WOW!!! I was skeptical but hopeful, it really worked. My building has no reception whatsoever, I've tried multiple antennas without success, not even one channel. I did the 90-degree angle paper clip, ran the tuner, and got 12 quality channels. CBS, NBC, Fox, Univision, ABC ... Very impressed and thankful, you rock Mr Lloyd!!!!
You're most welcome. That's amazing. The paperclip does it AGAIN! I'm glad and happy to know I could help you. Thank you for watching, commenting and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
I want to thank you for this video, my cable bill was over $150.00 per month which was crazy!!! I closed my account with comcast, not knowing what to do next. I came to you tube and ran across your video. I used the coax/paper clip method, scanned for channels and low and behold, I now can watch local and many other stations in HD clarity with no monthly cable bill. I thank Jesus for this blessing, and I thank you again for sharing this with us.
Rhonda Flowers, Praise be ! WOW this really works!!! My cable got shut off because I can’t afford $188.00 a month for cable and internet anymore..I’ve been sitting here a Month with no tv... I tried the paper clip trick and Bamm I’ve got 22 crystal clear channels....Thank you so much👍😀😃😄😆

OMG it works, I got 64 channels. I been without cable for 1 week; I don’t missed it but I did want basic channels. Now with these 64 free channels and my Roku channels I’m set. Thanks
OMG. Ok. So, the paperclip was a complete fail. Nothing. But, you gave me an idea. A great idea. I got a coax, an adapter, and moved my rabbit ears by the window. Every channel crystal clear. We had a bunch that would not come in, we live in a brick house. You got a thumb up. Thank you!

Im speechless!! I just got a 60 inch LG flatscreen hd tv at a new salvation army store in 100 % working condition and just saw your video and yessss 10000% it works with 1 paperclip!! You just have to get it just right...tysm!!!

Used this method in an older Vizio Plasma tv in my garage. The tuner picked up 20 channels in perfect clarity. Tried it with my Sumsung 4K in same location and couldn’t pick up anything. Bought a six dollar set of rabbit ears and picked up 23 channels. Makes sense, most people are turning away from OTA tv so digital tuners are becoming less sophisticated due lack of need and weight reduction. The Vizio plasma is as heavy as a tank and runs hotter than the hinges hanging of the gates of Hell. The positive is that it’s going to heat my garage when I’m watching games in the garage on Sunday.
That's awesome! Thank you so much for watching, commenting and the very kind words. I am happy to know you get value from my content. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Stumbled upon this after cutting the cord and tried it I got up to 12 channels.. now I’m down to 9 after rescanning to get one of my favorite channels.. thank you for this information you saved me some💵
Miner word up? I'm going to make something out of a couple paper clips tied together and maybe foil reinforcing it all around pointed up to the sky from the converter box or TV and see what happens! I'm in Philly so I'm guessing it should be pretty good if you guys are a little bit north of me outside Philly there
You're most welcome. Six is WAY better than none! If you buy a better antenna you may get even more channels. Here is a basic antenna at Aamzon: amzn.to/2X8lH8m (Affiliate link. Helps me on UA-cam and does not cost you any extra if you use it) Under $15 and will probably give you a much better result (If not you can return it easily to Amazon). Thank you for watching, commenting and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Fantastic !!!! Here in the U.K. I am now receiving 136 channels, some better pictures than others, But I'm struggling with the language problems most of them are Chinese, a few are Korean, and a few more Vietnamese. If I keep trying I may pick up the odd satellite. All the best Ray H. (From the U.K.)

I got a splitter and put it on an 8' coaxial cable then hooked up one of those $10 batwing hd antennas and an old RCA antenna that I've had for years and I can pick up 77-80 local channels plus the NHK Japanese network that is about the only station that I can stand to listen to news on these days. 😜
This is no joke it actually works. I tried it for myself and I have to plug it into the amplifier but it works. On spectrum cable we are all losing my network TV my 43 cable seven and we are losing fox 68 cable eight. This is because of a price war between the cable company spectrum and the Channel owner Northwest. Little do they know they're not taking these stations away from us they're forcing us to buy a TV antenna to get them. So happy I can get my 43 cable 7 and fox 68 cable 8 over the paperclip.

