So the potential slayers are the girls the Watcher’s Council identifies as those who could be called to become a slayer. Think of Kendra and how she had a watcher even though she wasn’t activated. Buffy is just one of the many slayers they miss and did not identify.
Because Buffy's death in The Gift did not create a new Slayer it is believed that for the purposes of ascension Faith is the Slayer. For the purposes of Legend, Buffy is the greatest Slayer. The longest lived and the most accomplished as far as is known.

This is not a spoiler- it’s just a matter of remembering- the first is the same evil that haunts Angel in season 3 ( episode Amends) and is appearing as Jenny and other people that were killed by Angelus… THE FIRST is the ultimate original evil and can only appear as people that have died….it can’t touch you or hurt you physically but it can play with your mind ( just like it did with Angel- trying to get him to commit suicide)…

you are correct to be confused regarding Buffy and her connection to the slayer line. Different characters say different things. We never saw a new slayer emerge when Buffy died at the end of season 5. This implies that Faith is the one who's death will activate the next slayer. Buffy, however, repeatedly tells the potentials that her death will activate one of them.

This is a minority opinion, but I do know others agree, so no flames please.
The reason why I dislike Rona in this episode more than Kennedy in any episode is because I'd rather listen to Kennedy (who eventually admits she is a brat and is part of the 1% to boot - I expect her attitude, as a character slightly more fleshed out to complain about things everyone does in this series and in real life) over the _we're all gonna die so what's the point in even trying_ attitude Rona has in just this one episode. Kennedy is a dimmensional character I understand. Rona is a one note annoyance.
I don't like Kennedy but she is nowhere NEAR as annoying and whiny as Rona.
