I've owned 4 pairs of Birkenstock in the past 15 years, I wish at least 1 of them falls apart so I can buy new one lol. Birkenstock is the best. Love them
Super birki clog, super noppy are somewhat waterproof and the discontinued Haiti and Aruba are totally waterproof. You can probably still find them new or used on eBay etc. like I did. Highly recommended. The also make a very lite and cheap plastic version of the Arizona that I don’t recommend. Hope that helps
birkenstocks are my favorite summer shoes. if you’re thinking about getting a pair, i highly recommend them. they’re very durable and comfy! i have two pairs and i wear them pretty much daily.
My first pair lasted 15 years of daily wear, from say late afternoon till bedtime. Camping, dog walks etc. My current pair actually just started dissolving, foot bed cracks, surface just started coming off, weird goo coming up from inside the cork. And all this was just on the right foot, the left only has one typical crack in the foot bed. But the soles are not even that worn. My first pair the soles were basically gone, but the rest was fine. I just ordered one of the cheaper models, as I lost faith in the normal ones.
They aren't water friendly. If the cork is cracking you can buy a cork sealant to prevent and repair cracking (Birkenstock sell the product). Chances are you wore then in rain, stepped in a puddle, or something involving water. The latex adhesive is probably the "gooing" situation you're facing and is separating from getting wet. If not then you have gotten a faulty pair.
I bought my first pair 2 years ago now I have 5 pairs in different styles. The original pair is as good as the new one. I fell in love with the comfort and how it eased all of my back and leg pain when walking and pounding the NYC pavement. Others have caught on and now seem very NYC chic.
I have a friend that lives in Germany and she said the price we are paying in the U.S. is basically paying for the import. She said they're about $50 or $60 there. I could be a little off in price but I know they're a lot more expensive here.
@@peat-mosspersephone3565 I'm talking direct sales. As for cobblers there are actually very few certified birkenstock repairers in Europe and when the added costs of shipping repair and material reaches the price of a new pair, there's a problem somehwere.
He/she might have abnormal foot width but there is no reason to be a dick about it. The product is made for the consumer and not the other way around. I'm sure there are small shoemakers with a greater custom shapes selection and just as high quality as Birks. A quick Google search will help
Danke!
They could make their product even more environmentally sustainable if they would remove that front bumper. The middle toe on my left foot bumps up against it and is bruised and painful. I'll probably have to chuck the shoes. That is not environmentally friendly! I've seen similar complaints. Not everyone has that sharply angled pointy-toed foot. We're all built a little differently, but these footbeds try to force you into someone's idea of a standard foot. Smarter design would make it a bit more flexible and removing this front bumper would be a good start.
They're meant to be broken down to your footshape like a pair of leather boots, but to make it go more quickly most people use a hammer to lightly tap the toe bar down if it's too high. You shouldn't get rid of it completely, though because that's what your foot is meant to hold onto as you walk
I was enjoying the video until you mentioned Nasa with their fake lying asses.....smh....and i laughed out loud when you said they use the cork in the spacecraft....lol....silly woman.....no one has ever been to the moon

I'm a loyal user to birkenstock but I wish this shoes can be more water friendly,
Ryan same, but they have a rubber version that’s actually really comfy!

Same but I just wear my EVA birks in the water
They use latex adhesive to be non toxic and more environmentally friendly. Would need to use their EVA waterproof line of footwear
Just got myself a pair . I’ve been wanting some for years ...
I love my Birks! The cork bed gives great support and prevents me from getting back aches
Yes Birkis are Good!Quality💜💜💗💗👍👍

I have two pairs of birkenstock :Arizona and Boston
I'm in love with them
It's fascinating to know how they're made

Since they outsourced production to other countries within the European Union their quality has taken a noticeable downturn
I bought the Arizona eva from their website and never looked back. I love them and will buy many more

Is stripping the bark from living trees sustainable
yes, it grows back unlike your left pinky toe
So many kabayans were using birkenstock
No wonder why they are so expensive lol.
well they last many years and a cobbler can repair them
20 Year Tokyos. Gona retire them.. but not throw them away.. Bought a new pair of Tokyos for 2024.
I love these shoes unfortunately for me the heel wears down quickly
Cork is nice
heck no these VSCO girls are killing trees
lσνє .lιєѕ they don’t actually cut down the tree
it’s different when the trees are grown to be used vs being taken from the wild
What?
Please Google it they are not cutting the trees you didn't see?
It’s not killing the trees tho. The dude in the video literally said it’s important to strip the bark after every 9 years

Hello
I can supply you cork raw material at reasonable price
That was originally designed for bugs to burrow. Do you haven't before bugs burrow?
So, they're made of of cork?
Yes

I lab birken
so my sandals are made out of trees?
if sustainability is important to you, how about having cork sole replacements for sale so we can repair ourselves or via repair centers.
They have for decades? Just take them to a cobbler and you can get the soles and the cork replaced whenever you need....