Thank you so much, it really worked, this is awesome, I’ve been spending a lot of money on antennas that give me poor signals, and now with a simple paperclip, I get HD channels, thanks for this video dude, you’re awesome!!

Hey it works! I just attached an extra cable wire & attached a splitter & taped it to the walll just a slight higher than the tv. I was able to scan get over 42 channels. Including my networks Abc Nbc Fox & Cbs. Plus MeTv. Im currently watching a Gilligans Island marathon. Thanks saved me from going out & buying an antennae! Much appreciated! Gained a new suscriber here.
Excellent. This paper clip brings in better reception than the flat antenna I was using. Is fewer stations but they come in much clearer and do not pop in and out. Thank you so much.

Omg thank you so much, I saw your video this morning waiting to go home after work and amazing I just found 45 channel and it's looks crystal clear... so cheap. Thanks again
Best to Use a safety pin bent out fully, and this only works if you are close to a tower, you can clip on most any wire to the safety pin and run it up as high as you can to the top of the chimney if possible for better reception. A paper clip is a tiny bit too large and may expand the little clips inside the plug too much "springing them" so that a normal cable may not work in the future. We got in N Salt Lake City 54 stations with only a safety pin sprung out to a 90 deg angle !
Or you could spend $9.95 on one of those cheap hd batwing shaped antennas or tiny hd antennas with the two extending antennas like the guy in the boat who's watching broadcast TV in the Gulf of Mexico . . . LOL 🤣🤣🤣

Wow i really thought this was just another load of crap on the internet but it actually 100% works I got 20+ channels with this method! Thank you so much for this tutorial. And just in time for some thanksgiving football 😂
In the old days we used to put aluminum foil on our antennas or anyting we can find like hangers I wonder if that works for this or if you put a super long wire
Additionally, if you attach an empty can instead of the paperclip, it will give you even more stations mainly because the shape of a tin can is quite good for catching the radio waves
@@richardlloydusa does it have to be specifically a metal paperclip? I bought some cheap paper clips from the corner store. They are different colors. Might be plastic. It kinda works but the channel keeps going back to no signal.
YOUR VOICE WAS CLEAR AND THE INFORMATION IS SIMPLE AND COMPLETE WITH THE VIDEO. I GIVE YOU A++. I"M 71 YRS. OLD AND HAVE VERY LITTLE KNOWLEDGE IN THE TECK. WORLD. BUT THIS VIDEO LETS ME FEEL THAT I CAN DO THIS !!!! THANKS
Over the air tv does work but your right it has its limitations, if you have the time to research you can find amazing results, I worked for a hospital and one of my jobs was to install and hook up televisions for over two hundred patients, there are over ten other options, but this is the easiest!
So, that's why I couldn't see jack squat on any of the hospitals TV's. Worst food on the planet followed by worst TV reception. Now consider your healthcare following a similar pattern :-\

Worked like a charm on the flatscreen I use as an extended PC monitor! Not the 60+ channels I get with Mohu Leaf but 12 ain't bad for free. Thanks for a great tip.
Totally works. It doesn't give me all the channels that cable does- however for a spare bedroom and refusing to rent another cable box from Xfinity...I'll take it. :) The paperclip was provided to me by my accountant from last years tax returns...free...Thanks!!!

thank you. we cut the cord and trying different ways . i tried this with a paper clip and it worked. 35 channels. also got the 2 female part and added to one end of the cable i had for when we had a different company. put the paper clip in like you said and ran it up the inside wall of my bedroom. picture perfect. thank you so much
Well............just stuck a wrinkled up paper clip I'm my new 75 inch Samsung and immediately had 12 channels pop up. I had my doubts but this works like a charm and then some. So high five - great tip!!!!

