if you want something light man...search on Facebook Craigslist offers up etc, but used there's no point on getting new unless you got money.
I’ve gone off-roading down trails with Rota grids and they held up fine too, people just love to boast on how expensive the wheels they have are... i also have a pair of BBS LMs.. haha Daily vs Show
What I especially love are when these dudes on instagram who are against XXR/replicas that post pics of their "real" wheels, talking shit about XXR/replicas, and they're running some weird, asian named, unknown generic tires...
I've used a set of 530's with my winter tires for 4 years now. No mechanical issues and I don't feel like killing myself when I find snow covered curbs and medians 👍🏽
XXR's were the first aftermarket wheels I bought. I had them for 3 years with no issues. The one bad thing about them aesthetically is the multi bolt pattern design. mine were 4 lug, but the wheels had 8 holes to fit two different bolt patterns.
I hate that too, the wheel would have to be exceptional in all other aspects for me to be remotely interested. Only good good thing would be being able to slap it onto another car if hole pattern and offset works...and the weight savings of a couple oz. haha
But that's just alike many other brands. However, not all of XXR wheels have dual bolt patterns. So, I'm sure that many other brands have certain rims with dual patterns.
Right ! Thats why I did a 5 Lug swap to 5x114.3 on my Prelude got tired of trying to find 4x114.3 wheels 🤣 Now I still have trouble because everything in 17" and up !
I have a set of XXR 527s I bought in 2011. Been through a few Ohio winters and "spirited" driving and the only thing wrong with them so far is the curb rash (my fault). They're great rims!!
It seems like a lot of people have this idea that they need $400-800 a piece wheels with racing pedigree and every certification on the planet but if you aren't actually putting your wheels through the incredible stress of racing/drifting/autocross/etc and the car is basically just a daily driver or a weekend canyon cruiser, you really don't need to spend a crazy amount of money on wheels. Id probably run them without that black and red xxr center cap they use because I think that looks a bit shitty but otherwise they have some great looking designs and a ton of options.

Although I prefer authentic wheels; I can't knock anyone who just wants these as some daily wheels. It's their car and their money, not my problem or choice. That said, it's a cheaper option to go OEM+ for wheel choice, especially if you're planning to save up for a higher quality wheel. My main issue with reps is the handful of scene kids who think they stand out from the rest when they have the same wheels as others and/or have no problem dropping serious cash on quality coilovers, or an air kit, quality tires, etc but cheap out on wheels. Yes that actually happens.
Depends on where you put your money. Dropping $1k on wheels alone that may not even have the specs you want kinda blows. I own the 527s for a year now and I hit pot holes a few times a week. I haven't had a any problem with my rims and I drive pretty hard. My coilovers... Are a different story
Seen a friend skid into a curb on a pair of XXRs and he drove home with just a cracked rear camber arm, but the wheel wasn’t cracked or bent in the slightest, just looked like some curb rash. I say don’t knock em till you try em
Okay, so there is a 50/50 they will break or it depends on if your running low profile and think your driving a truck they will break? Like driving highways going 90mph and going over small bumps won’t do anything? Just curious? I’m just interested
I had XXR 531s (I think) on my FRS when it burned down. I want y'all to know that the front wheels MELTED. Ask me if I had ever seen wheels melt before. No, I hadn't- and haven't since. The rears (far from the heart of the fire) cracked clean off of the barrels just from the heat. Moral of the story: Some things you should just spend the cash on (when possible.) Also, don't burn your car down. That helps most.
For us who dont crash or set their cars aflame. Xxrs come in good specs and dont break unless you break them. good price and replacing 4 xxrs is cheaper than repairing one work miester. I have owned both
cortland samford What happened to me can happen to anyone, buddy. It was enough of an eye-opener to keep me from ever buying another set. I don’t want a wheel that’s going to disintegrate in any kind of accident. Other note: They were unreasonably heavy.
I've always figured XXRs are just like any other cast wheel. They're going to be just as safe as your oem cast wheel. I will say that the one set I ever owned were pretty heavy and you could really feel that extra rotational mass. They look like high end wheels for basically nothing though

