    How do you not twist all the stitches. I've watched this a hundred times and I'm so confused how you're not twisting it all the way around.

      I think she's stopping them twisting over, by blocking them with the thumb of her right hand as she makes the new stitches.

      I also have watched this repeatedly to see what happens after she make the traditional long tail cast on stitch.... She then does her own special stitch.
      This special stitch, under the upper and under the lower yarns ... (Here's the magic!) the stitches on the right needle are allowed to ROTATE around the needle! The end result is a twist of the yarns that provide the separation required to create the stretch.
