ok less of a smartarse answer now. no plans drawn up. literally chalked out on a floor with string and right angle squares. Important thing to know for the design is what you're solving for. in my case it was (a) 1800x1800 canopy (b) axle/brakes/wheels same track as 150 Prado (c) +400 on front for box (d) longish-drawbar for easy towing. Regarding weights not sure what just the rolling chassis weights but I'd imagine around 350kg including axle and wheels. hope this helps!
Teenage kids, oh I still have that to look forward to (5 & 7 yo boys currently). In the process of builind my own "camper" and love taking my boys camping. Now subscribed. Thank you for sharing. Cheers
This is great. Thank you for sharing it with us. Looking to build my own one in the near future. What’s involved in registering it (what does it cost and what does it need) and what does it weigh?
thanks mate - the bloke that did the majority welding also did rego - Mick Coliazzi (C&P Coliazzi in Lansdale WA). Trailer owes me around 12 grand all in (excluding Engel). It weighs around 1100kg dry, rated for 1600kg
I'm in the middle of building my own camper trailer/toy hauler, I've just finished painting the chassis and now finalising the design before i continue! I can't believe the amount of new skills I've had to learn since starting this project and its far from done, but i'm already super proud of it! Great walk around video, anything you would change or do better if you could do it again?
Probably not cheaper than my build. I steered away from the cheap Chinese built trailers as historically they’ve had dodgy steel and highly questionable welding
Awesome set up Boz:) Just a tad green with envy..
2:45 this is also me every time I setup camp 😂
Absolutely love this very tidy trailer……very well done…bless you
Cheers! Stay tuned for more!
Love the trailer, well done, kudos to you, Dad doing projects with the kids. I cant agree with you more

This looks great, do you have details of plans used and what it weighs without all the bits, just the trailer?
That’s classified mate..

Good on you for taking it on!!
Only thing I’d do differently is to take the project on 10 years earlier when my sons were younger!
Are there any cheaper quality camping trailers available???
Probably not cheaper than my build. I steered away from the cheap Chinese built trailers as historically they’ve had dodgy steel and highly questionable welding
And outta curiosity @Boz_TOYS4DAD WHAT WAS THE TOTAL COST
What was the total cost of this build
Prob around AUD12k all in (excluding my time) but that’s counting some good 4WD show deals on the RTT and awning
@@Boz_TOYS4DAD that’s impressive I was looking at a store bought one it’s $23,000 nzd that’s $21,000 aud
