    Hi mate, I have one cable coming down from the roof and I need to connect four TVs to it , will splitter works or there is easier way than connected wires ?

      If you have an RG-6 coaxial cable coming down, you will need splitters. There are two conductors in the coax and both have to be connected. The inner wire is a single 22 gauge copper wire the other is a silver colored braid that forms a shield which prevents unwanted signals from getting into your TV. Also you have to maintain a proper 75 ohm match throughout the entire system. Therefore you can not just twist the coax together. You will need some RG 6 "F" fittings and a four way splitter or some two way splitters. Using a four way splitter, all cables must come to a central location. The cable from the antenna connects to the input. The cables to the four TV's will connect to the four outputs. Depending on where the TVs are located, you could daisy chain them using the 2 way splitters. You could also use a "tap". Don't talk to someone in a hardware store as they are generally not knowledgeable in TV antenna equipment.

    Can two diferent signals (cable tv and tdt) be combined with a simple splitter, I tested and works but my concern is if it can damage the tv because of the two eletrica powers combined?

      TV antenna signals are measured in micro volts. If using an older analog TV, there must be a minimum of 1000 micro volts (on any channel) at the antenna terminals of the TV set for a good snow free picture. I liked to see 5 Db at the antenna terminals. 1000 micro volts is considered to be 0 Db. Every 3 Db = 2x the power. 1000 micro volts is equal to .001 volts or 1 mili volt. At these levels, many channels can be fed to the TV antenna terminals without damage. I assume, the new digital
      TV's require the same.

    I have a Sky Box and Freesat Box, I have one dish which I can use to watch either my Sky or Freesat. Will this work so I can switch my TV output to watch either my Sky or Freesat without me removing the two wires that come from dish that go in the Skybox and Freesat. I just want to change my output to watch either my Sky or Freesat without removing cables from the box.

    One dish tv antena with connect two set top box????
    Can i do it???at same time different channel.

      If its coming of a dish that uses an LMB then probably not as you need to put a duel LMB on the dish as it needs to switch the LNB The DC voltage power supply is fed up the cable to the LNB. Often by altering this voltage it is possible to change the polarization or, less commonly, the frequency band. Voltages are normally 13 volts or 19 volts. So you would have to run two coax's or a duel coax to achieve this.Hop it helps.

      +fixitdaz how to connect two tv in single set top box and watching different channel can you give any idea about that

    • @drago1943
      @drago1943 8 років тому

      +Abdul Kather you can do this with this splitter or a passive Splitter, however new boxes (freeview) can record 2 channels (or record one watch another) with only one input.

    I'm using a coax splitter to connect a few powered rabbit ears to my TV converter box. It really helps improve reception having more than one rabbit ears working for you. However, I just noticed it's marked input and output. My rabbit ears are connected to the output connections and the line to my converter box is connected to the input so I got it going in reverse. The splitter device doesn't really work in one direction, does it?

    • @robertpease259
      @robertpease259 6 років тому

      Splitters can be used as combiners by connecting in reverse. However, no matter which way you use it, there is at least a 3 Db signal loss from the 2 output ports to the input port. 3 Db is approx 1/2 as much power. In your connection, whatever the signal strength is coming into the splitter it will be cut down to 1/2 by the time it gets to the TV. For best results, a rabbit ears antenna's "ears" should be horizontal AND pulled out to the proper length for the wanted channel AND it must be broadside to the signal.

    You didn't seem to install a power booster that would actually leverage the power pass though splitter?

    This would have been better if the work being carried out was in shot during filming, also I didn’t hear anything about making sure the shielding was isolated from the inner core. I’m not sure why you would cut a perfectly good, factory made coax connector from the new lead, to put another one on, if they’re both male put a coax coupler on, simple. The last issue is that you said you were cutting 5mm of the outer sheathing and 4mm off the core sheath, the cuts made looked more like 25mm and 20mm. I think you need to redo the video taking the above into consideration.

    No offence and I am from Europe by the way, the European way of working with cable splitters, jacks and cable ends is the most fucked up things I ever seen.
    In North America it's cut the cable, strip and attach the connector with a connecter install tool on the wire it takes 5 seconds to do this, then screw the end part into any RF in. I know in Europe the standards for jacks and plugs are really fucked up man, just take a look at the power sockets. We do not have time to dick around with the "European " way of doing things.Here we work by the hour and get paid every thursday so we do not have time to dick around with stuff like that, here you would get fired for taking that long to attach a fuckin end to a coax cable. I know I am from Europe living in Canada and I have my own TV /Computer business, and all our connectors here are for ease of use you can just use the push on ends these days you do not even have to use a crimper tool anymore. I see Europe is still 20 years behind the times man.

      I know it's just Germany and British standards were pushed on everyone and hence why everyone left Europe. I did not want to work in the fields of the "land owners" more like the thieves who nenver paid any land taxes or even have those properties registered outside the main big cities. Noticed when the poor people left all those "land owners " lands are nothing but bushes now!!! and that is how it was even when I was still living there in the 1990's. Most of the rural villages never had any surveys of land properties or proper land taxes or even registration in a 1000 years. Take a look at Portugal for example over 60% of properties are not even registered LOL. Yet they somehow still get services like hydro LMFAO!!! What a funked up Europe. I am glad Germany is leading the way now with their ownership of Europes ass right now. Perhaps Hitler had the last laugh as Germany controls Europe and everyone now must follow their rules.
