My Rubicon has the dreaded blinking Sway Bar light on the dash. I also have the JKS quick disconnects, so I removed them to try to diagnose or free up the sway bar to reengage, and the two ends of the sway bar are moving independently like it is disconnected. I'll try to take it apart and re-lubricate like in this video to see if the motor can lock it back in place. Otherwise I may have to go to a junkyard and try to find a solid sway bar off a Sport or Sahara since I already have the JKS disconnects anyway...

You don't. It's pretty much impossible to access this type of system with a front end skid. JKS does make a wire pull actuated version that you can mount on your bumper, fender, etc.
Man, I wish my smartbar failed like everybody else's. My motor is good and internals are free but the bar ends are seized into the cast housing halves so it stretches the isolater enough to let the housing contact the condensor. Do you know if the housing uses bushings or bearing to let the bars rotate?

Janet ... Just take the sway bar off the Wrangler and perform the same steps they did in the video. The light is blinking probably because the motor is stuck. Make sure the gears move freely.

This is for the Rubicon models with the factory electronic sway bar disconnect
Once you install the manual sway bar disconnect, will this make the flashing sway bar light stop flashing?
No
You have to get the car programmed to stop looking for the electronic sway bar. Any mechanic with a programmer can do it.
My 2017 Rubicon has a metal skid plate under the sway bar disconnect motor. How do you get to that manual knob with the skid plate in place? Thanks!

I believe it has a bearing located on each side of the cast housing. Most likely you will have to replace bar and housing.
Dealership wanted $3000 to fix mine. I said hold up. Look on here...... $90 and I dumbass like me could do it my self.

But what about the light that will come on in the dash?
The light flashes when it is trying to engage. By removing that function it thinks that it is disengaged when you disconnect the motor.
so do I need to disconnect the light?
That or else the AEV Procal Programmer can turn that light off.
