    Always have to wear my bracelets a little loose because my wrist swells quite a bit, so when I’m inside having a dinner my watch flops more than I’d like, but once I get moving my bracelet will almost be too tight sometimes lol, it’s a never ending battle between two micro adjust slots on my clasps

    • @ChronometerCheck
      @ChronometerCheck  11 місяців тому +5

      Yeah, it is definitely a struggle if you live somewhere hot/humid, when going from AC > outside, or the reverse. Have to size for the largest your wrist will swell, or experiment with straps you can adjust on the fly

    • @IEdjumacate
      @IEdjumacate 7 місяців тому +1

      This is why i love rubber straps for everyday wear. Sometimes I feel like metal bracelets can be too “blingy” for more casual outfits & if my wrist swells (which it does a lot like yours), I can easily adjust it on the fly.

    this is actually good advice. but with the micro adjustments you dont need a special tool. (secrets given away) just use a safety pin or blunt needle to push the bar end in on one side and slide it across 1 spot then do the same to the other side. repeat again for 2 holes adjustment and again for 3. i work on watches and at times i do use a safety pin :) and they work in many ways for watch repairs too

  • @paulogarcia9739
    @paulogarcia9739 7 місяців тому

    Here is the more complicated answer: It heavily depends on the watch. That means size, weight, the size of the links for bracelet watches, as well as the available adjustment options on the bracelet like microadjustments. Most of these descriptions of a "properly fitting" watch won't do you much good if your watch doesn't have enough options for customizing fit for different wrist shapes and sizes. Take Casio edifice, for example. you are more likely to find a sweet spot between too tight and too loose because they have 4 microadjustment holes. But for watches that have only 1 microadjustment or no microadjustment at all, that "sweet spot" may not even exist for some, and you would either have to settle for something a little tight or something loose.

    my gf got me a watch that's difficult to adjust. So I tried getting a different bracelet for it and found that it is neither a 24mm watch nor a 22mm watch. After I've finally decided to try 3D printing a bracelet for it, I've found that it fits a 23mm bracelet and I can't find a bracelet for this anywhere :/ I also couldn't get the watch to be tight enough with this print no matter how I adjusted the file. So now I'm back to square one: A 23mm watch and unable to find a bracelet that fits it :(

    Biggest issue is the chunky weight of most watches now and the lack of good slim lightweight affordable automatic or quartz watches. Watch engineering is so far behind autos, aviation, and computers. Seiko and other mainstream companies just are not able to make a slim watch and there's something just not right about this. Consumers are dumb when it comes to large suvs. But at least sports cars are available for purchase. Watches just don't offer slim outside Skagen and Bering. Why can Scandinavia do this (or China) but everywhere else can't?

    Tight for me. And oversized for my 6½ wrist. I wear watches for myself, not for others. Garmin Fenix 6XPro and G-Shock GMW B5000D 1er.
    Im not offensive saying this but for me a watch is a (survival) tool.
    The most good looking for me is Orient Bambino but im always glad to see people with much more refined taste!
