A few years ago, they were all over tv here (Melbourne aus) and it was more because of the surgeries they had to look identical. They looked very very similar before hand but it wasn’t enough for them. They needed identical looks. All this shit about needing to share everything and be pregnant at the same time and even talking at the same time I believe is a thing for TLC because they weren’t this nuts back then, just happy to look the same sort of thing. Anything identical about them is fabricated for or by TLC
@@kristinperkins21 yeah I think so too. Then it moved onto even more extremes, like pregnancy. They can say they’re happy and they may be, but I couldn’t imagine the anxiety their lifestyle would bring.
For two people who do literally everything and anything to be identical, they sure are playing with fire. Like what happens when one gets knocked up and not the other...
Yes, and much more than that. What if both kids aren't the same gender? What if one goes through a miscarriage? They will be DEVASTATED by the complications that can happen with late pregnancy
If a patient says they are okay with you disclosing their information to someone, you can do it. I have no doubt these two are okay with full disclosure.
I mean, it’s on TLC so they must have a certain disregard for putting their issues in the public eye. I’d imagine they’re quite satisfied with their 15 minutes of fame.
Synchronization is a thing, it's not fully understood, but it's possible, if they eat, drink, exercise, do everything exactly the same, and they're identical in terms of health and metabolism, I'm sure it's possible for two people to drop a deuce at the same time. Conception is another thing entirely, that's much more complex and much less understood.
Here in Australia, the twins have been shown on various tv programs for over ten years. It’s still surprising their relationship with that one man is still going strong.
When they said they were with him for 7 years, I thought they just got together but like, why didnt they look at research for like, oh in the future we want children, lets see how we can do that in 5 years time
I know someone who got attacked by a shark. We're Tasmanian but it was when she was visiting Queensland that it happened. It bit a chunk out of her thigh whilst they were swimming in the ocean off a yacht. There was a doctor on anotjer yacht close by thankfully. She is still alive and has to wear a brace thing on her leg everyday and one leg is a bit shorter than the other now. She was on 60 minutes for an interview about it too. It was my Mum's boss for over 10 years and I knew her as well. Crazy stuff! But no, it doesn't happen all the time here. I never hear of attacks down here in Tasmania but most dudes I know go surf fishing on the beach and catch sharks a lot. But the water is pretty cold down here, whereas it's warm in Queensland and therefore attracts bigger sharks.
Ok so my Mum just told me there was an attack down here in Tassie not long ago. And yeah I remember it now. The shark actually jumped out of the water and tried to attack a young boy in a boat. That is very unusual behaviour for a shark they don't usually jump up and attack. Only attack what's already in the water.
fun fact: your temperature goes up once you've ovulated, so waiting until the temp rises has a pretty low chance of actually working. Also, the temp jump is more like 1 to 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit, so...
They will go nuts if that ever happens, I think they will either consider abortion just to give it another try, that way it’s the same for both of them
These girls are from my hometown Perth, Western Australia. I let them into a club years ago, and they had the same boyfriend 😆 Tbh no one really stared that much either- they just did their own thing 🤷♀️
Also in Perth I got a chuckle how when they showed a shot of the Swan RIVER and Buff said "All those people on the Ocean and they ain't getting eaten by Sharks?"
Because they're identical twins, their DNA is pretty much the same, so their kids would genetically be siblings :) (imagine if the kids got a DNA test, it would match both moms even with tiny DNA mutations)
As much as I agree with the comments how they shouldn't have babies, the scientist in me definitely would like to see how people with the same genetics and same lifestyle would gestate the same pregnancy conceived at the same time 🤔
As different as any other women. Being twins wouldn’t even be a major factor in outcome or duration of pregnancy. It is a unique experience for every woman for every pregnancy. They’ll just look alike while doing it
Identical twins have identical DNA, however, each egg within a woman has different sets of DNA, as well as sperm each have different DNA. That's why if a couple has three different kids, they won't all look exactly the same.
