James007HungerZone Ready to Rumble/Arquette as champ, Chucky's promo on the dog faced gremlin, Zeus (WWF, though), WcW had a ton if weird synergistic bullshit. Everything w KISS, the constant nonsense w tnt and whatever made for tv garbage they had Hogan in.
I found the Oklahoma gimmick to the be the worst. Sure the others were zany and wacky, but the Oklahoma gimmick was clearly insulting beloved Jim Ross and making fun of his Cerebral Palsy, even though despite his Cerebral Palsy, he is arguably the best wrestling announcer out there.
Although at the time the real Jim Ross was being treated as badly on WWE. Its not like Vince M ran to his defence, rather Mr McMahan bullied the real JR just as much as Vince R and co were with Oklahoma.
Bells Palsy can also be caused by a virus. I had an uncle that had at and a close friend of the family did as well. I know that Jim Cornette threatened physical violence on Vince Russo on that stunt.
How was the ShockMaster not on this list? The title says incident failures. And the ShockMaster though was a funny failure and ended up becoming a meme that still doesn’t change the fact that it was an instant failure.
Nice to see a shot of Mike Shaw as I originally knew him: Mukhan Singh of Karachi Vice, the evilist Punjabi stable ever to terrorize Stampede Wrestling. ;-) Seeing the legendary hockey and wrestling Play-by-play host Ed Whelan get pissed enough at the antics of their manager, leave his desk and start chasing his ass around the ring every once in a while was a classic part of the show.
Schemeteam100 is right The Renegade did defeated Arn Anderson for the TV Title and retained against Paul Orndorff twice. He lost it to Diamond Dallas Page. It did fail because he was billed to be the Ultimate Warrior. Unfortunately the real Warrior appeared in magazines and dispelled the rumors that The Renegade was The Ultimate Warrior.
Interesting note about WCW's Yeti. Per Ron Reis, Argentine wrestler Jorge Gonzalez (El Gigante in WCW and Giant Gonzalez in WWF) was originally scheduled return to WCW to play the Yeti, but health problems prevented him from doing it.
Mortis was actually cool it was adding wrath that things got odd (especially since EVERY MATCH THEY WRESTLED ON EVERY SHOW was a feud match) while that may be the norm today in the 90s this was NOT and variety was considered important. Missed: The Dog Stewart Pain (Yes the name was changed quickly after Payne Stewart's death but poor poor barry darsow Still a wrestling GOLFER!) The KISS Demon (Who almost SINGLE HANDEDLY BANKRUPTED WCW!!!) Seven (Which its worse it was scrapped before he even did a match...WTF) The Maestro...Who actually had a gaurenteed push in his contract because he liscenced the trademark to the Georgeous George name (He owned the gimmck as GGIII) for Savage to use on his pet bitch for 2 months (Sorry for language but when the first thing you do when he dumps you is a low budget solo porno...yeaaahhh) DO YOU GET WHY WCW WENT BANKRUPT The RENEGADE: Cant sign warrior? Hire some 20 year old long haired male stripper to act like him Big Bossman Joins the Guardian Angels...the hell?
Anyone else think they were going to call The Yeti originally The Mummy but then realized Universal Pictures(then making the 1999 remake) would sue their ass, so changed it to The Yeti?
I actually kind of liked the Black Scorpion gimmick. The "masked man attacks someone--who is behind the mask?" gimmick has been around for decades, and I thought that this was a fairly decent version of it. Flair didn't much care for it, but he seemed to enjoy it that night in the hotel!
When that guy made fun of good ol' JR's health problems I stopped watching. He's lucky someone didn't knockout his teeth for that. Totally over the line.
6:27 - I literally just watched Starrcade '90 last night. I could tell it was Flair immediately. Funniest Part: Paul E. Dangerously with The Skyscrappers! You forgot Friar Ferguson, my man! Still love this channel! Anything going on with BTT?
No Big Josh? I mean the dude danced with bears and was another epic fail from Jim Herd. Renegade, The West Hollywood Blondes, and The Maestro should also be on this list over Mortis. Also, why is it no one ever mention's Megadeth's abysmal performance on Nitro, we always hear about KISS, but none about Megadeth.
every luchidhor match that was on every Nitro show, only difference was a different winner every week , but none ever a champion, no promos because none could speak a word of english
First of all, Mortis was pretty awesome, and I think he had both great pageantry and solid in-ring ability. Second, where is the Shockmaster? Also, The Booty Man was a pretty abysmal gimmick that missed the list.
Poor Mike Shaw, stuck with Bastion Booger in WWF and Norman the Lunatic in WCW. If only WCW would just let him play Mahkan Singh, he'd have been a natural heel and had a good run.
