To equate the US Constitution to same level as the Holy Scriptures is blasphemous! The Holy Scripture is the word of God. John 1:1 tells us that the Word (Jesus) is God. So to equate the Constitutions to the Holy Scriptures is calling the Constitution God (Jesus) and that is sinful. To equate the Constitution to the finished work of the Cross where Jesus bore our sin, took our lashes, and was nailed to the cross is egregious. The suggestion of such deserves a strong rebuke! The commandments tell us to have no other god before him. America is not the chosen nation, and its documents are no where on the level with God. Christian Nationalism promotes this false teaching and it is absolutely shameful and sinful. Many have made America and the Constitution their god and it is evident in their conversation, teachings and behavior. Thank you, HP and Esau! As an ordained priest, and lifelong believer, this was atrocious, but not unexpected. I thought about this while we had our Maundy Thursday service, as I watched parishioners wash each other's feet. As much as I am weary of his increasingly outlandish and cultish \words and behavior, I believe that 2 things are important: 1- Continue to call him out, along with his enablers, and 2- preach the true gospel in words and deed-- That the God who is love, became us, to love us back to life.

You say you don't get the whole song when you buy this book. That's okay - you don't get the whole United States Constitution, either. Tim Wildsmith paged through the documents stuck in the back of the book (which is to say, I do not own and have not touched any copy of this publication), and it appears that what's included is the United States Constitution as ratified - including the names of the signers - and the Bill of Rights. So the Eleventh through the Twenty-Seventh Amendments are not included. I don't ascribe any intentionality to this - as glaring as the omission of the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth, Sixteenth, Nineteenth and Twenty-Second Amendments may be - but I note that it appears that somebody did at best a sloppy job of grabbing some documents to throw in so this book would have some of that good ole Patriotism Stuff as a marketing gimmick, without, presumably, knowing enough to know that there's more to the United States Constitution than the original document and the Bill of Rights. Perhaps whoever did this didn't even know the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights are somehow related to each other. No serious student of the United States Constitution - not even any serious United States citizen - would miss that the documents chosen for this publication are missing so much that there's no point in including the documents except to make people who don't and won't read them feel good, or at least feel contentious and combative about this obnoxious publication, which leads them to feel good. But nobody who actually wants to see what the United States Constitution says on some subject could make use of the copies in this book, because so much of the actual complete document is missing.

Was there no one in the room who could say "Hey, guys, if we include the first 10 Amendments but not the 13th or the 19th, aren't we just _begging_ people to ask why we don't support emancipation or women's suffrage?" When I was a child in Canada, we got given in elementary school a New Testament. In the front was our flag, and anthem, & God Save the Queen. But our constitution & Bill Rights were not in it.

I'm not a strict Christian like some here. I see a different problem others have mentioned elsewhere. A lot of us see what we consider craziness from the left. Trumps fans are out for blood because they feel slighted. When the country turns back to the right, it's going to oversteer to what the true Liberals of the 60s and 70s were afraid the right would do. A BIG issue I have is the real legitimate Christians will denounce the false ones, and then nothing. The fakes are misusing the faith/religion for profit and power. I seem to remember Jesus flipping tables and whipping the money changers for doing the same thing. I have yet to see Christians do that.
0 protests, bans, media campaigns, political campaigns... nothing. Crickets. Yet at the same time, act shocked when Christianity goes into a decline and no one takes them seriously, get's lumped in with the bad ones. Silence is complacency.

Thank you, HP and Esau! As an ordained priest, and lifelong believer, this was atrocious, but not unexpected. I thought about this while we had our Maundy Thursday service, as I watched parishioners wash each other's feet. As much as I am weary of his increasingly outlandish and cultish \words and behavior, I believe that 2 things are important: 1- Continue to call him out, along with his enablers, and 2- preach the true gospel in words and deed-- That the God who is love, became us, to love us back to life.

You say you don't get the whole song when you buy this book. That's okay - you don't get the whole United States Constitution, either. Tim Wildsmith paged through the documents stuck in the back of the book (which is to say, I do not own and have not touched any copy of this publication), and it appears that what's included is the United States Constitution as ratified - including the names of the signers - and the Bill of Rights. So the Eleventh through the Twenty-Seventh Amendments are not included. I don't ascribe any intentionality to this - as glaring as the omission of the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth, Sixteenth, Nineteenth and Twenty-Second Amendments may be - but I note that it appears that somebody did at best a sloppy job of grabbing some documents to throw in so this book would have some of that good ole Patriotism Stuff as a marketing gimmick, without, presumably, knowing enough to know that there's more to the United States Constitution than the original document and the Bill of Rights. Perhaps whoever did this didn't even know the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights are somehow related to each other. No serious student of the United States Constitution - not even any serious United States citizen - would miss that the documents chosen for this publication are missing so much that there's no point in including the documents except to make people who don't and won't read them feel good, or at least feel contentious and combative about this obnoxious publication, which leads them to feel good.
But nobody who actually wants to see what the United States Constitution says on some subject could make use of the copies in this book, because so much of the actual complete document is missing.

When I was a child in Canada, we got given in elementary school a New Testament. In the front was our flag, and anthem, & God Save the Queen. But our constitution & Bill Rights were not in it.

I'm not a strict Christian like some here. I see a different problem others have mentioned elsewhere. A lot of us see what we consider craziness from the left. Trumps fans are out for blood because they feel slighted. When the country turns back to the right, it's going to oversteer to what the true Liberals of the 60s and 70s were afraid the right would do. Ultimately, introducing Bible for special social identities and classes introduces limits on scriptural understanding, especially if/ when those social identities are not made to submit to the doctrine of the scriptures. The Pharisees probably criticized Jesus’ overturning of the tables of commerce in the Temple as lacking in understanding and respect for the vendors and the poor who needed to buy the animals being sold there.
