Hi Armando, thanks for reviewing this product :) you're the second youtuber doing it, as far as I know, and thank you for your honesty in expressing how the product is working and the pros and cons and all. I wish there will be a follow-up video once you got your replacement back or after they fix it. Please make another one, I am sure lots of people, especially ordered this product will want to follow up as well. Please consider it. Last but not least, if you don't mind. Could you also make videos, any video, by using the Martta slider Mini, and upload the video that you shot using your own camera and/or smartphone with the Smartta slider mini? Thanks again :)
Great video bro. After watching you using it in person, I’m returning my Edelkrone and getting this little guy. The price, smoothness and that fact that it has a physical button sold me on it!
I also liked the run and gun option, not needing the app to use it Manny, tip, I leave the battery in my SliderOnePro. It just stays at position A. Unless you connect the app, the motor is inactive. The bluetooth will use a tiny bit of the electricity and would take months to drain the battery. So for a multi day gig I wouldnt hesitate to just leave the battery in and as you needed the slider your app would engage the motor. I also have their Motion Box and that thing has like a sleep mode and it goes to sleep to where you just tap the reset button when you open the app to get the bluetooth alive (essentially a power button, lol)
Do you have the Edelkrone SliderOne v1? or the v2? I was also about to buy the Edelkrone SliderOne but many have reported that sometimes the bluetooth connection between the app and the slider get's lost.
Thanks Armando....I was just getting ready to purchase the Edelkrone and thought from your thumbnail that it was the Edelkrone. Now I need to do a little more research. Good to see what other manufactures are offering.
I know this video is a year old, but any chance you can do a follow up video. I’m looking for something like this slider but also want a motorised pan head , not sure if that’s the correct term, for keeping the subject centred while sliding. Have they improved the app and the strength of the slider?
Wow.. I saw this the other day and was intrigued to say the least.. this thing looks perfect for on the go vlogging.. my RX100 would work great on this!!!! I blame you for the drop Armando.. 😂😂 Just kidding..I’m glad the company got right back to you..
Been looking at this slider for a while. Really interested in it but by the time it gets released, I'll be gone for my upcoming trip so maybe get it when I return. Thnx for the review, it looks great! I do still think the price is a bit high for what it is, $300 for basically 2 pieces of aluminum sliding against each other shouldn't cost more than $100 imo.
they are not just 2 aluminium pieces sliding against each other you have to consider the cost of the PCB and the motor driver and the software for the slider
Aside from what Prathamesh pointed out, you also need to consider how powerful and silent the motor is. A budget of a hundred bucks will get you a cheaply made slider with a noisy motor or a pretty decent one without a motor.
Thanks for the review, I'm looking for a motorised slider at the moment. I wish they would make it so you could add extra lengths and curves, just like a scalextric set.
I have dropped my Edelkrone SliderOne Pro a dozen times, no issues (I use mine in precarious setups). But that's why I paid the Pro price for it. You cant expect gear at this price to be pro level. I'm not a fan of knock offs like this, they didn't even try to make it look different. I would think if Edelkrone had a legal leg to stand on they would already have done that. But Patents can be tricky..
great video dude. Really tempted to pick one up for the studio here. Is there any update from the company on cycle mode? That's a real big deal for motorized sliders, I'm surprised they missed it.
Hello, we already added a Loop Mode which will allow the slider go back and forth continually without stop. Please check the description on our campaign page: www.indiegogo.com/projects/slidermini-ultra-portable-smooth-camera-slider/x/19313857#/. Thank you!
I just looked it up, it's now 2020 how come the product is not yet out? On their website it says that you can pre-order, yet there are similar ones on Amazon and B&H already, would you recommend getting one of those? I have a few sliders but looking for a small motorized slider that will also be able to handle the camera plus a 24 mm probe lens.
I would like to get a cheap motorized slider that turns the camera while moving straight. Do you know if this model or other model allows that? Saludos de Argentina!
1. Epic T-Shirt! I'm happy to to see your repping awesome gamer apparel! YAY Pokemon #geeklife 2. That slider is DOPE! OMG! Brilliant review! It's form factor is amazing and perfect for travel plus it's 90* ability is so so cool! Thank you again!
