I really like the songs he did with Roberta Flack especially "Where Is The Love" & "The Closer I Get To You". He struggled with mental health issues during his life. Sadly he died in 1979 at only 33 years of age.
I have read quotes of college professors saying that when he was their student studying music,, there was nothing they could teach him, that it seemed like he came with his talents built-in and that he taught them things❤

A musical genius/savant. He was a brillant musician who had mental health issues. He had maniac depression and psychosis. He didn't like the meds because he made him feel strange and decreased his creativity. So he wouldn't take them. He jumped off a balcony thinking that he could fly. Sad situation. Gone way too soon.