I thought Mortis was cool as hell. The main problems with Mortis's run were... -He mostly only got matched repeatedly with Halloween-gimmick opponents like Glacier and The Cat. Very little diversity in his matchmaking -He didn't get a push and was basically forced to lose to everybody. Mortis's entrance was cool, his name was cool, his gear was cool, Kanyon was tall, and his moves were innovative and varied. His main problem was they didn't permit him to pin his opponents very often. Also, the Shockmaster belongs #1 at every list. You will notice that Shockmaster isn't on this list at all, but Mortis is.You tell me which gimmick failed more instantaneously: Mortis or The Shockmaster.
SegaCDUniverse ...Ikr, Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka matches in ECW were Legendary... that was a fued where each match was better than the last, even though they would do similar spots in each match, it was always escalated beyond what the previous match had done. those days were the best!
Black scorpion was Ultimate warrior. The clues were California where they both were from, and Tulsa where they were tag team partners in the UWF as the Bladerunners: Rock and Sting!
Sometimes I feel that people talk bad about wrestlers because they think they're supposed to. The Ding Dongs, the wrestlers not the gimmicks, were pretty damn good. An awful gimmick but no one was "falling asleep" because of their matches or skills.
WCW had Kevin Nash be OZ , Vinny Vegas and the Booker that was WCW ,buff bagwel and mom in a tag team match,vanhammer,p.n.news , WCW was one crazy place
Mortis had nothing to do with the demise of the Blood Runs Cold gimmick. The nWo took off and they didn't have the TV available for that storyline and they were all repackaged with the odd person out being Glacier.
And HUGH.E.RECTION (or captain Rection as he was later named to avoid legal ripercussions)!!!!!!! You could just pick anyone who was repackaged by Vince Russo... Even Vampiro, he was portrayed as a real vampire, complete with boold shower...
The Elite Club I don't know how old you are but, I watched WCW every week back then. He was referred to as General Rection. I didn't watch that video you posted because it was over an hour long. Go back & watch footage not some promo, I can assure you he went by General Rection.
I suggest you shoud take some time watch the video because it's really fun, you'll be much thankful if you didn't know those guys... The guy himself, in the promo calls himself Captain Rection (and i vaguely remeber at least a card later on with that name on) that's why I call him so... But let's say that WCW at the time wasn't exactly consistent in his content (he may as well forgot his name and changed it mid-story).
Your content is getting a lot better. Now all you have to do is get rid of that awful trap remix of the Takers theme music that starts off all of your videos. Other than that, thanks for the entertaining uploads.
Wasn't Norman the Lunatic actually kinda popular? I mean not main event but a solid mid card who the fans liked quite a bit? Wouldn't call him a failure. Especially seeing you missed ones like Shockmaster, and Captain Mike Rotunda.
I would have to say the Laughing Man. I liked La Parka actually. He always hit people with chairs. When WCW was God awful they called him the "Chairman of WCW".
Dungeon of Doom was a great concept for that time. If Mike had said in WCW as Norman the Lunatic the character was getting very over with kids at the time instead that Dumbass Jim Herd fired Mike Shaw while he was drawing money and he went to WWF as Friar Ferguson then turn to Bastion Booger.
I actually like the Dungeon of Doom. Say what you will about the gimmicks, but you had some EXTREMELY talented wrestlers in it. Vader, Big Show, Giant Haystacks, The Wizard (King Curtis Iaukea), Earthquake, Kamala, One Man Gang, Boss Man, Meng, Barbarian, Konann, Bill Demott, Taskmaster, Lex Luger, Hell even Brutus Beefcake was pretty talented. it was full of talented wrestlers that just got hit with terrible gimmicks.
Norman was a good character, especially when he turned babyface. The Dungeon of Doom was much better than they give them credit for, Kevin Sullivan was a genius. The worst gimmick ever? Vince Russo acting like he could run the company.
Mortis would be a popular character these days as his character and older matches is getting positive attention on UA-cam. If only he was booked better and was portrayed by someone more talented than Kanyon he would be a very popular gimmick.
Norman the Lunatic actually started to get over to a degree but Mike Shaw fell victim to some locker room politics. For some reason Ole Anderson hated Mike Shaw so when Ole got the book again he killed any momentum that the character had built.
Wrestlecrap wasn't just about WCW. It had plenty of WWF gimmicks in there as well. I think you may be thinking of RD Reynolds other book -- the Fall of WCW.
Mortis and LA Parka were my tag champs on WCW Revenge
WeizHerGigBuddy nice pairing
I used to love La Parka. The Chairman of WCW.
La Parka, Mortis and Yuji Nagata were my go to guys in Revenge
Laparka died today was it that laparka or another one
@@pika23 It was a different La Parka that died, the original WCW La Parka now works as LA Park