I’ve had XXR wheels for 3 years on my daily drivers and I’ve got a few dents on my two front wheels. I’m about to replace them in a few days. Those dents are due to poor road conditions + my fast driving. If you’re looking for a cheap good looking wheel I’d recommend them. I’m going to upgrade to VMR wheels at this point so I’ll reply to this comment with how much different they feel, specially on poor road conditions since a more expensive wheel should feel stronger, right?
i just bought xxr 550 18x9.75 for my evo x im stuck on what tires to buy my budget is around $650 and im looking for 245/40 for alittle bit of stretch what tires should i go with?
I have xxr 521's on my supra never had any problems with them (touch wood) yes they are cheep but they have taken a beating with no bother and still look fresh 3 years on and I do drive its no garage queen. I think people that have problems are probably hitting curbs and potholes then blaming the wheel tbh
I bought a set of XXR 530's had them only a year until one of them cracked on me. I was up in the mountains driving through the canyons and it cracked and air started to hiss out. Got rid off them after that.

Nothing more or less to say about you guys. subbed. awesome videos and from the looks of it, your site looks cool and or useful to find info that you need.
i have xxr 527's. I smacked a square curb veryyyy hard and the rims survived with only bad curb rash. I expected them to break into a million peices. +1 for xxrs
How about a vid about knock off wheels and which ones to stay away from because of faulty build quality, guys on limited budgets especially ones new to the car scene keep getting duped into buying them because their on store shelves and their automatically thinking their good wheels when their not, would really help out the younger enthusiast and keep up the great vids some of the best on UA-cam for car guys-- funny and informative
Is there a rotary forged, or even a full monoblock wheel that looks like the XXR 557, comes in anywhere from a 17x8 to an 18x9, AND has the black and bronze finish using a 5x100 bolt pattern? If so, I think I'm in love. Lay it on me, brother, how much am I spending on these unicorns?
I didn't even know xxr's had a stigma until I saw this video. Prolly the reason theres alot of them on the road today, because there cheap, look nice, and most people don't know shit about wheels.
2 years on XXR 527s on my prelude 5th gen. No issues still. And this is me accidentally driving 60 MPH over a random ass construction steel bump on the street that workers never put a sign on, pot holes, and stupid ass bumps in Las Vegas
Of course man! check out all the civics in our gallery and you can get an idea of what you want. www.fitmentindustries.com/wheel-offset-gallery?order=year&make=Honda&model=Civic&page=1
this is still my favorite wheel history, im partial though since i've owned a few pairs of XXRs (521/527/962) even when they used to be called Sportmax (my 504s). good times
It's not anyone company that makes wheels that tend to crack it's the process they choose. Squeeze casting is well known in the industry to be more prone to cracking when the wheel gets damaged vs getting bent. I don't know about you but I'd rather have my wheel get bent then crack and crumple under my car. That's horrible and unsafe.
that's some dumb "logic" bent or cracked, your wheels are done, and in either case a crash or hit hard enough to bend wheels WILL likely damage your suspension and or subframe, especially if you run solid subframe and suspension mounts.
People that hate xxr’s have never bought and owned xxr’s because they think it’s like buying sketchers because they are cheap. People that have bought them they love them. I have xxr’s on my 240 and it’s nice knowing if I smack a wheel on a curb or something I can get another wheel for like 100-150.
3 years on XXRs... Daily drive in Chicago weather and salt, potholes, 2 seasons of AutoX, couple track days.... 0 issues

I’ve gone off-roading down trails with Rota grids and they held up fine too, people just love to boast on how expensive the wheels they have are... i also have a pair of BBS LMs.. haha Daily vs Show
I threw my car into a curb once and my 527's barely got scratched
Done the same, a bit too many a times. And they still look nice on my 3G TL... From a distance.

I agree. I hate the extra holes :/

I love XXR simply because NO ONE ELSE MAKES 4X114.3 LUG PATTERNS besides JNC
Pablo Picaso I had TSW for my Hyundai Accent. They are same lug pattern. I had to change the rotor to a flush mount bolt to make them fit.

