Chagnon Rear Loader With A Fast Crew

  • Canada is known for having some of the fastest rear load crews, and while recently visiting Montréal I got to see a perfect example of just that. I’m pretty stoked to have been able to film this!
    In many areas of Montréal, there is no space for carts or dumpsters leaving residents no option but to use bags or manual bins. These guys make it look easy throwing these bags around as if they were toys. But many of these bags are not as light as you’d think, Many bags are filled with literal drywall and construction debris. No matter what these guys leave nothing behind, taking furniture, construction materials, and anything else out on the curb for collection.
    The Chagnon Sprinter 25 keeps up well with the constant flow of trash being loaded into the hopper. Being able to cycle the packer quickly and while moving makes this truck perfect for the application. I would love to see more of these trucks in the US.
    I followed these guys for 2 hours before they packed out the truck and headed for the dump. Despite a slight language barrier, this was still one of the coolest crews I’ve ever had the chance to film. They put on a great show and were incredibly friendly, making this experience one of the best filming experiences I have to date.
    Enjoy!
    merci à Ing et aux autres gars de m'avoir laissé filmer !

    Here in Ontario(Canada) We work fast because we are understaffed all the time. The worst is coming in on a Monday, and finding out you have 3 open maps. You end up working until 6 or 7pm. Depending on how fast everyone works. Being a garbage man was the best job I ever had, even tho it ruined my back and shoulder. I was in the best shape of my life.

    Nice to see some Chagnon action. There used to be a bunch of them in NYC but I haven't seen any running in years.

    Great video, it's crazy how fast they were throwing in the bags. I liked getting to see the full packing cycle when the hopper was full of bags.

    Fantastic video. Really like how the Euro tippers on the back are connected. Definitely wasn't expecting to see a 770L container like the one around the 19-minute mark. Fast crew made it very entertaining as well. Good stuff.

    They put all that effort in but they make such a mess. Our refuse collectors may be slower but at least our road is left clean and tidy!!

      When you have a big route, sometimes the little things get left behind so they can get done at a reasonable time. The Streep sweepers that roll through get the scraps left behind I believe.

    Super-excellent workers doing a demanding job of trash pick up! I question the reason by the company of the need for that hectic pace; surely, the workers are "beat" by the end of their shift! Also they would benefit by a slower pace!

    Fast young guys.... Not Like My Crew...Old Retired (Or needing too retire) Gentlemen been at it for thirty years but knew there stuff and where the customers would hide the stuff/trash...I miss trash pick-up I drove the truck then the sweeper to clean up the mess left behind. We did all this from midnight til 8am with no traffic on the streets and no parked cars!!!

    • @hunterdawg89
      @hunterdawg89  8 місяців тому +1

      The contrast between a young crew and an older crew is certainly very large. Trash pickup at night is so much more smooth. I wish we did more of it in America. Safer, faster, etc.

    They were just a bit too fast for their own good. A good number of times they had to pick up the same bag twice after they missed the hopper, or it didn't go in - especially the bins. I don't know why they left that bit of branch when they took wood boards etc.