Wow, this worked. Thanks so much. It's August 21 2019 today. I found your video on UA-cam last night. I had an extra tv laying around in the corner. I tried it and BAM, I am HAPPY! I have a digital antenna out side over the house and I get 20-23 channel'. I added a paper clip to the line, and to my amazement it went to 50 clear and beautiful TV channels
I was trying to see how to attach a splitter, and I found this video... followed your instructions, and it worked, don't even have a remote haha!! Thanks a lot for sharing🙏🙏🙏😀

Hey Thank you for the tip! Setting up a little TV for Grandma on the patio so she can watch the news. Picked up all the local channels she watches. Can't thank you enough! I was going to originally hook up a splitter till I saw this. I had the paperclip in the junk drawer, so it was a free fix that gave me 27 channels. Love easy fixs that don't cost anything..

I think we are luckier in the UK as the area of coverage from any particular tv broadcast mast or tower includes all the different tv channels available. Having everything coming from the same direction off the same tower means you can set up and optimise your receiving aerial especially for that particular transmission site and you therefore do not have the problem of trying to receive signals from all different directions with a fixed aerial. We also have in the UK hundreds of relay stations filling in any gaps there might be in the service area of a main transmitter. Some of these relays serve very small areas and populations.
Thanks so much for this info. I've got a handicapped brother on a limited income, he hasn't had any tv for 2 years. I hope this works for him. Thank you
Thank you for this. I just got a new Samsung smart TV and am trying to learn how to use it and the ins and outs of OTA TV because I have Cox Cable and so far have been without service for 3 weeks had 2 techs come out who had no idea what they were doing and now I’m told I have to wait another week for another tech. I’ve been with Cox for over 22 years and to me this is not acceptable. I’m trying to learn how to do without them and I thank you for your help.
You're most welcome. I'm glad and very happy to know that I could help you. I am sure one of the techs will figure it out. I would call them and ask for a credit on your service though as you are not getting the service currently. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and the very kind words. I have never subscribed to cable....All my TV's are digital and pull in 46 OTA channels using various rabbit ear or loop antennas. I am fortunate enough to live central to most ota transmitters in my area....thus getting very high quality reception....good reassuring video telling us we don't need any high-priced fancy schmancy antennas....Thanks....
Oh my god! This totally works!!! 😀 I even took the paperclip out to see if it was just the cable cord and I lost signal but got the signal back when i reinserted the paperclip! 😀 I suggest putting you cable/paperclip assembly in a window if you can...i can attest this works!! Thank you for sharing! 😀👍

If you bought an antenna that doesn't pick up any channels then you bought a defective antenna or the cable to it is defective. The paper clip is a neat trick, but ANY functioning antenna should get better reception.
Thanks man got my local news where as the satellite company would charge me for it.💯😊 ...(Edit) it would be nice to see more people on UA-cam trying this and telling there results it is always interesting knowing how many channels that anyone can get for free and knowing how people think of it.💯
You're most welcome. I'm glad and happy to know I could help you. I have created a home made antenna that works very well made with coat hangers and I also made a boosted (amplified antenna array) that allows me even better reception here in Texas. I will probably make a video on those components as well. Thank you for watching, commenting and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Ig u guys want alot alot of chanels get a paper clip and get a wire with it striped on the end of the wire and u attach it to the paper clip and then u will get like 100+ chanels guys trust it works💯
I did this same trick using the existing coaxial cable I had from a previous paid cable connection that lapsed. I cut the end connected to the tv and striped it down to just the copper wire, inserted it and unplugged the other end from the outside sat splitter connection and walla, great antenna reception
I just wanted to let you know thank you so much you are one brilliant man! I'm so blessed I found you vid. I didn't had a paper clip around my house but I found a good piece of thin cable kind of those used to wrap craft flowers anyway I contented to my LG TV scan the auto tune chanels and to my surprise I found 100, not only that but they are so clear I belive better than my expensive Antenna I end up throwing away when I got Direct TV wich we canceled after 9 months I told my hubby from the beginning it wasn't a good idea to pay for cable but thank God we canceled. Thank you so, I haven't watch TV in almost three months but once in a while it feels good to seat and watch some.

