Yes! I wanted a style similar to the first pic and I ended up having to cut so much to make it stand up in the top and I later regretted it.
She did a great job, I never noticed how much a difference your hair had been in fullness since you started coloring it.

The hairstylist did a great job with the cut and the shape of the heart shaped style. I really like how she was transparent about how much length she would have to take off to achieve the look you wanted with the 1st style you picked and the 2nd picked. It is a beautiful curly hair cut.
I have gotten curly cuts for about 3 years now. It makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE in how hair falls. Love your cut, it's super cute

the shape is pretty! curly cuts sometimes look uneven to me because of our different hair textures thats the only thing that bothers me from personal experiences
This is the reason I will never have a curly cut. I have a thing about my hair having to be even. Than again a curly cut gives the hair shape and volume as the weight gets taken off.

Looks good! I’m down for a curly cut. But any time I do a wash and go and then stretch it out it shrinks as if I never stretched it! Natural hair is a nonstop job

💫✨Jaelen, Lyssaa is phenomenal bcuz she didn’t just go with what you initially wanted at face value, knowing that your length would be greatly reduced. I applaud 👏 her for informing you about, I guess, the difference in texture - the hair model having “kinkier” hair than you - hence, what would be required in order for you to achieve the pictured volume. 😊 When you realized that you didn’t want that deep a cut, I love that Lyssaa didn’t try to convince you to do otherwise! You have a beautiful, well-cared for mane and I’m sure she enjoyed working on it! I loved 🥰 the fresh, out-of-the-salon doo and when you “did you” and transformed it back n2 voluminous Jaelen ; 👏 “Yaaay!” was my immediate reaction. 😁 Query, though : Once the rinse/dye is completely gone, is the idea 💡 to grow your birth color as long as you can, with a specific length goal 🥅 in mind? Super-great video, btw. Thank you for carrying us along!

That shape looks great on you, it definitely compliments the frame of your face! I personally wouldn’t get a curly cut cause my hair has multiple curl patterns and I don’t want it to be uneven once it’s straightened or in a braid/twist-out style…a curly cut is ultimately for those who live by wash-n-gos 😅 and you can pull it off for sure
its a great cut! it is hard growing out hair faith and patience is the key along with a hair routine that works for you and your lifestyle.

I disagree with the stylist. I think you could have gotten the first look and that she underestimated your VOLUME, cause you have the plenty of it! That being said, I think she did a good job 🙏🏿! Thanks for sharing ❤!
I agree! The young lady in the photo actually has a looser texture than Natural Reign. I've seen some of her older hair videos on UA-cam, and it's all in the way you style your hair. What type of styler is used, etc. Plus, we all know a pick can do wonders when it comes to achieving volume.

It turned out really cute! I’ve never done a curly cut, but I’ve thought about it I’m just scared to lose length 😅 and I’ve heard that when your hair is layered it’s more prone to tangle because the curls are laying in each other 🤷🏽♀️ so idk if to still go for it or keep them all one length.

The color is fading fast because bleached hair is highly porous. The hair can't hold the modules so its gonna be easy get the colors in... And easy for it to come out

I do see a difference in your hair density is not as full as it was, but that’s OK things happen.
The cut looks cute and it has a nice shape.😁 No, I'm pretty sure I won't get a curly cut. While I think they are cute I'm not interested in them for myself. I don't want layers or shapes that can be created with the curly cut. Just a simple zero-degree cut is perfect for me.

Its cute but I think it would be cuter if she just cut it all off and start over again. Her texture looks so much more loose, less full and way thinner now after that bleach

@@16shontebabiie that’s y I say away from bleach. I’m already traumatized from hair relaxers and my hair already naturally thin.
It is so sad, that you have to say "No disrespect" when you ask a simple question!! It seems like NOBODY in the "natural hair community" likes honesty. YES her hair is ALOT thinner and broke off bad from bleaching!! And what's even sadder is people keep commenting saying her hair looks "healthy" when we can all see that it doesn't. Her curls are still beautiful and I am really enjoying watching her roots grow in!! I absolutely LOVE Ms. Jalen, her personality & content is amazing and she has one of the most beautiful heads of hair I've ever seen (curls, density, etc.) when its healthy at least!! I just don't understand why people (not her, people in general) can't admit when their hair is damaged. It's only hair, and it will grow back, but it seems like, if you ask or point it out, you're a "hater" or being "disrespectful" and that isn't the case at all!!

I flipped it up. I’m thinking about removing it.
I wouldn't do a curly cut only because I have three different hair textures/patterns (4a-4c) that all shrink differently. It would be awkward lengths when I wash or twist and uneven if I flatiron. I don't really flatiron my hair, but if I did it would be awkward layers after getting a curly cut.
Sorry to say that but it was sad to watch 😢. Your hair was so healthy and full few years ago 😢.
Hair grows back and we already know I know how to grow long healthy hair so I’m not worried.

Im also been trying to grow out my natural hair color( my ends are dyed blonde) everyone keeps telling me “ohhh you eventually need to cut it to get the dye hair to completely grow out” clearly you don’t need to do that. You can simply just transition it out the same as you do when transitioning out relaxed hair
Permanently dyed hair never reverts back to original hair color which is why they say that, but you are right. You can just transition and cut little by little like some people do when they are growing out their relaxer.
Love these videos but I’m a stylist and I don’t trust anything the stylist said at the beginning.