Not considering that genetically those kids would be siblings, but also legally half siblings if they share their father. And acshually, the temperatures goes up about 12-24hrs AFTER ovulating, that’s why you have to trace it for a couple of months before learning when you are ovulating, and I hope they got the sensitive, special thermometers, not the regular ones.
They might know about them but they hopefully won't use that alone to try and get pregnant because those apps just give you a prediction, using your temp would be more accurate.
My mom had me at 36 and she just had to try once with my dad (age 40) after taking her loop out. So my parents must be super fertile, I don’t want kids so i have to be super carefull when I become sexually active. Also hope you and your twins are doing great!
Dr - “there is a VERY low chance of you two having babies at the same time.” The sisters - “I don’t like that a medical professional told me something I didn’t want to hear! Let’s get our information from the internet!”
This is so childish it feels like the last thing they should do is attempt to be parents. What happens if one miscarriages, Will the other be expected to end their pregnancy too? Looks like an impending disaster in the making. Yikes
They would technically be half-sibling/cousins but genetically they would be full siblings bc their moms would have identical DNA and they have the same dad 😳
there's some confusion in the comments about why the age of the twins matter. 35 is a *statistically significant* number because pregnancies after this age are riskier. it's not ageist or sexists to state facts, nobody is/should be saying women shouldn't have children after 35. of course plenty of women older than 35 are fertile, get pregnant, survive giving birth and have healthy children; but this doesn't disprove the statistics. younger women face risks too, and having children too young is *also* risky - teen pregnancies are dangerous. so, what do?? plan your pregnancies. if you're older than 35, go to your doctor if you're planning a pregnancy *preferably before you're pregnant* so you can make sure you're healthy, and *keep up with prenatal care appointments.* if you're curious about what particular risks there are, ask your doctor :)
Perth based Australian here. We have zero covid cases and it's the hometown of Heath Ledger. When you are completely settled in Australia definitely visit Perth. I giggled at the thought of the boyfriend being big Ed and having to move his whole body to look at them while they both try to talk at the same time 😂
The doctor said that it's a 1/36 chance of them both getting pregnant at the same time. What he didn't go into detail about is that even if they were inseminated at the exact same time, it's not a guarantee that the fertilized eggs will attach to the uterine wall at the same time or that they'll be born at the same time.
In all seriousness, miscarriages is still very prevalent in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. I can only imagine the devastation and trauma the twins may endure if one of them looses a child. Dealing with a siblings miscarriage is already super hard and emotional, so I can only imagine what would happen in this scenario. I pray they have a safe and healthy pregnancy.
Fun fact: You don't need to share a baby-daddy to get cousin-siblings. If a pair of identical twins have children with another pair of identical twins, their children are both cousins and siblings as well.
@@chubbybunny6975 no they wouldnt be identical. the childrens genes get randomly selected from the parents gene pool. so the selection would be different for each child, even if the parents dna is equal. that's why siblings aren't identical.
@Chubby Bunny well you're a funny one. It doesn't matter if the parents have identical dna. you don't understand chromosomal crossover, which is a RECOMBINATION of the parents genetic material. individual children won't have the same dna, even if the parents had the exact same dna. Edit: now you deleted all your idiotic comments, well done!
"We don't accept that." Doctor: "Oh ok, in that case I will have to tell you that it is 100% possible and that in fact it already worked! Congratulations, you're both pregnant now!" =)
Even IF they get pregnant at the same time, they won't necessarily go into labor at the same time. Or what is one of them gets pregnant with twins and the other doesn't (twins are hereditary).
Speaking on the twins pregnancy: They could have themselves induced into labor at the same time. That's the only way they would be able deliver simultaneously. Even if one twin is a few weeks behind, once both the babies are far along, it would be safe.
But even when induced women take different amounts of time in labor before the baby comes. Even being induced wouldnt fulfill their crazy fantasys. (No hate, just crazyness)
@@MisunderstoodNeko1 this is so true! I figured this may as CLOSE as you could get to trying to have their babies at the same time (not that I would want to appease/condone this kind of obsessive crazyness to begin with!!)