Mediasonc Homeworx HW180STB is a decent tuner/DVR for $30. This box will last you one to two years before melting itself as there is not enough ventilation and plenty of heat trapped inside this box. I am on my second HW180STB box. My first unit lasted from September 2017 - May 2019. Just remember this when purchasing.
Wow.....it actually works! Used a small paper clip and a small piece of aluminum foil. About 10 stations after monkeying around and rescanning a few times.

It worked! And on the first try. Paper clip pointing straight up. I get 7 channels in a bottom floor one bedroom apartment in New Braunfels, Texas. They're all 480i resolution. I get "Bounce", "Buzzr" channels and the rest are home shopping type infomercial channels. No network channels at all. It's a KOBS-LD tower 25 miles away and not listed on the FCC map site. That's strange. Thanks for posting this! It tells me I'll have to try a real antenna again which didn't work so well years ago with network channels at 1080i. I didn't even get KOBS-LD.
That's a great start especially on the bottom floor. A better antenna will certainly improve things for you. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

Hook a cable wire to the back of the tv and strip down so far on the wire exsposing the copper wire inside and wrap the copper around a metal clothing hanging and hook the hanger on the wall on a sick pin or a nail or screw will also work for a antenna.I done that and used a splitter and hooked a very week antenna up plus the clothing hanger and I had alot of chanles.Every tv program tower in 60miles it got signle from was pretty good and I was on the second floor in the complex where I live at then I hooked up the same way when I moved into a ground floor apartment and hooked two antinas plus the clothing hanger up to the tv and put one antenna in the window and it done better picked up 6 chanles I didnt have but they were all spanish. So many ways to make your own antenna for cheaper then you can buy one.I like the paper clip idea with foil on it that someone commented they done. Also having a antenna amplifier hooked up to each antenna works better even tho you have to run the amplifire off of electricity it is usefull.

Thank you so much! I used it on my upstairs tv and it worked right away with 8 digital channels! My downstairs Main TV took some more effort but I finally got it to work with a long coaxial cable and paperclip over to the window on the southeast side granting 17 digital channels!
That's great! You are most welcome. Location does affect reception as you saw but I am glad I could help you get reception. Thanks for watching and the kind comments. All the best.

Thanks for the video. Something so simple works better than complex expensive fixes. I spent $80 on a multidirectional antenna that only gave me a weak signal and splotchy video and audio. I put the paperclip into the port and it works great.
wow! so u live close to a big city right for it to work? do you also ever change the signal region to see if you can get more channels in other regions?
I doubt that worked. Get an outside antenna, and watch what you can get. You will like it. And you will get Many more channels. Nothing beats a good outside antenna, one that has a strong signal. Like 60 to 100 miles. You can catch some cool channels. That paper clip junk can't do that.
You are most welcome. I am glad to know I could help you. Thank you for watching, commenting and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Hi. So here's what I did. I tried the paperclip first and was quite blown away. Then I plugged my current antenna which is a double bowtie antennae. (you've probably seen it online, it's blue and make of cardboard and alum. foil and a few screw.) Anyway. After I plugged my regular antenna in, I took a foot long piece of stiff wire about the size of a paper clip and wrapped a bare end around the OUTSIDE of the Ant. In port. I couldn't believe!!! Once piece of wire slightly pushed forward and I can watch the channels I like without VERY little interuption. Thanks Man! Oh the wonder of science!!! Joe from Seattle, Good day sir. Oh by the way, where I live I do get good reception so that does help, thanks again!!!!
WOW!!! I was skeptical but hopeful, it really worked. My building has no reception whatsoever, I've tried multiple antennas without success, not even one channel.
Thank you!

I'm gonna have to give this a try. I have two antennas on a splitter that I have to move too often.

The
Vizio plasma is as heavy as a tank and runs hotter than the hinges hanging of the gates of Hell.
The positive is that it’s going to heat my garage when I’m watching games in the garage on Sunday.
That's awesome! Thank you so much for watching, commenting and the very kind words. I am happy to know you get value from my content. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
I've used regular nail clippers for years (jam male end of coax into and wedge it). Works way better than my $40 Amazon amplified HD antenna

This does work. what I did was wrap the paper clip with aluminum foil and got an even stronger reception...
Great! Thanks.
Way to MacGyver the s*** out of that, I did the same thing myself for a friend. Nice!
That's great! Thanks.

