That’s because loud sounds are not only louder than soft sounds, they sound different than soft sounds. How prominent which overtones are changes as you go soft, and that’s responsible for what you’re observing.
Man, I was thinking the exact same thing about her being able to create an "electric piano" sound on a grand piano. Sure, having a good instrument helps a lot (just think about how Michelangeli was so meticolous about the state of his pianos, especially during live performances and recordings) but as a pianist myself I know how much the 'touch' affects the resulting sound, and I love hers, very unique..
Have you ever noticed that when a singer holding a mic uncorks a really loud note they often pull the mic away from their mouth? Pulling the mic away from your mouth makes the sound softer, a lot softer, so why make a note louder and softer at the same time? Because the singer is looking for the timbre of the loud note without blowing their audience into the next room. It’s three in the morning and you’re changing radio stations. The first one has an old recording of Cousin Brucie on WABC in NY from the sixties and he’s shouting a mile a minute. You turn to the second one and hear: “That was Beethoven Symphony #3, the Eroica, as played by the Berlin Philharmonic under the baton of Herbert von Karajan.” You switch to the third and you hear, barely whispered: “That was…….Miles,….from……..Kinda Blue.” Now you go back, crank up the jazz DJ, listen to the classical DJ at a normal level, and turn Cousin Brucie way down, so the whispering guy is loudest and the shouting guy is softest. Do you have any trouble telling who’s shouting and who’s whispering? That’s a vocal manifestation of the phenomenon you’re hearing on the piano.
God exists, creation bears witness to it, but sin separates us from Him, and we sin, and deserve the hell, that is why He sent His Son Christ to live a Holy life, die on a Cross paying the penalty for our sins, saving His chosen ones of condemnation, dark powers and curses, reconciling us with God only by Faith in Jesus and His Sacrifice, *not by works,* so that no one can boast, Giving us Eternal Life, God bless you. For those who don't know the Key yet, is E flat major/C minor, is not just and ascending but also playing octaves higher, that makes the scale sound more lively (sorry for poor english)

Such a great tone from that piano. I wonder if she is just hearing the piano, or also additional sound coming from speakers when playing. I’ve noticed notes get lost on my old piano; I always hear every individual note she plays very clearly.
You could, but it would be much harder to maintain control and evenness of tone. When starting loud and clear, we'll have less to practice because we already started with a firm foundation, instead of needing to do everything all at once.
