Been checking out your channel, you've got some decent vids and you seem like a good bunch of lads. That been said I'm not a fan of the glassing through your rifle scopes. I'm sure the guns were safe but you should only really be looking through those scopes when you're in a good shooting position aiming at your target when you intend to take a safe shot. I'm not trying to be negative and I'm sure you take safety seriously, but I hunt that area and I don't like the thought of someone pointing a gun in my direction safe or not. Would you? We're all in this together, videos of guys pointing rifles all over the hills will give all hunters a bad name. Cheers.
Hi Matt, Absolutely understand your concerns! “Pointing our rifles all over the hills” seems a little bit extreme though…. We take gun safety really seriously, and can ensure that we only looked through a rifle once the area we were looking in had been glassed through a set of binoculars. We always adhere to the 7 golden rules of firearm handling, and only point our firearms in a safe direction at ALL TIMES. We will take this on board and try to represent hunters better in future. Cheers.
Look I'm not trying to sit here behind a phone like I know everything about hunting or firearms because I don't, I'm a new hunter myself. I'm not trying to call you out either, I would've PM'd you if I could. Equally if you were on private land or in areas where I don't hunt I probably wouldn't have said anything. But judging by your other videos we hunt the same areas. First two rules though, not sure that's how you should treat a loaded firearm and safe direction could also be argued. As for a bit extreme there's a point in this video where you have two guns pointing in two different directions, and that's only a 5 second section of your trip. If I was doing something that someone else didn't agree was a 100% safe I would expect them to tell me. Looking through binos first doesn't really reduce the risk, just set the guns down or leave them on your back and glass through binos or a spotting scope. Eliminate the risk, everyone goes home safe. Cheers.