Thanks man this actually works I got 6 channels at first but when I turned the paper clip a little to the left I got 8. Thanks again
I live in the Philadelphia suburbs,14.5 miles from TV towers. I tried the paper clip and OMG it works.Pick up 38 clear stations!
That's great! Thanks for watching.
Wayne Brower I picked up 75 with a paper clip and foil, I live in collegeville, near kop
Miner word up? I'm going to make something out of a couple paper clips tied together and maybe foil reinforcing it all around pointed up to the sky from the converter box or TV and see what happens! I'm in Philly so I'm guessing it should be pretty good if you guys are a little bit north of me outside Philly there
Omg this works!!! Got 6 channels at the office TV for absolutely free!! It's better than nothing! Thank you so much, this is amazing! 👍🏾🙋🏾♀️😘
Thanks. Best of luck.
Wow this is awesome I was broke and I got a pack of £1 paper clips and done that and it worked thank you your my hero

Although the port on my tv is slightly different to yours it still fits perfectly
It works, some channels aren't clear, but some are, I got 31 received.
Which channels

You are most welcome. Glad I could help. Thank you for watching, commenting, the sub and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
Excellent. This paper clip brings in better reception than the flat antenna I was using. Is fewer stations but they come in much clearer and do not pop in and out. Thank you so much.

Or you could spend $9.95 on one of those cheap hd batwing shaped antennas or tiny hd antennas with the two extending antennas like the guy in the boat who's watching broadcast TV in the Gulf of Mexico . . . LOL 🤣🤣🤣
I'm in Midvale! About to try this rn!! 😉

This is some serious MacGuiver stuff here! I live 30 miles from the city and this trick gave me 44 stations!
Thank you for watching, commenting and the valuable feedback. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
In the old days we used to put aluminum foil on our antennas or anyting we can find like hangers I wonder if that works for this or if you put a super long wire
@@richardlloydusa One question I have a Hitachi TV so do I put a pin or a paper clip pls helpp

That's great. Thanks for the info.
Thanks so much for this info. I've got a handicapped brother on a limited income, he hasn't had any tv for 2 years. I hope this works for him. Thank you

Yeah did it?!?

That's awesome to hear. You are most welcome. All the best.
Oh my god! This totally works!!! 😀 I even took the paperclip out to see if it was just the cable cord and I lost signal but got the signal back when i reinserted the paperclip! 😀 I suggest putting you cable/paperclip assembly in a window if you can...i can attest this works!! You are most welcome. Thank you for watching, commenting and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.

LOL, That was my job as kid too. For some reason I seem to have a positive effect on radio waves. No idea why! Thanks

I did this many years ago. Copper wire works the best.
Thank you.
Agree
Thank you so much! I used it on my upstairs tv and it worked right away with 8 digital channels! My downstairs Main TV took some more effort but I finally got it to work with a long coaxial cable and paperclip over to the window on the southeast side granting 17 digital channels!
That's great! You are most welcome. Location does affect reception as you saw but I am glad I could help you get reception. Thanks for watching and the kind comments. All the best.
Howdy, dude! I wish I found your channel before retiring my box tv 3 days ago! I'm buying a flat-screen tomorrow, so...
Can't wait(!) to try your method. What a clever man! And, thanks...for being brief, simple & accurate!

Thanks for the video. Something so simple works better than complex expensive fixes. I spent $80 on a multidirectional antenna that only gave me a weak signal and splotchy video and audio. I put the paperclip into the port and it works great.

wow! so u live close to a big city right for it to work? do you also ever change the signal region to see if you can get more channels in other regions?
mel tell

I doubt that worked. Get an outside antenna, and watch what you can get. You will like it. And you will get Many more channels. Nothing beats a good outside antenna, one that has a strong signal. Like 60 to 100 miles. You can catch some cool channels. That paper clip junk can't do that.
It does work!!!! I received 20 channels!!!! Thx.

You are most welcome. Antenna design is part science part art. Thanks.
