- Hi, in this video tutorial I show you my stretchy elastic cast on that I always use for hats in my knitting patterns. You can use this method in any of my hat knitting patterns.

You are by far my favorite designer. All your patterns are amazing. Thank you so much for the video. Greetings from Spain 🇪🇸
Great video! It’s very clear and easy to understand. I’ll definitely try this with my next hat.
Thank you, so happy to hear you've found it helpful.
Thank you. I'll try this for my next hat. I love the stitch pattern you're using on your hat. What is it called please?
This is super 🥰
Thanks Deborah, so happy to hear you've enjoyed this tutorial.
Wonderful! Thank you so much!
What is this cast on called? Is it elastic cast on.
How do you not twist all the stitches. I've watched this a hundred times and I'm so confused how you're not twisting it all the way around.
I think she's stopping them twisting over, by blocking them with the thumb of her right hand as she makes the new stitches.
I also have watched this repeatedly to see what happens after she make the traditional long tail cast on stitch.... She then does her own special stitch.
This special stitch, under the upper and under the lower yarns ... (Here's the magic!) the stitches on the right needle are allowed to ROTATE around the needle! The end result is a twist of the yarns that provide the separation required to create the stretch.
See if you don't agree, @katiehoward5116
