I was 17 at the time and didn't know any better and I just walked 1h30 back to my car.
You don't know the half of what goes on in courts. The D.A.'s lie, cops lie, judges lie and don't admit when they're wrong (THIS is an upstanding judge as far as I can tell)....juries find the innocent...the clearly innocent guilty so they don't get a used of being racist or something similar. Do some research and you will see most accused plea guilty for a lesser charge due to these and many many other factors. Even a lesser charge ruins lives though.

Literally something similar happened to me, the cops lied, got arrested for public disorderly conduct and they wrote down in the report that I was yelling and was wasted as shit and this and that.. so I eventually got out the next day and went to court a month later and literally the cop didn't even show up for court and the judge just dismissed the whole case.
