Just an FYI, the Canadian Reserves are extremely well prepared. Almost all our gear is better than the Reservist gear in the States. The Lee-Enfield is an extremely good rifle is great in extremely cold conditions and it's easy to maintain.
The best northern troops we got ask any who have served with them in our armed forces, we may have a good respectful laugh! But make no mistake they are serious about what they do! God bless and watch over them all!
I think what should be posted are views of appreciation for these volunteer troops as opposed to bitch fests! An amazing example of how people in very remote areas aid their communities and country at the same time, by the "services" they provide be it the eyes & ears of the CF in the north, to Search and Rescue emergencies and TEACHING others how to survive in Arctic conditions. Thanks Rangers for all that you do!
@theupperdec yeah and there damn accurate and a trained operator can fire it as fast as a semi-auto its called a mad minute, 20-30 well aimed shots in 30 seconds
@themostbeatifull I remember watching a video that said that the war against the French was over, and they brought the veteran troops from there over to the US.
@jeeholim0824 Well, from what I've learned in a "Military History of the World" class at Ottawa U, is that the regiments who attacked the White House were mainly composed of canadian militias, under the command of the French-Canadian general Charles-Michel d'Irumberry.
The concept of the Rangers is good. The actual number of them is far too low. They need to be increased in number by a huge amount. All most every man and woman living up there needs to be a member and paid well. No alcohol or drugs and be in average physical condition and your in . Then trained and given jobs like tending to some heavy artilleries post . They need more then basic rifles to do the job . Nearly silent snowmobiles and a great many machines designed for that area of the world . Russia has got the northern equipment done pat now so Canada really needs to up the game
According to Wikipedia, it's the .303, though they're apparently phasing out the older rifles these days for ones that use 7.62. Of course, Canadian military procurement has always sucked, so who knows if they've actually got them yet.
You do realize that York is like, literally a 5 minute distance away from America right, while Washington is much further away. Plus, no "you" didn't burn down several parliament buildings. They were filled with gunpowder and lit, killing a gross majority of the Americans even if we lost the parliament buildings. Our complete sacking of Buffalo would be the equivalent to the razing of York.
Also your miltary ain't doing so hot anymore, sure, you got the technology and the money, but the superiority ends there, here's the other leaders in terms of military capabilities: TRAINING- UK, Canada MANPOWER: Russia, North & South Korea, China, India TANK/ARTILLERY/etc. QUALITY: Germany SPECIAL FORCES QUALITY: UK-SAS, CANADA-JTF2, RUSSIA-SPETZNAZ. SNIPERS: UK, CANADA. However, these are all the countries that either match the US or are superior, in most terms the are superior.
@FluXez00 The natives were here the longest then the french were next. The french set up colonies on the east coast (Acadians) and lived in peace with the natives until the British came. Once the Brits settled in they massacred the french and sent them back to Europe... We all know what they did to the natives.
@FluXez00 The Americans just have such a powerful military, our resources are basically ruled and controlled by them. I have my doubts, and Canada won't be in a good shape even after a war happens.
If you have a problem with Canadian's why watch Rick Mercer? There's view's, opinion's and things I don't like and generally I just don't watch them. Since 1812 both our countries have both bled for many of the same causes. Maybe people should focus on that as it's those causes that allow us the freedom to sit and bitch on youtube.
@andrewm153351 Lake michigan was always in the states, and the rest are completely owned by Canada. I'd soooooooooo rather live here YHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA i was there and I was only free to eat burgers AHAHAHAHAHah
Also, you exploit resources when you need them, not because you can, and our disarmament was in no way involved with the US, it was our own descision, encouraged by our great former PM Pierre Trudeau, who held the long-enduring belief that Canada is a peace-keeping nation, also you should see the terrible abuses your military is committing over there in Afganistan! I could list close to a hundred, but you can search them
The most amusing informative documentary I've ever had the pleasure to watch!
All kidding aside we cannot thank the Canadian Rangers enough for their service.
"they have been doing it since 1947 and we have yet to be invaded" ROFL XD
IS WHY !!!!
God bless the Canadian Rangers!

They are purely there for basic reconnaissance and military presence, why is that hard for people to understand
Bless those Volunteers and Reservists!

we still use WWII rifles lol
A good job!
jeez, WW2 rifles? Government should give them better equipment. They are in harsh conditions
Lee Enfield. Is the current issue chambered in .303 or 7.62 Nato?
According to Wikipedia, it's the .303, though they're apparently phasing out the older rifles these days for ones that use 7.62. Of course, Canadian military procurement has always sucked, so who knows if they've actually got them yet.
+Devin Smith new rifles procured, and the rangers love then , designated c19
303 , two different calibres would be inefficient.
Rick Mercer too fucking hilarious!!!!!
...And man can you snore lol
Ridicule is often a sign of misunderstanding or jealousy.
@andrewm153351 HAhahhahahahahahaa you guys thought you were gonna free us, but instead we swatted you away like flies BBHAHAHAHAHAHA
I didn't know that Canadians could have weapons
@jeeholim0824 It was canadian troops, under the command of a french canadian general...
$900,000 for this in Vancouver lol
considering the Rangers an actual military presence is ridiculous, they only get 9 weeks of training
Wait so the Rangers do what again

these guys are like the arctic nannies, just looking over things keeping a presence lmfao.
@andrewm153351 Half of what was oregon got taken by Canada by the way HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA
come watch rick and 'the rangers'

my mother has cancer and she did not ''FLOCK'' to the US we have just as good medical equipment as you we dont have as much but we have it
303?
.303 Caliber Rifle.
thx
@FluXez00 The Americans just have such a powerful military, our resources are basically ruled and controlled by them. I have my doubts, and Canada won't be in a good shape even after a war happens.
@andrewm153351 Canada is owned by Britain as much as much as Teksas is owned by Meksiko. Oh wait, not even! HAHAHAHAHA
@jmirahmadi Unfortunately he's unbelievably right... :(
haha is he using a simpson?
@jeeholim0824 Quantity over quality. Both countries won't be in a good shape after a war happens. No country would be.
@andrew153351 here's all we'd have to do: 1: freeze oil, natural gas, and uraniumtrade to the States
@andrewm153351 As if the white house was the only thing we burnt down. HAHAHAHAHAHAH. why couldn't you keep it?
Canadian militia.
They kill animals?!!!!!
Of course there is no other food source but to hunt and kill for food
Funny thing is those were horrible shots, the aim is to have tight groupings.

It's probably better you're ignoring him. Look his name up on google. This guy is a joke.
