What is it that makes us human? Is it that we love, that we fight ? That we laugh ? Cry ? Our curiosity ? The quest for discovery ?
Driven by these questions, filmmaker and artist Yann Arthus-Bertrand spent three years collecting real-life stories from 2,000 women and men in 60 countries. Working with a dedicated team of translators, journalists and cameramen, Yann captures deeply personal and emotional accounts of topics that unite us all; struggles with poverty, war, homophobia, and the future of our planet mixed with moments of love and happiness.
The VOL.3 deals with the themes of love, women, work and poverty.
In order to share this unique image bank everywhere and for everyone,

I don't even know what to say about these movies. All I felt was like connecting with souls. Not with a country, a status, a gender or anything that can be labeled. The experience of watching this is beyond desciption and maybe that's what love and connection is; beyond description.

At the very end during the credits the woman who said she'd like to see more film makers in her village and she's so happy because the world will get to know her village a little more, and she doesn't know if anyone will ever see her.... that really made me smile so much and feel happy because all I wanted was to tell her that I see her, and I hear her. This whole movie was emotional but for some reason that last little moment got to me. I felt connected to her. I guess thats what this is all about :)

If you think it makes the world more human and viable... :D
This is just a mondialist propaganda to soften you and make you smile, day after day, and accept the existence of atrocities without revolting.
      Accomplished mission.
When will you all react ? Never ?

    • @eleanorfitz2143
      @eleanorfitz2143 8 років тому +46

ManuFerrara This series did not "soften me and make me smile" I don't know why exactly you would find that an appropriate summary of the "atrocities" told in these films. In that brief moment I smiled and felt connected. My point is that this film can help us connect to other people, other parts of the world, in ways that we never might have. This doesn't go solving any world problems thats for sure, but in order to solve any problem, you need to know it exists first. This film takes a step in doing that.
React? hmm... people may react in many ways after something like this, maybe donate, volunteer, perhaps pay more attention to foreign affairs and participate in politics, or vote differently. Next summer I'm going with a humanitarian group overseas to offer medical aid to the refugee crisis. After my studies I hope to spend much more of my time doing things like that. But if you are someone that can only see propaganda in this film, that is unfortunately just a problem of your outlook.

+ManuFerrara I did not see it that way... I smiled, I cried, yes, but in no way did it make me accept atrocities... Quite the contrary.... It opened my heart to everyone, and in such, love more.... And love is the way to change this world!

this film is absolutley incredible, probably the best doco i've ever seen.
Something inside of me just clicked while watching this. It's so easy to forget that among all of the hundrerds of faces you see everyday, everybody's got their own stories, tragic ones, incredible ones everybodys got something.
we often get so caught up in things that we don't stop and look at the people around us as humans, just something thats just, there.
idk i feel very inspired and it's like my whole perception of this world just changed..

Easy propaganda to make. Thx Mr Arthus-Bertrand. (Read Edward Bernays, Walter Lippman, Gustave Le Bon...)

So much Symbolism in the aerial shots. The last one being the lonely man against the expanse of his desolated surroundings, standing , not at the top of the mountain, but on a mid point, we don't know whether he's going or coming, and he's thinking who knows what. An analogy of the question about the meaning of life.

It just re fuels my soul, and somehow I just feel I am connected to everyone there and regardless of our background with so many different experiences, we still share the same feelings, happiness, sadness, fear... As other friends commented here I also think that this should be broadcasted to the whole world, every HUMAN should watch this at least once!!

  • @sultrylight7501
    @sultrylight7501 6 років тому +1

I've watched all three films, and - as others have said - feel overwhelmed by emotion. There are so many stand-out sections that I can see myself revisiting them many times. We learn so much about the lives of others - and also our own, about human nature, about out ineluctible plight. It's hard to explain to those who haven't watched what makes them so powerful and touching. Is it because all the people are completely authentic and unpretentious, because you can see what they are saying is genuine, without artifice, with the realities of their lives laid bare: the pain, the suffering, the joy, the despair, the trials, the harshness, their strengths and resilience, their flaws, their passion... How did the film makers get the participants to speak so naturally and from the heart?
One of the many sections I found particularly moving was the man in the first film, interviewed from prison, who had grown up with supposed "love" constantly expressed through beatings, and thought love was demonstrated through violence. He committed murder and was later shown real love by a family member of those he'd killed, the only time in his life he'd experienced true love. This moved me to tears. I've watched it a couple of times.
What also makes the films so captivating is the way the clips are put together, their juxtaposition, their flow, their interaction, the voice overlaps, including the scenic films interspersed that somehow don't seem incongruous, and provide context. And the music is particularly haunting and mesmerising. I recommend everyone to watch - and thank the film makers for making these wonderful films free to everyone.

Honestly, I don't want this to end, I wanted to listen and know more about the citizen of the this world of this planet of this earth we are living in. I want to know the true pure story of everyone. I know I sounds greedy of wanting to know all that, but, watching these three volumes of the human video, it left me all kind of feelings, some are feelings I have never known before. I feel so emotional which I can't control of. People are beautiful, no matter where or who you and I are, we are just human. Sincerely, I Thank You each and everyone who bravely share and tell their stories and opinion. and Thank you for making this films, how I hope I can be part of the team and see and listen to people. How I hope that no one care about what religion a person had, what status or level a person have, how rich or how poor a person is, whether a person is gay, lesbian, introvert, anti-social, diseased, or any other. Because we are same, we are human, just human. and we should just live and be kind to everyone and love everyone. how much I hope all these things doesn't matter and we human just live happily in this world, world without war without hatred but a world of peace and love. I will always pray for us brothers and sisters of the planet earth to live freely with peace and of love. What we do and allow to one of us...we do to all of us. The stories of our shared humanity is the ONLY way we will ever change this world for the better. Bless you....bless you....bless you....

