Nice video! Just a the CPL filter was a little strange of a before and after. Since you didn't use it with any sunlight or light that goes into the lens creating lens flare... But other than that very helpful video.
Resolution is my priority. I want to be able to see every detail. If someone made a dash camera with a 64 or better MP sensor I would be looking at the reviews and all else on it for sure. I really would consider buying one as long as the price is reasonable. I want to not only see license plates clearly but be able to spot preexisting damage on a vehicle before they attempt their fraud. That would help establish that either they are a terrible driver or may be committing fraud. It would also make it harder for them to try to blame me for the damage (especially if my vehicle does not have damage in a location that would suggest that it was me. Or even better, no damage at all.
@BlackboxMyCar Dash Cams | North America it would be interesting. At a guess its better optimised firmware or Sony starves 2 benefits better from a 60fps over 30fps. Just a theory
The 70mai A810's resolution is very impressive, with a solid price point, but we have found it's features to be on the weaker side. For more information, we have a comparison article here: www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/thinkware-q1000-vs-70mai-a810s-dash-cam-comparison-review
@@blackboxmycar Thanks for the great response. I had ended up picking up 2 of them. One for me and one for my fiancé. Amazon had a $20 coupon which I was able to use twice and it ended up paying for the wiring kits for both with free overnight shipping. Basically almost 2 for the price of one of the Q1000.
The more correctly named 70mai A810 uses the Sony Starvis 2 IMX678, but as of this date, it only records TWO SECONDS before the accident event in its emergency videos. The same data is available in its continuous loop recording, but for most people that would make it much harder to compose a video with a continuous time frame, and being a manual operation, might not be as reliable proof of the sequence of events. I asked them if they were going to update the firmware and although they didn't say they wouldn't be doing that, they were vague about the future. I had actually bought the 70mai A810 when I discovered this, and I have decided to return it for a refund.
What would be really nice is a rear view mirror camera but I am thinking something that is almost like a direct replacement for the original mirror and not some weird looking clip on thing. I would rather it be hidden so that when someone does try something let them file their false report and then play back the video there is no way they would have ever guessed that I had and watch their chin drop!!! Up next press charges on them for filing a false police report and make them wish that they knew how to do things aside from committing fraud.
The quality of this video, looks better than all the other U3000 video i have seen.
Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for making this
No problem :)
Hey man do you have any recommendations for any motorcycle dash cams ? That works well at night ?
Consider the Thinkware M1 Motorsport, or VIOFO MT1! Both use Sony STARVIS 1.

Thanks for the feedback! We'll see what we can do about showing that more clearly moving forward

By all reports the mini 2 produces better image than the 139 pro. It would be good to explore this further
Yes, we're totally aware of the better quality of the Mini 2, and eagerly doing our own research into it!

What are your thoughts on the 70mai A810 dashcam?
