For anyone with pets make sure that these being dispersed into the air are safe for them as some plants can be toxic for pets or young babies.

Awesome. Yea it’s shocking how many of these traditional actions we’ve kind of been brainwashed out of using by large corporations just trying to sell us more products!

I use diffusers that you add essential oils to as well as my humidifier which you can add oil to as well. And even when it’s snowing I open all the windows for 15-20 minutes each day to allow God’s greatest gift-fresh air- into the rooms. Then I make tea.💕

Sometimes when I've been cooking etc. of course open the windows but mentally I like to just simply embrace the aroma of freshly baked bread or a stew etc. And think of how grateful I am for the food and the ability to bake and cook for my family.

I adore how your frame your shots...putting the camera behind a plant and allowing the leaves to frame the focus of the imagery...just captivating! I learn so much about filmmaking and composition from the way you organize and frame your shots. Also, I've been seeing those purple flowers everywhere lately in the Alsatian countryside and Vosges mountains in France! I'm not sure what they are called...but they are so beautiful

Hey there always good to hear your musical voice. We in India also keep our windows open most of the day. We dry our clothes directly under the sun.
A good idea is to use camphor in the restroom. It clears any odour and keeps the bathroom dry. Incense sticks can also keep your house fragrant.

I like to keep a spray bottle with water & an essential oil(s) (usually lavender & geranium) in the bathroom, & every now & then I spray everything - the bath towels, hand towels, bath mat, then also any towels in the kitchen & the inside doormats 🙏💜 So Lush. I have a phobia of smelly houses. I absolutely DETEST a stale, unclean smelling home, it's one reason why I will never own another dog (and I love dogs, but since the passing of my elderly dog last year, I have been amazed at how lovely my house now smells) I too make a carpet sprinkle with baking soda, but I use essential oils to infuse it for a couple of weeks before use. I also make my own Potpourri (I pick up pretty bowls from the thrift shop to display it in) and pomanders. I am a massive fan of open windows, it's very rare to find a window in my house no cracked open, even in the middle of Winter. And really, just having a clean home. There is nothing worse than a closed up, grubby house!!!

Fresh air makes so much difference, even in a city flat with 2 windows, having the cross breeze going really "lifts" the space (not to sound too hippy dippy) idk it's one of those things that I think you don't notice actively but subconsciously it makes everything feel fresher and brighter.
Now I'm at home home with my parents, bedsheets that have dried outside VS tumble dried sheets - game changer. I sleep SO much better and they're so much softer than my sheets in the flat.
Plus as well I suppose being able to garden and eat my body weight in fresh raspberries doesn't hurt either! Nothing like a global pandemic to make you re-evaluate what's important to your everyday. Have you found yourself re-shuffling your ideals/priorities during this time?

  • @Dawn-bl8ze
    @Dawn-bl8ze 4 роки тому +1

So wonderful as always💜 something I do, for those of us who have the space, is grow jasmine! They’re incredibly fragrant and suffuse the air around them with this amazing rich scent. The only thing is that throughout the years they can grow massively and become kind of like ivy; a big bush clinging to anything. So I’d suggest this to those who have a bit of space! Though they do take about two years to get to that size. :)

Opening the windows is a daily necessity here too. In the summer it means getting up early as the temperature rises quickly on days like today where I already have had to close them because the high temp for today will be nearing 100F. I also often diffuse essential oils which has the same effect as your little simmering bowl on the stove and helps with the super dry air here this time of year. I also use essential oils for room sprays and make sachets to help to keep the moths away. I also often wear essential oils, so that helps to move those good smells around the house too! It was nice to see a wool sweater on you this week-none of that here in Northern California where we haven’t seen daytime temps below 90F in a couple of weeks now. Be well, have a beautiful week!

Hi Niamh, so delighted to see you and hear all your wonderful tips...and with Winter here in Australia I do forget to open up and let the breeze in every day as I don't like feeling cold. Interesting to hear you learnt this from your days of nursing and it makes a lot of sense. One thing I also do is leave a container in my fridge with bi-card soda in it, as it soaks up and discards any odours. Other than that I think you have pretty much covered everything. beeswax candles naturally clean the air - as they burn, they attach to particles in the air, making it heavy and it falls to the ground, so you may want to sweep after. When we had heavy smoke in the air due to forest fires, it affected even indoor air quality. Burning beeswax gave me an oasis of clean air.

I love your tips! I'm going to try so many of them. I used to do the essential oils in the hoover, but I have pets now, so had to stop doing that. Also when I buy soap that is strong smelling, you always have this little hard piece left over at the end. I put that in a pan with some water and boil it. Once the soap is dissolved, I make it into laundry detergent, but the house will smell lovely in the meantime.

I also use a natural and alcohol free body mist (I'm allergic to alcohol) on the clean laundry, usually magnorlia or white musk scented, wait for it to almost completely dry and fold the laundry: the bathrooms and closets smell amazing for a while!

Hello! How are you? Thank you so much for this wonderfull video. As you know I love lavender, I make sachets of lavender to put in wardrobes, drawers, I "spread" in many different places around the house. Mix anise is an excellent idea, I must try that, for sure! Your doors and windows design is so cute and cozy. Until sunday, have a nice week!

What is the reasoning for leaving the bathroom door closed? P.s. I love your channel!

I have a habit of leaving the bathroom door open, so that the air can also circulate and not be stuffy ... but apparently it won't be the most correct: ((
    Beautiful video.
    Thank you !

I use the bathroom ventilating fan in the ceiling to draw bad smells away. Just leave the door closed after a "visit" for several minutes. I also leave the window open a crack even in winter to draw fresh air through the bathroom.

That makes sense. Does your bathroom have a vent or window. If so that will let the loo smell outside without going into the house.

I can't close the bathroom door, my cat has her litter box in there and her food and water station. Also, a lot of people have allergies, like to pine, and that would not be a good idea to bring it in and boil it.

We always leave the bathroom door open, but we always have the bathroom window open, too, even if no other window is open (like if it is unbearably hot or cold outside). We just keep plants and beeswax candles in there to offset things 😂

Himalayan salt lamps are supposed to help air quality, as well. We have a few and while I can't say I've noticed a drastic difference the ambient light is certainly extraordinary.

My mom and my sister hates the smell of cloves. They said it smells like I'm brewing a smelly foot sock 😂..
For me its just fine specially when you added some orange or lemon and the best thing is cinnamon 😍
