I use a 12lbs blanket. I have extreme panic attacks, PTSD and severe anxiety. Love it. I've been able to sleep and calm after an attack. Might not work for everyone, but for me, it's the best thing.

@@stivenlizama5413 it's by your body weight and comfort. Usually 10% of your weight. 120-150 usually is comfortable with 12-15lbs. However, I am 140 and I prefer my 18lb now. My daughter is 80lbs and preferred my 12lbs. You would think it would be hot during to summer but it's not. The feel of multiple blanket pressure with one blanket warmth.

It helped me a ton! I am over 60. I wish these had been in existence when I was 6 and I went through unthinkable trauma. Seriously, this for me has been better than any drug.

I bought a 20 lb. Weighted blanket from Amazon. It feels great when I'm on my stomach going to sleep and it's on my back. It keeps me from tossing and turning at night to. Me and my gf share it at night and she likes it to. I feel I wake up less at night since I got the blanket. It does bring a sense of calm and being cuddled
Buy her one as well if you see the benefits only thing that’s sucks is leaving out the cuddles 😂

I’ve been sleeping with a weighted blanket called BlanQuil for several months now. I’ve found it easier to fall asleep. I’ve also found it to help with the pain from fibromyalgia and restless legs. I have a 20lb BlanQuil. I’ve found that it doesn’t get too hot. It’s also extremely comforting when my depression or anxiety are bothering me. It’s like being hugged all over.
I'm torn between getting a 15 or 20 but fear 20lbs will be too heavy or smothering/hot. I'm 170lbs, what are your thoughts on the weight of your 20? thanks for the comment

I often use one. This isn't placebo. My wife also has the same effect from it. I've felt with anxiety and depression all my life. This has helped me more than any drug. Wish I would have knew of this when I was younger

I always sleep better and more soundly with lots of blanket weight on me, also wearing a cozy scarf works wonders especially for aches and pains around the neck and shoulders
I don't know if you remember being tucked in, where your parent makes the sheet nice and tight around you, it kind of feels like that.
Im telling you this works. I got a 30lb weighted blanket. It was a gift from a family member who was sick of dealing with my anxiety and other shit that comes with living with a high strung person like myself. I thought it was a joke but been using this for over a year now. Can't imagine not having one lol. Highly recommended.
I was in my counselors office having a really bad day with my anxiety and she had one i used it while i was in the office. It helped me calm my anxiety down.
I don't have any of the issues that were mentioned in this video and I have a weighted blanket and I absolutely love it! The brand I got is called calming comfort. Sooooo worth it!

After getting a weighted blanked I haven’t slept better. Combination of less alcohol and better sleep I feel amazing! I have longer and deeper sleep and feel like My dreams last longer ie better quality REM cycle. I just wish I had it since I was a kid, as the better sleep help your brain develop

I tell ya what. Never heard about these things until Christmas that just passed. My wife got me a 25lbs blanket. I thought it was an odd gift but its a blanket so I used it. I hibernated. My wife told me I did not move as she claims I kick a lot in my sleep.
I got curious so I started reading up on them this morning. Interesting, I guess I have mental issues.
Later on I will see about getting a 40-50lbs blanket if I can find one.

Yes. I have a weighted blanket that I've had for a good 15-20 years now, and almost every night its on my bed. I wash it every month/month 1/2. But it helps so much with my sleep.
YES. The weighted blanket ABSOLUTELY helps me.
I have my doubts a weighted blanket is going to replace meds! But, it may help as an added tool.

I'm waiting for my blanket to be delivered today. I have major anxiety but I also like the feeling of heavy thick blankets. While this is a thin blanket it's about the weight and idea of putting it between two comforters
American TV makes me want to tear every single transistor out of my own TV.
All I know is that when I do physio and they put the heated, weight blanket on my back, I fall asleep within minutes.
I’ve learned late in life that being extra warm makes all the difference in my sleep which btw does have a weight to it but not close ti 15 lbs.

Weighted blankets are harmful in the long run. These blankets prevent people from turning left and right in their sleep. However, in order to have a comfortable blood flow, one must turn left and right. These blankets harm human heart health in the first place.

I appreciate the information, so thank you for that. My opinion is likely irrelevant since I will assume I must not be the target demographic, but… I’m shocked about the carnival-style delivery of this program. I’m surprised that adults find this approach enjoyable. This 3 minute clip is so obnoxious (to me) that it’s nearly intolerable.
I love Brookstone and their products especially those for sleep. I got their better than down comforter and I love it. Then for Christmas in 2017 I got the NAP weighted blanket from Brookstone as a gift from my mom. I am constantly wanting new blankets because i like having several blankets on the bed. I have anxiety and ADD. I sleep with the 2 blankets every night. Both 5 star ⭐️ products. Don’t be afraid of the price Brookstone makes really good products.
My fiance got me one from Brookstone because it was on sale for $25. I absolutely loved it only problem is now he using it and I'm back to not sleeping great.

I ❤️ heavy blankets. I dont even use the sheet. I sleep with 3 layers of blankets year round. My husband always checks on me in the middle of the night cause he thinks im not breathing. I like the feeling of being wrapped up.

I heard nothing but good reviews from weighted blankets so I decided to get one. I can confirm, while I didn't sleep in it yet, i sat under one while working and my legs were relaxed like they never were before

Weighted blankets are wonderful for autistic kids with sleeping problems. My son sleeps improved since he is using one.

Ever since I got a 4 inch memory foam piece to put on top of my bed, I sleep a LOT better than before. I'm hoping a weighted blanket will be the icing on my cake. God forbid anyone come into my room, where there are 3 fans/air filters running all the time, and 6 heavy blankets on my side of the bed. UGH just give me a 20 lb. weighted blanket already. When my best friend twisted my arm to try her 15 pound blanket at her house (when I visited her for a weekend), I slept like the DEAD. And that was in a recliner! I was so skeptical, but now that I've actually tried one? WANT WANT WANT. ANYTHING for my restless legs.

I have no problem sleeping but I hate that duvets are so light I can't feel it, I grew up with sheets and blankets and love my weighted blanket. You sleep better because you don't fidget. My dad used to put Vivaldi's 4 seasons on so quiet that if I fidgeted I couldn't hear it, I can still fall asleep in an instant if that music is put on and I stay still. It's not rocket science.

@@ciao614 so far I LOVE it, I've always enjoyed being draped with the lead covers @the dentist. Now I have my own, minus the lead, it's fantastic. I have high anxiety and it is great at night to aid in winding down. It feels like I'm cuddling with someone all the time.

Subject aside and with all due respect, I find it very difficult to take it seriously when well educated people discuss medical science related subjects like they're on Jerry Springer. There are several positive studies on weighted blankets and perhaps (hopefully) they'll get to them later in the show, but instead of educating people, I get a doctor and a sleep specialist telling me that "if I'm looking for the next gadget, maybe it's the blankeeet"; what a waste of knowledge.
I have been trying to post links to studies, but apparently links are not allowed, so for any interested, the titles of three interesting studies are "Effects of Deep Pressure Stimulation on Physiological Arousal", "Positive Effects of a Weighted
Blanket on Insomnia", or "Effect of deep pressure input on parasympathetic system in patients with wisdom tooth surgery".
