    But Mai pben rai has "mai" before "pben"?

      Because it's just a phrase, not a sentence.

      Just like Mr X said " ไม่เป็นไร mâi bpen rai" is an expression, it doesn't apply to this grammar rule. :)

    Hi Kruu Pear, instead of yuu tii grung tep, can i say "yuu nai grung tep"?

    • @ThaiwithMod

      "Yuu nai grung-tep" is understandable but it is not commonly used in spoken Thai. :)

      @rebeccang9988 3 роки тому +1

      @@ThaiwithMod if that's the case, can we cut out the preposition totally and say "kao yuu grung-tep" in spoken thai?

    • @ThaiwithMod
      @ThaiwithMod  3 роки тому +2

      @@rebeccang9988 Yes you can. The preposition "tîi" is often dropped in colloquial Thai unlike other prepositions. For example; "he is in the bathroom" in Thai, you need to keep the preposition "nai" and say เขาอยู่ในห้อง /káo yùu nai hâwng-náam/.

    Ah, so I see. Subject + pben/mai-chai + noun is how the sentence works. Pom is the subject because that’s what the sentence revolves around, and then kon Thai comes last cause it’s the noun. But kon Thai is an adjective to describe yourself, no? You’re not Thai and to be Thai is a description, but I think I still get it

  • @mkp108
    @mkp108 Рік тому

    Since pben is only followed by a noun, you should say I am a Brit, not I am British, since "British" is an adjective.
