It's absolutely brilliant. It's a game I'd love to run again, go in a different direction, visit different locations. Seriously can't recommend it enough.
Ultraviolet Grasslands is a weird and fascinating world! A number of cool, interesting locations. So much in the book to help kick one's creativity into overdrive.
Like i said very interesting world, would like play this game. And looking forward to many episodes. :) And i also like having the players help create, flesh out the world.
Thanks, Matt! I'm going to be pulling on the players regularly to flesh out details of the world and create our own iteration of the UVG. Love how the game itself is anti-canon, pushing the group to define their own canon.
Prepare yourself you know it's a must, Gotta have a friend in Dan! So you know that when you die, He's gonna recommend you, To the hot pocket in the sky! 🤣
Looking over the UVG 2e book and not following along with some of your character generation. Can you tell me what resource you're using for the XP details on travel quests (16:20), stat generation (33:37), and the faction rumor chart (1:01:22)? Great stream! Thanks
Our run was from a couple years ago, so the 2e book hadn't come out yet. We're using the 1e book. I haven't gone through the 2e book yet, so it's probable there have been changes? The travel quest xp stuff in 1e, for example, is on p. 147 and covers what I talked about on stream. With stat gen, we were using an earlier version of SEACAT, which I think Luka might have renamed during development? I'm not sure if the beta/alpha version documents we played with are the same he's using now. I'm pretty sure we used SEACAT version 0.7, if that helps, p. 38 for stat generation. For the faction rumor chart, this was part of character generation in 1e as well. That starts on p. 164. Each faction has a rumors/truths table that we rolled on.
Really drawn into this series immediately. I have the UVG book but did you also draw all the world building from some other source? Is there a SeaCat book in addition to what’s in UVG?
We're primarily using the UVG book, but the author also has a Patreon where he releases content for SeaCat as he develops that book. I've pulled some stuff from there too. Here's a link: www.patreon.com/wizardthieffighter Thanks for checking out our stuff!
For this, it was just FoundryVTT. There's no specific system for UVG/Seacat. Most of the character creation tools were rolltables and handouts I created in our Foundry table.
@@AdventuresinLollygagging Yeah I've got the pdfs from the pateron but wasn't sure if it was a tool you had gathered somewhere, but self-creation makes sense. Thanks for the response!
Just got my 2e UVG set. so excited. opening that book sets your imagination reeling. Hoping to run my Caravan soon.

Wow, very weird and intriguing. Very much looking forward to seeing how this group and game plays out…

It started out so innocently.
Haha! I'm fairly certain Khalil and Tengo don't know the meaning of the word. :)
So... Dan's character starts out trying to collect the HellRaiser boxes? It'll be interesting to see if I still think that in the future episodes.
Hm, I think as the shenanigans started to accrue right out of the gate, we forgot about this wrinkle! Need to remedy that soon.
Hi! I'm here for the infrared dysentery.
Brilliant! If there’s one thing Oregon Trail taught me, it’s that dysentery is the cornerstone of any proper journey =)
Aaaaannnddd..... I'm adding that to my list of random Misfortunes! hahaha
@@kicowboy Imagine how awful it will be for Dan and Melissa, in their weird astronaut Satrap suits! Other question, can Chuck's ghost get dysentery?
Hmmm…my guess is not his ghost form directly. But I respect your cruelty enough to imagine a horrible variation of phantom limb syndrome…
@@kicowboy Aaaaand, 'phantom dysentery' has been added to the Misfortune list...

What a crazy setting! And agreed - I love games that have shared world building.

Me too! Everyone is excited to get the show on the road, haha!
@@AdventuresinLollygagging I wonder how long they will manage stick to that road =)
@@TalesOfMythAndMayhem Knowing them, we'll be all over the place once we pull out of the driveway, haha!

Do you have a link to the tool you were using for the character creation here? I'm setting up a UVG group myself and curious on resources.