I'm almost lost for words. THANK YOU!
I just watched all 3 volumes back to back, I couldn't stop watching. Now I don't want it to end. I feel like I want to hug them all, show love, share life and experiences with them all. Some of them I wanted to adopt into my family. Such beautiful people, they were open, honest and it came straight from their hearts. WE NEED MORE OF THIS ... AND ... LESS OF WAR, HATE, GREED AND CORRUPTION.
Thank you so much for the time, energy and heart that you all put into this to share with the world. I've shared it on social media and I hope that everyone will watch and soak it in and hopefully gain a new perspective and appreciation and love for human kind. Thank you.

It should be screened every where, always. What a great team to make this transformational film. Namastex

This film made my heart full of emotion. We get too comfortable judging people for being poor when they are not the ones with the power. Who controls the world and privilege? Education? Housing? Employment? Food? You don't even need to hear the story it is written all over their faces, in their eyes ... poverty does that to you. Imperfect Man cannot and will not bring true peace and security and harmony. Suffering will always be the reigns for the powers that be in their perverse, evil, domineering way to subjugate - Conquer and divide....generation street generation. The film makers also did a beautiful job with the land and seascape.

have watched all the 3 videos and it shed me tears all the time, my tears don't stop falling on my cheeks, and i don't know why.there is something in this videos that reminds me of what i am and the memories of my past that reminds me of who i am and what i am , the reason why i live and the reason to live.most of us perhaps have gone too far on our lives but still the past haunts us. it is the past that makes us what we are today and build our future.all scene of this videos and the peoples words of this videos punch a hole in my heart that brought me back the time when i was young and touches me deeply. we are of different race but after all we are all the same. it is humility that makes us HUMAN ..... a huge THANK YOU for sharing this very inspirational videos.

I was so much emotionally involved that i have watched all the three volumes in one sitting and when the third one came to the end I looked for the vol 4. It is really an experience and it made us realize what it is to become a human, just human. It also tells us that the day will come soon, especially after this corona virus crisis, when the 'nobodies' of the world will take to the streets and wipe the power mongering politicians off this world of ours.

It feels like the concept of "HUMAN The Movie" will live on in my mind for a long time. The topics discussed by these people from all around the globe combined would not make a person, rather, this is exactly what it is; a small part of one's own identity that several people can relate to and that is what's so inspiring.
The fact we can see that part of ourselves in others and how they express it, the stories from their past they share, how most of these people interviewed in HUMAN The Movie are ones who's existence - for many people watching - will only serve as telling us a little about themselves, which hits even harder bearing in mind how many haven't had the chance to share their experiences, documenting it forever. Kind of bittersweet when you think about it. That is what makes this so beautiful to me, like the scenery shown during the interludes.
    There's something human about that

The forces which rule over us would have us believe that we are different. They would have us fear one another, and hate one another, to be suspicious of one another and believe, at all times, that were it not for their power and their authority, that we would hurt and kill one another. But as we grow closer together and as these veils of lies are pulled aside, the truth we have learned is that we all wish only to be loved.

I pressed play to Volume 1 because I saw a beautiful shot of somewhere on Earth I had never seen before. Not only did I get to see more beautiful parts of the world while watching Volume 1, 2, and 3, but I also got to see so many beautiful people. So many beautiful smiles and the lights in their eyes. There were some that looked sad and heartbroken, some that looked a bit cold because of their circumstances, but all made me pause. There were many times I had to pause it, and take a breath. These videos made me feel pleasant, nostalgic, unsettled, confused, and anguished. The world is full of so much love, life, and corruption. Thank you for informing and educating me about the world and the people in it. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Just finished all three volumes back to back and would keep watching if there were more. I deeply felt all the emotions from each and every one of the people speaking. I love the diversity represented and feel as though I've "met" every kind of person on this Earth.
The display of Earth's beauty was a complimentary aspect to mirror the real beauty that's in the hearts of the people. All people, good and bad. I've been distraught and downright depressed because of what the "few in control" are doing to this planet. But after seeing this I have come away feeling more powerful than ever having been reminded thanks to this film, that We the People can and are going to save humanity and our Earth, one soul at a time. We can do it!! We have what they do not possess; the creative POWER OF LOVE.
Thank you to all the hearts and minds who've created this wonderful representation of the Human Spirit which is the most powerful thing in our universe. Thank You.

This series is magnificent. People all over the world, please never forget, we are one. In essence we all want the same things, friends, family, love. If we look beyond religion, nationality, sexuality or any other arbitrary trait we are able to really meet. If we all open ourselves to meet as humans we can make this world more beautiful than it already is.

so much beauty, so much suffering, so many questions...it is hard to imagine a more profound work of art or humanity, or one of more staggering import. It calls everything in my life into question, and I have been asking the deeper questions all of my life. I want to hold a salon, a series of gatherings with friends to watch one volume at a time, cry together, take time to write out the questions that arise from the films, and share the process of wrestling with what they are calling us to and breaking open in us.
