Love your story! Back in 1980 thru 82, I worked at a car wash that at every lunch time, I would go pick up lunches, usually Lee's famous fried chicken dinners for $1.65 ea and Hurry back so we all could sit up front in lounge and owner, Lou Wolf would turn on PAUL HARVEY and we enjoy lunch as we listened and learned!! As humble n simple as this sounds....it was some of the very best times in my life and I dearly miss those days! 😢 I had the world in my hands and I didn't know it...😮.....!

I will never forget the sponsorship advertisement at the conclusion of the show. "Paul Harvey news and comment brought to you by Wells-Lamont, the company stubborn about quality". I find my self saying that phrase all the time! Great memories!😊

My dad was a homebuilder in the early 70s, but when the housing crash of '74-'75 hit, he lost everything. He bided his time selling cars, and waited for the right time to start building again. In the mid 80s, he'd had enough of selling cars and decided to start building houses again. That summer, he put me to work doing anything on the jobsite he felt a teenage boy could do. I have so many fond memories of listening to Paul Harvey at noon during lunch, and the rest of the story on the ride home. Sometimes we'd laugh together, and other times, we'd both say, "Huh, what about that?"
Precious memories. Yes, he had an absolutely captivating voice and delivery! I love the English language, and I'm afraid that if it doesn't have a hashtag or 4 letter word, it doesn't interest people nowadays.

Yes, days on the farm starts as early as 5am the cows are usually milked by 7-730am, all 120 of them, big black and white Holsteins, breakfast between 7-8am: grits, eggs, bacon, sausage toast/biscuits. Lunch at 12noon til 1-130pm and back to work by 2pm. Then it really gets stretched out, depending on what you're doing you could rap it up between 5-730pm. Sometimes during planting and harvesting season you can option depending on the weather to go all night with the tractor or combine headlights on.

Everyday during my Construction years as a Electricain, which numbered 42. I tried to listen to this mans words of wisdom. He was a man of notorious,
Well spoken, in the English language.
But what carried me further was what he said to me one day....Do you know what you are doing? Puzzled, I replied " no"..he said "you and others are building America...and that is something to be Proud of "....I am now 70 yrs old...And my reply now is " I Love my God...I love my Country and I Love
    Myself...I am a Vietnam Veteran...
What about you? Do you have anything to be Proud of????

When people ask me which religion i belong to. I refer them to "A Letter From God ". That's my religion. Mr. Harvey came from 5 generations of Baptist Preachers, but he thought outside the box. He was still a devout Baptist. But, he got it. He truly got it. I've never heard a better piece about religion, since i heard that beautifully written piece by him.

I respect Paul Harvey, for his conviction in his beliefs, ability to articulate why he was so committed to his convictions, through his topical stories and a mindful conservative vision. He also had a great capacity and brilliant mind capable of analyzing both sides of his vision, through careful consideration. When he was wrong, he acknowledged it. He was the last honest voice of the now “long gone” GOP. Through vivid story telling he brought to life the images, in each individual’s human imagination. He was a true patriot that fought with the microphone, for his political choices, yet, with the heart of a true patriot-supported the elected president-as today’s conservatives’, in the darkness of greed and avarice do not. So many, good people have lost their way. We need a Paul Harvey today (not another Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly, Beck). RIP, Paul…

Your post is confusing. To be behind someone means to support them. Are you saying Paul Harvey would have supported Trump? I don't think so. Paul Harvey was a man of unassailable personal integrity, a man of deep Christian faith, a humble and intelligent man, and a man who always placed others before himself. In other words, the total opposite of the arrogant, self-absorbed, dishonest, incompetent, corrupt, and morally deficient Donald Trump. Paul Harvey would have been deeply troubled over the buffoon who currently occupies the White House.
BTW, it should be "would have been" not "would of been" - an important distinction, especially when commenting about someone like Paul Harvey who was so meticulous in his proper use of the English language. And what's with all the capital letters? And the typo errors?

Our economy is the best it's been in over 50 years, he got North Korea to give the remains of our soldiers back, has made great strides towards having peace on the Korean peninsula, moved the embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, got other countries in the UN to start paying their share saving us taxpayers billions. He has put America first, unlike Obama who virtually accomplished nothing other than doubling the national debt, downgrading or credit rating, and offering praise to criminal thugs while disrespecting police.

A full month before Pearl harbor: yet the media lead the public to believe that war really started with the declaration against Japan on December 8th, of 1941. The media has always driven public beliefs. An entity with that much power to shape public attitudes needs to be held accountable. The public believes at face value whatever they are hearing the most.

Just look up the history of the helicopter and it notes different versions of toy helicopters occurred during the 1700s and 1800s. Granted a working flying machine of a helicopter didn't happen until 1900s but toy versions did.