Depends on where you put your money. Dropping $1k on wheels alone that may not even have the specs you want kinda blows. I would rather use the money i save invest in some great compound and run the proper sizing i want on a good looking wheel for the upfront price of buying "real" wheels. I live in Mexicali Mexico, the streets are shattered, holes everywhere, I have had 3 different models and measures and have endured many blows in the horrible streets, my opinion is that they are very good buy. use the translator
awesome vids. Just made the connection you guys are a part of custom offsets. Those videos helped me with wheels and tires for my f150!
Yupp!! It's cool that you recognized that!
Fitment Industries it was the goofy accent!
Just ordered a set of 521s for my 2016 Audi A5. Can't wait to see how they look on the car
Just because it cheap doesn't mearn its crap I pick up a set of bbs wheels and xxr lasted longer vs cracked bbs now which one is garbage
I bought a set of XXR 530's had them only a year until one of them cracked on me. I was up in the mountains driving through the canyons and it cracked and air started to hiss out. Got rid off them after that.
What did you hit/run over haha?
How fast where you going? 😎
Hey man what offset would be good for my 04 g35 coupe +20?Nd it's low looking to buy some xxrs on your site
Did you check out our gallery?! We Have tons of G35's with photos and full specs so you dont have to guess on your fitment! (Link: goo.gl/Wpbx8z) What XXR wheel are you looking at getting?
Any history on VMR ?
We can find out :D
I really need to find an answer to my question guys so plz answer...will the XXR 555's fit on a corolla 2013 Sport?

Who’s watching in 2019?
Can you review svt wheels please?
Is there a vid for advans
There will be :D
i have xxr 527's. I smacked a square curb veryyyy hard and the rims survived with only bad curb rash.
I expected them to break into a million peices. +1 for xxrs
Yeah man some people can get away with that and other hit a pothole and they break
Great idea man I am sure a lot of the newer guys to the scene would appreciate that as well!
PFFFFTTT MAAAAN idk bout all that!! 😂😂 Have you checked out our online shop we thousands of wheel options! bit.ly/2Imgo9B
I didn't even know xxr's had a stigma until I saw this video. Prolly the reason theres alot of them on the road today, because there cheap, look nice, and most people don't know shit about wheels.
2 years on XXR 527s on my prelude 5th gen.
No issues still.
And this is me accidentally driving 60 MPH over a random ass construction steel bump on the street that workers never put a sign on, pot holes, and stupid ass bumps in Las Vegas
do ccw or weld racing
We will!
I got them today used with new tires for 400 and they’re pretty good so far
Dang not a bad price! You got any pics of your set up!?
So what is like the xxr equivalent to the truck world? In other words company makes similarly priced wheels for trucks.
We'll ask our guys over at Custom Offsets for their opinion!
Gary Winthorpe Moto Metal
Yeah moto metals, I'm a mechanic and I have balanced so many of those pieces of shits. Weigh a ton, made in China, and balance like dog crap.
a little piece of mind after just receiving my 530's. I can't wait to get the tires on these things. Great vid.
Hey dude, can you do a vid on Alzor wheels.Preferably the 084 19x9.5 Square set for the Audi /VW guys. Much appreciated.

Can you do VMR, please? I love this series!
Sure! Glad you enjoy it Romi!
Had mine on a turbo Mustang GT for 7 years no problems 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
this is still my favorite wheel history, im partial though since i've owned a few pairs of XXRs (521/527/962) even when they used to be called Sportmax (my 504s).
Simple solution....DON'T damage your wheels! I love when I see EXPENSIVE forged wheels chewed to F***, says a LOT about the driver.
that's some dumb "logic" bent or cracked, your wheels are done, and in either case a crash or hit hard enough to bend wheels WILL likely damage your suspension and or subframe, especially if you run solid subframe and suspension mounts.
Have you done 5Zigen yet? If not you should.
Nope but we will!
Do Konig!
It's on our list!
FredEvoX it's up
0:20 *when I lose a race in nfs prostreet*
People that hate xxr’s have never bought and owned xxr’s because they think it’s like buying sketchers because they are cheap. People that have bought them they love them. I have xxr’s on my 240 and it’s nice knowing if I smack a wheel on a curb or something I can get another wheel for like 100-150.
how about 5zigen?
We will add it to the list!