Just found your channel. Loving the info. I do have a request though. Reviewing things that are able to be purchase is best for me. Been burned twice by startups. Thanks, I’m speaking just for myself.
Nice review. It's a nice and compact slider. I had the Edelkrone SliderOne Pro and returned it. It had some jerky spots on its travel that ruined shots. A slider has one purpose and the Edelkrone failed. I was rushing to get a golden hour shot and the app said, "Firmware update required." No kidding. I missed my shot because the app decided it needed to update the slider even though it was working before the update. Ridiculous and frustrating. Also, the Edelkrone won't work without the app. When the app breaks on a future iOS update and Edelkrone decides they don't want to maintain the software for your slider, it becomes an expensive paper weight. Planned obsolescence.
Hi Armando. I just subscribed to you once I saw your intro portion. A little off topic here but what is the Camera setup you used and it’s settings? I always get washed out or videos that don’t pop like what you have. I usually set to the lowest aperture like 2.8 and autofocus. Yes I have key light too. Is it the ISO causing issues? Sorry to bore you with this but I aim to do something like what you did. It’s really good. And yes I will likely get the slider too thanks to your video
Hi Armando, I digging your videos. What backpack are you using in this Video? I noticed you have some kind of attachment harness for your camera, is that something you rigged up or does it come like that?
Hey Armando! I couldn't find your the backpack camera strap that you use in you gear list. Is it the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip? Thanks in advance for your answer and keep up the great work!
Considering this was most likely a ripoff of the Edelkrone, this price point is about right. I've seen short motorized sliders that aren't this slick sell for close to 200 bucks. Can't see how this thing can go much cheaper this year.
Hey, does this slider make any noise in the audio of the video you record? I'm asking because I'm looking for something with this kind of movement in the shot, while still getting the audio (I'm filming a short film)
It's 6:26am here...I'm hella hungry but I need to wake up at 9am. Clicks on this to watch before I head to sleep...needless to say, I hate you for that intro haha
VERY concerning about the durability of a PORTABLE slider. I’m waiting on my shipment now. I was in the first round that is supposed to receive the sliders in the beginning of October.
@@mondobytes well after looking at the link i just searched for camera sliders and they are around that range...Maybe nothing pro or fancy as long as it slides by itself.
Great content.... But I'm quiet worried, what's happening to ur viewership rates? I think there's something wrong with ur algorithm. U should figure it out.
My money was going to be on the line? Not sure what you mean by that but nothing has changed and I explain the idea behind Tested Tuesday in Episode 1.
Huh sorry Armando, I must've been thinking of another thing or something. I was under the impression that you would be paying for these products out of pocket but you clearly stated in Episode 1 that you'd be testing products that companies send to you to truly evaluate them. My mistake. Keep up the good vids!
Be careful I haven't seen one backer receive this product yet and the dates for shipping keep changing ......unless there's someone that can prove me wrong !
Hi, SliderMini is still on crowdfunding status and it will be shipped after the campaign is ended. The first batch will be shipped soon in October, the second batch will be shipped in November, all according to the order number. Please check our updates here: www.indiegogo.com/projects/slidermini-ultra-portable-smooth-camera-slider/x/19313857#/updates/all. Thank you.
Well, in all fairness you can drop a laptop, phone, camera from 3ft and the electronics can get damaged. However, with that being said I do feel this type of gear should handle a bit more abuse especially since it gets thrown around really easily so that does concern me. But otherwise, it's a solid slider and TBH the best portable slider I've used which now I want to try the Edelkrone just to see if I like it more?
Hi Abhimanyu, the beep sound comes from the hardware. We have added a switch in the settings in the new version of Smartta Go app, so users can disable the sound. Thank you.
Hi John, yes, a Loop Mode already added to the app, which can make the slider go back and forth continuously without stop. Yes, the switch to turn off the beep sound already in place too. You can check our tutorial videos here: ua-cam.com/channels/jh0akJ3WFZZLH5x-iIqICA.html Thank you.
*Make sure you watch the whole video and read the description for update.*

