as a south carolina resident, with the mountains a three hour drive away… i naturally chose paramotors. The nice thing about the flat lands in an agrarian state is that there are so many places to land with an engine out.

This is the best video explaining the differences between PG and PPG on the internet

Oh wow! I flew PG for 30 years before dipping my toe into PPG. I am hooked BUT! As a noob, we do not know what we do not know! The wind, the weather, the weight, the torque.... Everything was different. But what was most different... Low and Slow! Climb On Demand... Blew and... is still blowing my mind! Transitioning pilots need to know that school... is worth it! New pilots need to know school is WORTH IT!!!

Awesome Vid! As a ppg pilot, I've learned to appreciate how serene it can be with the motor turned off. I only get a small taste, as my typical setup is not efficient, just fast. I have a pg wing and its so different, even with a motor on it. It flies so slowly and seems to caress the skies. Turns are flat and it really inspires confidence. My ppg reflex is more like a 'get out the way sky!' type feeling. On hot summer evenings, I tend to gravitate to the slower and gentler pg wing. My next wing will be a wing with pg in mind. Thanks for the video, good information for sure!

Fantastic video! I see a couple posts each day on the Facebook group that I think these videos would be great for.

Beautiful video, Miro! Such awesome flying footage! Very focused information (as usual)! Excellent comparison and perspective of the two flying fields. I love both paragliding and Paramotoring too!! Also, in USA both are self-regulated meaning you can fly Federal Aviation Administration FAR103 ultralight rules without an aviation license. I too, strongly suggest to get the best training you can (continuously take SIV) as there’s serious risks related to ultralight aviation. Love Laugh Live!!!

Great video. UA-cam isnt a stand alone instructor but the hundreds of hours I watched before training made everything click into place a lot faster at the training center.

Would it be better to learn paragliding first or paramotor first?

If you have that option I think it’s better. But not necessary.

I'd suggest to learn whichever one yuo think you'd prefer. Or perhaps, gravitate to the one thats more applicable to your home area and schedule. Imho, it's hard to beat ppg, when any field larger than 100', is a potential airport...
