Gotta love it when a guy that has every camera gadget known to man can get truly jazzed about some cotton string. Thanks Markus!
I was looking for an easy answer when I clicked on this video. It was nice to be reminded that you shouldn't expect all of your answers to come from a department store. I need to get back to the roots of "making it work" with some inventiveness. Thanks for posting this.
I have used the tilted track to shoot some animation. Thanks for the comprehensive overview.
Nice-literally "self-actualization" at work on those solo slider shots. Thanks for sharing your techniques!
You’re awesome man! I’m not a photographer but gosh I enjoy your videos so much because of the great good vibes you share. Keep posting!
You have way to many sliders 😂! I like how much fun you’re having!
Thank you Markus for the video. I came by you´re channel VIA Camera Conspiracies video. Happy that I found you´re channel and got my UA-cam "camera family" widened. Positive and useful message!
This was a definite like. Didn't want this video to end. Lets go have a look at your other videos! 11K plus one today!
Enjoyed this very much. One thing you didn't mention is noise. Some of the tracks seemed to create a lot of friction noise. Even if you re using a remote microphone, I would be concerned that the mic would pick up this background noise. Any suggestions for eliminating noise from the slider?
I had a thought to put a string but couldn’t figure out where the string should be angled. Now I get it. Thanks Markus!!
Ich liebe den Erfindergeist dieses Creators!
Marcus, I am a big fan of your channel. It's evident your quite successful in your craft, but yet very humble.
Thank you for all the ideas you continue to share with us.
I'm a new filmmaker, always looking for ways to achieve professional looks without having to sell my car to get it. Lol
I pray I stay as level headed as you, when I get to your level of success.
Thank you for everything.
And I'm glad 'The Camera Conspiracy Guy' highlighted your channel.
This is now a favorite for me. I've learned alot from you and admire your passion!

You are offering a wealth of knowledge. Well done.
I love your enthusiasm!
Just getting into photo and video, solely for the sake of my own enjoyment, and I've found your videos enormously helpful and informative. Thank you.
Glad to help!
he is a genius and he's so underrated
You are so creative and resourceful.
Wow. Truly a brilliant idea! Thanks for sharing.
Quicky set-up: Broom handle. Couple friends shoulders. Clean up easy: magic wand, and broom flies away. Moving a camera across a desk, simple solution is a folded wash cloth under it. No bumps, nothing. Shoot wide. It's more fun when you don't have the dough to come with solutions. A lot more. Night shot of an alley, no light except a street lamp at the far end of it? You want your character to walk from the distance toward you. Shoot a plate of the alley. No noise there. Then film the scene, knowing you're going to get noise in areas just above the blacks. (the olden days, with the Canon 5D MarkII pre any firmware updates) But in Photoshop you layer the plate over everything except the walker and the area he's in. If you're really sneaky, you can fade in plate areas that he just passed in another layer. No lighting at all. Here's my short noir with the cloth for the desk move and the alley shot. And, a lot more inventions, on the cheap. www.imdb.com/video/vi976727833
Great job..lol when I get shy I swing my arms and hands like that.
Radio control toy truck? Lego Technic? Roller skate? I was thinking about buying pro kit until I saw this. May not be out of this wold but it sure is thinking out of the box. Thanks Markus.
Thank you for the video. Great info. I enjoyed your energy and presentation style.
You're the best! Truly a godsend inspiration! ❤
I know this is an older video, but i just found an awesome way to do this. I used my sons lego duplo train. All you need is some board to put the tracks on. It can reverse automatically or stop. It can even be contolled with a smartphone app
You are god of creativeness
Nice tips! Thanks!
This is brilliant thanks for all the ideas.👍
Great job on all the tricks.. I just bought a motorized dolly! Cant wait to try some of this out! Thanks
Really beautiful work after watching your videos, no need to be watch any videos. i literally enjoy watching your video. Great job 👌
Thank you so much 😀
best learning experience with you Markus 🤘
If i was still doing videos I would try an improvised track set-up. Cool and inexpensive tricks as always .
Thanks Markus!
This selfmade motorized slider is hilarious. I really LOL`ed a lot.
I'm actually considering trying to make a track with two shower curtain rods. I appreciate this video, thank you.
Some people use basic PVC pipes or any kind of tube
@@MarkusPix I'm taking a trip to the Hope Depot next check.
Thanks, Markus, you're amazing and you have given me new creative ways and thoughts to get to use my 49inch Digital juice slyder that isn't motorized. I was searching for something way way different and I stumbled upon your video. I surely enjoyed watching you come up with different ideas to make it work. Yes, ways to make it work and it does work pretty well. I will now get to my hunt for the motors. and I have subscribed to get inspired and educated.
Very creative ideas, thanks for sharing, thanks a lot
Such an inspiration!
TY for sharing your secrets!
Great ideas. I'm working on a puppet music video by myself so I could use all the help all I can get when filming the puppets. Thanks for your creativity...
Fun video, Markus! 👍🏻
Necessity is still the mother of invention, and your passion is infectious 👍
Love your attitude and approach to DIY'ing this sort of stuff...
Truly truly amazing
Thanks for the video Markus. You have some great ideas. It is fun to make your own.
This is awesome!! Informative and a true example that you CAN make it great without making it expensive.
I just love your enthusiastic videos. Thanks for sharing your ideas and thoughts 😃
Insane, very entertaining.
i like your crazy idea about photography... :)
I will probably never need this but a very enjoyable video.
man this channel is so fun so glad i stumbled onto it
great video but have yout got tips for when the floor is not very even i visit a lot of abandoned buildings for my videos and sometimes its very difficult if the floor is uneven
ua-cam.com/video/QulvwOxuMGc/v-deo.html
Excellent work! With that, A big thanks to ya.
Markus, you are so appreciated! What camera would you recommend? I need a good quality, "not too fancy" camera, for stills and video, easy to figure out. : ) to film skin therapy education. I have small hands, nothing too heavy. Getting new everything for this year. THANK YOU ! ! !
I've just re-discovered this channel - Markus has a cool outlook :) Feel free to disregard my advice, but I'd suggest the Fuji X-T20.
It's known for having good skin tones, and the Fujifilm film simulations mean that you don't have to worry about grading. It's about to be replaced so it should be falling in price. The XF18-55mm f/2.8-4 is very cheap when bundled, and the XF35mm f1.4 is good for low-light or blurred backgrounds. Look out for cashback season.
Or perhaps the Panasonic LX100, which has just been replaced, and has come down a lot in price (if you look around.) It's versatile and small for the price.