Wow, even with it breaking after a fall, it still seems like a great little motorized slider! Thanks for sharing Armando!

I would love to see it in different sizes. Not necessary just a pocket. Looks like great quality product.
Looks like a pretty decent slider. And pretty affordable too.
Tested Tuesday coming in clutch!
Heck yeah tested Tuesday!
Thanks Armando....I was just getting ready to purchase the Edelkrone and thought from your thumbnail that it was the Edelkrone. Now I need to do a little more research. Good to see what other manufactures are offering.
Armando, these Tested Tuesday videos are dope! They just get better and better! Keep up the awesome work! 😀
Thanks man!!
Man I love these breakdowns! Just subscribed. :)
Thanks man!
Really tocos for the start of video!!
Great Video Armando! Been looking for a small slider and this hit all the marks. Picked one up! Keep up the good work!
I just backed this campaign.. can't wait til November when it ships! Thanks for the heads up bro
Looks very interesting. I hope they will add the repeat mode (left to right to left and so on)

Hrm. I've hated my Edelkrone so far and the app of this even looks more competent than Edelkrone's. Interesting.
Armando, that thing is not a 🌮, is a tostada! 😂 Great video!
Awesome 🌮 sauce! I love the portability of this slider if it proves to be durable.

I love this little guy, just emailed them telling them they should have a locking mechanism when transporting.
Armando Ferreira great idea..
PS.. I just ordered it... lol

Right now it's about 9 at night and Armando decided to your taco right now now I'm getting hungry 😂
Always a pleasure Armando!!!!

Haha pues a comprar tacos, saludos amigo!
Now because of that I had TB.. Canijo me debes una!!
Tendencias Tech 😂👊🏼
super cool.
Does it move from left to right for more than one time like a loop movement or it takes only one slide at time?
Roberto Marra - U2CURE you can do loop mode
So what happened to this Product. Cant seem to find it anywhere.

Coincidence? I think not!

can you use it to make timelapse?
yes dropping any electronic device will break, even name branded ones.
Hi Armando, I digging your videos. What backpack are you using in this Video? I noticed you have some kind of attachment harness for your camera, is that something you rigged up or does it come like that?
Anthony T here you go: ua-cam.com/video/xqfFdiKXrEw/v-deo.html
FYI: This Chinese-made motorized slider costs $399 while the Edelkrone SliderOne V2 is priced at $499.
The Indiegogo page notes that it has a loop function.
Ah, great concept but that incident could have happened to anyone, as you said. There goes $300 bucks...
1 taco is not enough
Hey Armando!
I couldn't find your the backpack camera strap that you use in you gear list. Is it the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip?

Are you sure it's not shaking?

here i wonder why i wasnt subscribed before...
Hi Armando - How did you get your slider fixed ?...looking forward to your update on that issue..I am using a smartta slidder - Thx
If something like that happens I belive that it has to be sent back to US for repair? Not so good for backers outside US.
Mr. Peanutbutter! (joking aside, good review)
Thanks for the video. Is there a looping mode?
Jacobo Castro Cristo yup they just added it
Dope!
nice video...
3:04 the anxiety... I hate you...
How can I by it ?

Yes 🌮 Tuesday
Does it do nonstop loop movement?

How can I buy it?
Hey, does this slider make any noise in the audio of the video you record? I'm asking because I'm looking for something with this kind of movement in the shot, while still getting the audio (I'm filming a short film)

Just discovered your channel through Dan Mace 😊 Are you Portuguese?
I'm a trail mix but do have some Portuguese in my blood.
@@mondobytes ahahah cool ✌️😃
Where's the tacos de pastor?
In my belly!
Armando Ferreira I am not sure, maybe he was asking if the tacos were “tacos al pastor “ or other kind ? Your videos are fantastic keep the good work
Bro, where did you get the CRUNCHY TACO? I can’t find any hard shell tacos in Los Angeles 😭😭

VERY concerning about the durability of a PORTABLE slider. I’m waiting on my shipment now. I was in the first round that is supposed to receive the sliders in the beginning of October.
Needs to have a faster option.
I'd buy this if the max speed was 5 seconds
if it was like 80 bucks i would of got it when i clicked the link but nope lol...Looking for something like this though
Joshua Robles $80 bucks for a motorized slider?
@@mondobytes well after looking at the link i just searched for camera sliders and they are around that range...Maybe nothing pro or fancy as long as it slides by itself.

Hey! Does the sound come from the hardware? Or does it come from the app? If its from the app, does it stop when you flip the mute switch?
Bokeh Life I see. I hope they come up with a firmware upgrade then which gives an option to disable it 😊
Hi Abhimanyu, the beep sound comes from the hardware. We have added a switch in the settings in the new version of Smartta Go app, so users can disable the sound. Thank you.
