Thing gives you a holy, madly in love vibe from top to bottom. You just watching this dude praise and confess his love for his woman in front of 3 different religion, while she is just busy smiling to his playfulness and focused on praying and doing her normal stuff.
The two personas are a big part of the plot for this movie. In this movie, after their wedding(kind of an arranged marriage), the guy finds out that his wife does not like him very much. In order to change this, he enters the dance class his wife is in and becomes her partner with a disguise to get closer to her. The persona with the mustache is how he normally looks and the other one is his disguise. She ends up falling for her dance partner without knowing he is her husband.

Imagine the wife he love the most fall in love with another man which he created a different personality just to make her happy bcs she not happy with her marriage
What I thought was if husband shred all his inhibitions and openly expressed his love , she wouldn't go and seek love somewhere else.
The personality he created is his true self, but his conciousness chains him that society expects him to behave a matured way and he doesn't have the courage to break that expectation.

He changed to a happy go boy to be a partner of his wife in competition. She doesn't know that it's her husband and starts loving him. But eventually she gets to know about her love to her husband. And The husband revels his identity to her and win the competition.

Man just watching his now takes me back to my childhood, vivid memories when I first watch it like when I was what 5-6 maybe 7. But the story does get kinda dark. To explain why he was switching his style I think you guys got it the other way around. The older guy really is how he lives his life because he is older than her and the younger, cool swag self is what he wishes to be in front of her. I think she was cheating with him in her dance class (he disguises himself to fit her cool image and she unknowingly falls in love with the new guy not knowing it's really her husband all along, which seems very problematic to me since that's just tryna romanticize her will to cheat). Like sure it was him all along in both characters but in her eyes it was different dude with no resemblance to her old, boring husband at home.

To answer your question with the switch personalities. He switches between disguises because the original version he feels like she doesnt love him because he's boring/unattractive. So he changes himself and under disguise goes to her dance gym, to see if she would fall in love with him. I'm not Indian, and when I watched it had no subtitles, so I assume that's what's happening.