Chucky interfering in an interview of Rick Steiner. That was awful
@@mikemiken1963 100% approve this!
RoboCop should be in the hall of fame. So should David Arquette the former wcw heavyweight champion.
You forgot the shockmaster
Randy Morgan if there is, because tjey miss out on there monetarisation!
Dustin Howell Nobody forgets the Shockmaster. He goes without saying.
I think he didn't include Shockmaster because that debacle failed FASTER than instantly.
no shockmaster did his job....he shocked everyone in disbelief
I was really expecting that to top the list. Too easy, maybe?
Mortis was awesome. Video failed RIGHT THERE! dude was a WCW Revenge LEGEND! LOL!
Was he a mummy? Was he a Yeti? Turns out he was a Super Giant Ninja!
Neither, he was "The Yet-tay!!!!"
Every time I see Zeus all I can think about is "Man, my grandmama gave me that chain."
I found the Oklahoma gimmick to the be the worst. Sure the others were zany and wacky, but the Oklahoma gimmick was clearly insulting beloved Jim Ross and making fun of his Cerebral Palsy, even though despite his Cerebral Palsy, he is arguably the best wrestling announcer out there.

cerebral palsy is no,where close to down syndrome
Ed Ferrara is a classless piece of shit.
Eastside Show SCP i just found it annoying
Bells Palsy can also be caused by a virus. I had an uncle that had at and a close friend of the family did as well. I know that Jim Cornette threatened physical violence on Vince Russo on that stunt.
i thought mortis was bad ass back in the day. still one of the coolest masks ever
How was the ShockMaster not on this list? The title says incident failures. And the ShockMaster though was a funny failure and ended up becoming a meme that still doesn’t change the fact that it was an instant failure.
Had Shockmaster not tripped, still would have been a disaster.
You have to admit the Hunchbacks idea had a creative twist on it
(they couldn't be pinned because the hump would keep one shoulder off the mat)
I'm actually really surprised you forgot the worst gimmick
---- Kevin Nash as booker.
I'm personally digging through some booking decisions for A Vince Russo series.
What a tough road Kevin Nash have to go thought, from Oz to NWO
Sir Alonne Vincent Han he'll you can't even count oz anymore since Nash revealed that oz was over in Japan....somehow?
Yes, definitely! WCW's worst decision ever!!
Russo & Ferrera, wosrt ever!
How could anyone forget The Shockmaster? He failed so quickly and so fantastically, he was a success lol
WCW was cursed from the get go when they hired Pizzman Hurd.
I actually liked Mortis
Me too. Loved him even more as Kanyon.
Nice to see a shot of Mike Shaw as I originally knew him: Mukhan Singh of Karachi Vice, the evilist Punjabi stable ever to terrorize Stampede Wrestling. ;-) Seeing the legendary hockey and wrestling Play-by-play host Ed Whelan get pissed enough at the antics of their manager, leave his desk and start chasing his ass around the ring every once in a while was a classic part of the show.
wasn't Mortis around before Wrath? I thought Mortis and James Mitchell brought Wrath in to help defeat Glacier
Chase Oliver your right man that's true
Yeah, which makes blaming Mortis even more pointless.
The Renegade should have made your list
without a doubt. a gimmick so bad it cost a man his life.
Remember the "American Males?!"
Schemeteam100 No, the Renegade defeated Mr.Wonderful Paul Orndorff for the T.V. title.

I was shocked that the Shockmaster didn't make the list. That gimmick died in less than a second after his debut
So we're just gonna forget about "The Juicer" Beetlejuice gimmick? Probably for the best I suppose.
I remember liking Arachnaman. In my defense I was 12.
Same mental age as WCW's Booker.
Brad Armstrong again!
¡Viva La Parka!
Arachnaman looked more like the shocker more than Spider-Man
Once again a fantastic video. The best wrestling channel on UA-cam!

WCW turned in to "How to bring anime/manga M.U.S.C.L.E. to western audience poorly". Hence, this list.
Who needs the WWE Network when you've got Wrestlelamia :)
The 90s was awesome. I love all of it.

The Dungeon of Doom: The 90’s answer to Paul Jones Army.