Someone's probably already said this but measuring temperature to determine whether you're ovulating is a legit method. It used to be more complicated than that but these days, with the right device, temperature is enough. Some also use it as a contraceptive method but I'd be careful with that.
Yeah. We learned about it as part of the "natural family planning" method (?) in my school (in RE, along with the usual stuff in Biology). Knowing about all that came in handy for when I was actually ready to have kids. I think the temperature checking is a better indicator when done alongside tracking of the monthly cycle? Idk if the twins in the show were doing that too tho.
@@violet7124 Oh wow, it's so cool that you learned about it in school. I wish I had. everyone seems to miss that part because TLC didn’t add that.
Oop! Spilling all the beans!
People can get more crazy of their own volition.
The surgery could have been the starting point and they just got worse from there
@@kristinperkins21 yeah I think so too. Then it moved onto even more extremes, like pregnancy. I think if they’d try some therapy (they mentioned in one clip their dad dying and how things changed after that) that maybe they could start to relax on the whole “identical” thing. They can say they’re happy and they may be, but I couldn’t imagine the anxiety their lifestyle would bring.
They are identical twins. Identical twins have identical DNA but because of environmental factors and such they aren't always completely "identical".
They literally do the Timmy and Tommy thing. “He’s our future... future!”

I swear they said they wouldn’t keep the baby.

I’d hate to be their doctor. They are patient confidentiality nightmares.
If a patient says they are okay with you disclosing their information to someone, you can do it. I have no doubt these two are okay with full disclosure.
There's a form for that
I mean, it’s on TLC so they must have a certain disregard for putting their issues in the public eye. I’d imagine they’re quite satisfied with their 15 minutes of fame.
Ik r? I’d feel such an urge when I get home to my spouse to be like “you’re never gonna believe the day I had...”

They just hold it in until the other one can go as well. Probably.

As different as any other women. Being twins wouldn’t even be a major factor in outcome or duration of pregnancy. It is a unique experience for every woman for every pregnancy. They’ll just look alike while doing it
There have been twins that get with twins before. That's even more identical.

They would technically be half-sibling/cousins but genetically they would be full siblings bc their moms would have identical DNA and they have the same dad 😳
🤯
Wow, yes. I just commented this. I'm gonna take mine down 😂
there's some confusion in the comments about why the age of the twins matter. 35 is a *statistically significant* number because pregnancies after this age are riskier. it's not ageist or sexists to state facts, nobody is/should be saying women shouldn't have children after 35. of course plenty of women older than 35 are fertile, get pregnant, survive giving birth and have healthy children;
but this doesn't disprove the statistics. younger women face risks too, and having children too young is *also* risky - teen pregnancies are dangerous.
so, what do?? plan your pregnancies. if you're older than 35, go to your doctor if you're planning a pregnancy *preferably before you're pregnant* so you can make sure you're healthy, and *keep up with prenatal care appointments.* if you're curious about what particular risks there are, ask your doctor :)

The doctor said that it's a 1/36 chance of them both getting pregnant at the same time. Yes! I’ve seen this! The cousins look exactly alike as the siblings. It’s so interesting

Even IF they get pregnant at the same time, they won't necessarily go into labor at the same time. Or what is one of them gets pregnant with twins and the other doesn't (twins are hereditary).
They'll plan an elective C section or ask to be induced on the same day.

2. If one's pregnancy test is positive and the other's is negative then they're going to go again
Doc's all like, "Did I wake up in looneyville today!?!" Lol jeez
Speaking on the twins pregnancy: They could have themselves induced into labor at the same time. That's the only way they would be able deliver simultaneously. Even if one twin is a few weeks behind, once both the babies are far along, it would be safe.
But even when induced women take different amounts of time in labor before the baby comes. Even being induced wouldnt fulfill their crazy fantasys.

I heard about this from a German UA-camr who mentioned that he and his girlfriend were using the method as a contraceptive as as part of their vegan lifestyle. Apparently it's working for them.
