For me, it was because piano players (at least, the ones in my town) love bringing up that song because of the title.

I'm one of the rare few who does remember watching this as a kid, though not with a lot of specificity about particular episodes. I remember it airing on Saturday mornings, around the same time as "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" and "Shari Lewis and Lambchop," and I think I saw it before the film. As cheesy and dreadfully '90s as the show is is, Harry himself is one of the best special effects of all time in my book, and for that alone I'm glad they got more use out of the costume and animatronics rather than it rotting in storage. There were worse things to watch as a kid in the early '90s at least. I was glad to see this video and go down memory lane.
As an aside, so many video reviews rely on hyperbole and exaggerated disgust; I really appreciate the evenness of your reviews and that when you want to express frustration with something, you use clips of a better version of that media as a reaction. It's funny without being over-the-top. Keep on doing what you do, Joe!

I vaguely remember watching this show, but the reason I’m commenting on this is WHY I ended up watching the show. When I was 10 my family and I took a trip to Universal Hollywood. While on the tram tour we rode past the set for this TV show and the actor playing Harry came out and got on the tram car with us. I’ll never forget getting to see that amazing costume in person.

I remember watching the show as a kid, all it needed to have my attention was Harry and with that it most certainly delivered. I guess you could say it was a failure as an adaptation of the movie, but considering it lasted 72 episodes without getting cancelled (apparently it has an acutal series finale and a 2 parter no less), I'd say it was a success in its own right.

I was a huge fan of the movie, too... in 1991. And then the sitcom came out, and it was like someone read my tiny mind and made more Harry and the Hendersons. I watched as many episodes of it as I could. The opening music and harry in the cross-hairs makes me SO nostalgic!

Now heads up, I know that some people like Problem Child but to me it was stupid but not in a fun way, unlike the 1993 Mario movie it was stupid but at least was a fun kind of stupid.

I remember visiting Universal Studios in LA back in '99 and one of the attractions was the behind the scenes of Harry and the Henderson . At one point they would invite a member of the audience up the stage to record a roar. As they were were distracted, a cast member dressed in Harry's suit would sneak up behind them and let out a roar at the same time they were trying to roar.

Great video! I'm from Spain and I remember watching this show quite often for a while. In "La Dos" from our second national TV channel We used to get some TV content in the afternoon for kids, like cartoons. After the cartoons they slowly increase the "adult" content, first with this kind of sitecoms and later more adult oriented sitcoms like "Married... with children". So like you imagine this was one of the first ones to be in that transition. I was a huge fan of Alf (here didn't airing Alf till the 90's!) so this was perfect for me. I never knew it was base in a movie. When I discoverd it was a movie I actually thought it was the movie from TV show and no the way it actually was. I had a soft spot for this TV show. I hope my english was understandable enough.
Thank you for your videos, they always insteresting to watch.

Weirdly enough, I saw the sitcom first before I saw the film (it was on USA NETWORK in the mornings, if I remember right ). I only saw maybe three episodes (I remember the baseball game the most where Harry trying to help the son's team went but keeps nearly getting caught). I discovered the movie later in the early 90s, as the Disney Channel aired it A TON in the summers). Throughout his near-4 decades makeup career, Rick Baker still calls HARRY his favorite creation, although there was a controversy in giving Baker an Oscar nod (despite him winning the very first Best Makeup Oscar, the voter committee tried to ban HARRY from being nominated as they didn't consider it "MAKEUP" because of the radio control mechanics involved in the head appliance).
