I now drive local but I spent 10 years driving otr or over the road .every time i would pass this monument that you can see from the interstate i always gave a little salute and said good job murph. been my hero my whole life
I'm very glad to hear that he has been your hero your whole life. He has been mine ever since I learned his story. Thank you, Audie Murphy. and Thank you, Carlprince2866. :)
The price of victory is so high. The price of freedom is righteous diligence. Thank you Audie Murphy for paying such a high price so that we could have freedom in America. May those of us who have Freedom be diligent to keep it. Thanks for posting Brad.
I so appreciate your sharing Audie Murphy's story. He's been a hero of mine for decades. I did not know about his statue. Happy he will not be forgotten! Thank you, Brad. 😊
I have great admiration for men like Audie Murphy, but I feel as though I'll come to tears when I realize what he and too many others have experienced. God have mercy.
Be nice and be kind . I'm glad to hear those words been hearing it alot more. We could solve so much if we carried this wisdom in our heart's. Thank you kindly for yours. And I say to all like Paul Harvey said. Good Day.
If were are all just a little nicer and kinder to our fellow man, it will rub off onto the next person. The world will be a much better place. Thank you for the kind words, Toby. :)
Thanks for doing one on Audie Murphy! Him and Alvin York were two Americans I revered. I even wrote a paper on Audie in college. There used to be a memorial to him at Clothing and Sales at Ft. Hood. I wish people like the two I mentioned were taught about in grammar schools nowadays instead of the garbage they teach. Thanks Brad
I had the pleausre of meeting Audie Murphy a long long time ago at a VFW event in Dallas Texas. My uncle Who had been a POW from Wake Island introduced me to Audie Told me Audie was a hero but then Audie told my uncle he was a much better hero than he had ever been I haven't forgot that as long as I have lived If I remember I was around 10 or 11 at that time Audie asked me if I was going to join the Military and to answer that question I said Yes I was and I was going to be a Medic and thats what happened for 21 years I went into the Army when I was 18 years and 7 days in 1967 Yes I suffer from Combat related PTSD I have most of the things Paul Harvey was talking about I also went through PTSD treatment 3 times the demons are and will always be there in my mind But I have learned how to calam them down to the most part .The headaches are the worst Gonna go for now
For some reason he states near the end of the video that the statue is located near Greenville Tennessee but he meant to say Greenville Texas. Just an FYI.
Yeah, you caught it... Greeneville TN hosts the tributes to Andrew Johnson, Davy Crockett, and Nathan Greene (Revolutionary War Hero.) I'll bet you can find some examples in AJ and NG that demonstrate how war damages people. It's interesting that in the Biblical Greek & Hebrew, many of the root words translated as "sin" have root meanings of "broken, damaged, scarred, marred, rotted, harmed, disturbed, imperfect, defaced"...you understand...
No mention of his Hollywood time but that does pale in comparison of his real life❤ All soldiers are taught and conditioned to kill but no deconditioning for home life😢
Oh yeah. He was in some great films. I probably should have covered his time in Hollywood. It's very sad that soldiers were not "deconditioned," as you said, for home life. Certain members of my family who were in Vietnam would certainly agree with you. :)
I made a mistake and said the statue was in Greenville, Tennessee rather than Greenville, Texas. I'm sorry for my mistake. Thank you for pointing that out to me. I noted it in the description as well. :)

Thank you Audie Murphy. ...and Thank you, Franklin and Linda, for listening. :)
The rest of the story broadcasts were always fascinating. Thanks for sharing, Brad.
I'm very glad you're enjoying listening. :)
How I so miss Paul Harvey. His way with words, and his readings made my days. Thank You for bringing him back.
I miss his broadcasts too. I'm glad people still enjoy hearing them. :)

You're right. It boggles my mind to think of what they and other wartime veterans experienced. :)
What a story. You never know what a person is goin thru. Thanks for sharing
That's exactly right. We never know. Always be kind. :)
Great report on the rest of the story for Hero Audie Murphy. Great lesson, never jump to conclusions.
Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. :)

I agree. Their heroism is often overlooked. I think I was in my thirties when I learned about Audie Murphy. :)
@@BradDison I would never have guessed in your 30's. You must have played catch up real quick to get where you are.
I wish I was still in my 30s. hahaha. :)
@@BradDison I am still 25 x 2. lol
Hero that really never came home and he will live in my heart. RIP.
Absolutely. He was a true hero. :)
The monument and museum are in Greenville, Texas, not Tennessee.
I'm sorry if I misspoke. Thank you for pointing out my error. :)

Humans aren't born to kill, war is hell on earth, war rearranged his life sad but dam he was badass

I knew that was Audie Murphy.Lucky guess
You know your history. :)
He passed away on my birthday, rip both of you.

How did he come up with all those stories? I specially like the one about the devil
His son, Paul Harvey Jr., wrote them. :)
👍
Thank you. :)
Ok brad, I'll try to be kind.
Thank you. hahaha. :)
I would like to know in what universe that ANY place in Tennessee is just an hr away from DFW?????

Thanks for the vids. As a kid I looked forward to listening to PH.

Did you serve in the military? Just curious. If so, thank you for your service. :)