Interesting, I woke up this morning thinking of ways to make a DIY slide and immediately got up and went to Mcmastercarr.com to look at linear motion slides...
I'm really glad I found your channel this morning! I already have some of those low rpm motors for a different application and was also thinking of those to move the camera but with a gear system, not as simple as your ideas. I like your string and bathroom fan idea better. One thing you didn't mention is how to stop the camera when it gets to the end other than the switch of course. One idea would be to mount a limit switch on the slide so when it hits the end it stops it automatically.
Thanks for posting such great videos!
Nice man! Love it🙂👍
Really cool stuff. I really like the little car thing. May have to order 1 on my next payday
Pop a Ronin S with active track setup on it. Then use that on a slider. That would be killer.
You can also use that setup when your filming on your own and still be able to move around the room and have the camera follow you. I love my Ronin S setup with active track. Even personal vlogs look killer when using it. Adds a bit of live motion.
This was awesome info. Thank you Markus. I enjoy learning about your photography tip and tricks !
I love this Markus! I've been following your raw food channel for ages, and really happy to see this
Excellent. Very enjoyable and informative. Thanks Marcus.
Love your videos man. This was another gem
Awesome video dude. Love the string thing. Def going to try that. Thanks very mulchy. :)
Awesome...incredibly thorough...off the shelf or do it yourself. Thanks.
First video I've watched of yours. Great stuff consider me subbed!
Hmm...you got the wheels turning!
Will the friction sound from the slider leak to the camera?
Great ideas!! Thanks for sharing them!!
I absolutely LOVED your channel.
Thanks for all info shared.
Cheers from Brazil !!!
How do you fade the noise of the motor?
Excellent information and solution. Thanks for the video.
thank you Markus, i love you!
Nice to know. I love it
Nice! Thanks for the reviews
Fantastic - very interesting ideas, demo's & reviews !
Amazing!!!
brilliant! thanks
This is awesome 👏! Thanks for sharing Markus!
so Keith Urban's a camera guy now.
Apparently, the myth is atleast plausible.
Ya, I can't take this guy seriously, the hair to age ratio is distracting.
Kato Kaelin
@@ClydeGonzales haha, he's a great guy and very passionate about his life. It's very contageous if you give it a chance.
Ha! Thought the same thing!
Good tutorial. Thanks.
Very inspiring. Thank you for the great ideas.
for the first 20 or so seconds I thought oh no just another cheesy American ego crappy video but you really do explain it on a simple level that everyone can understand and that's highly appreciated
That's because I'm German
@@MarkusPix i had no idea. I didn't detect any accent at all but subbed

I am interested in getting a slider. Thanks for the info Markus
Sir you’re a gem
I've been gathering all kinds of motors for a while now. I'm trying to make a rotating platter where the motor doubles for a slider as well?!?
Absolutely awesome tutorial!
that was a great video.. I enjoyed that.. thanks for sharing.. I have experienced one of those motorised camera sliders by GVM 48".. but it's no good for stopmotion... but now I am looking for a way to connect the Manfrotto 410 geared head either to a tripod or to a camera slider... or track.. you given me some ideas now.. maybe I should just get a single track and bolt it down to the set.. as it doesn't have to be mobile..
Check out Edelkrone
Need help. I bought the NEEWER Slider Model ZY-A621-906 on Amazon and was only able to download the
application (IOS iPhone) in simplified Chinese language, with the QR Code fixed on the product.
How do I get the app in the English version?
Thank you Thank Thank you - Luv it!
You’re an awesome dude 😎
thank you awesome viewer
Thank you so much for the ideas !!!!! :)))
loved this video
so many good ideas, thanks for sharing.
I have seen those tracks second hand. I had no idea what they were.
I realy like your video.
Thank you! 😃
Claps for a Brüno!!!!
Danke Schoen darling
Thanks for sharing man ✌️
Great stuff! Thank you somuch!
Hi, Markus. I've just stumbled to your channel and I signed up. I have a feeling that I'm going to learn a lot from watching your channel. I would need them. I need a person to show me these things. I've just watch this for the first time and my eyes are opened to the possibilities and it doesn't have to be expensive equipment to work. Thank you so much. And of course, I'd like to win free stuff when you're ready to give some free stuff.
Welcome aboard!
Safety tip: in order to prevent your camera falling off the DIY slider, build a mechanism, you push a red button and a scissor cuts the wire
lmao- I found Markus for the cringe- but I've stayed for the ingenuity, and childlike creativity.
I had a mental block against him until this video.
