Brilliant performance! Wow! Still on the same level with maestro Andrei Gawrilow who won the 1st prize at the 1974 International Tschaikoswky competition ! Great!
I agree! The jacket in the chair. Te magnetophone on the window (a nagra one? Or a soviet model?). The Weinbach piano (second brand of Petrof, and the grands are not so larg, typical and probably biggest size is 173...). And it looks the action has just been serviced, since the lack of the front piece in the piano... And of course the ride in the car, like he is thinking about something malevolous, probably is going to make a murder... A blue VAZ 2103 can be seen through the rear window.. I am curious what model he is travelling... A Volga?
One of the greatest Soviet pianists, still far too unknown in the West...
pianopera for real
Oohhhhh, truly diabolic, and video is magical in its apparent quotidianity, brrrrr, true Melville atmosphere....
Exceptional technique, exceptional musician, and perfect hearing.

First time I watch a video featuring Vedernikov ! Thanks a lot !
You have a great channel too!! Thank you ❤
Great performance, need to check more of him
Ouf, de la veine de l'interprétation de Richter, quelle puissance et quelle dynamique. Extraordinaire !!
Thanks for upload! I had it in my favorites long time ago but video was deleted... One of my all time favorite performances. Just perfect. PERFECT.
бесподобно!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Strong will,performance.
Ideal posture.
Stunning performance! Love the ending as well. :)
Great video and very much agree with the reference to Melville.
This is so cool and funny! Despite of his diabolic playing, the whole setting is so idyllic and that car journey scene at the end!

@@martinmillan-yf6cc What a diabolic suggestion!
He finally cancelled his plan :)
Wow, that piano is very high. That's very surprising.
Anyway beautiful performance !
Great performance. It´s a pity that the scene in the car cuts some notes (almost two bars!) of this superb interpretation.
Yes, indeed; and why the car scene anyway?? Otherwise, it's stunning.
To demonstrate the "driving" rhythmic force of the work? :)
Best performance
great to hear how this sounds on a different piano, other than the big black dinosaur one
That way of playing the glissando is actually very interesting.
Nice place, nice performance.

Ни одного диза никогда никто здесь не поставит
Do you have any information on what city or country or building this is shot at?
Снято в СССР, в доме Анатолия Ведерникова в подмосковном посёлке "Клязьма".
