You're so welcome 😊 the Malden is a bit of classic when it comes to Filofax so it seemed fitting to do a 'show and tell' seeing as I managed to get my hands on 2 different sizes.
I've got A5, personal and pocket maldens in a variety of colours. The pen loop is the absolute worst thing about the Malden. I also prefer the older leather they used. The modern leather has an odd plastic feel. The notepad pocket is on the newer ones, but the slip pocket behind it had gone on newer models. They are a beautiful planner though. I do like a Moterm too, for the large back pocket. Lovely review.
Oh gosh, those pen loops 🫣 but I can forgive the Malden because it's still a gorgeous planner! I've heard that the back slip pocket was no longer on the newer ones so I checked their website and found that some sizes (personal for sure) have it. Thanks for watching and sharing 🥰
@@PlanningwithChloe Are you sure? Just saw one in our shop Made in China without it bu aso saw one from Indonesia (old batch) and it has the back pocket however the leather is noty as shiny as the China made models.
Ah, that's interesting! So it would seem that it may be hit or miss as to whether you get the back pocket and that it is dependant on where you buy from? Thanks so much for sharing that info.
I have the A5 in Ochre and Personal in Purple. The Personal is probably a good 8 or 9 years old and is really worn in. I used to use it as a reference binder for work... now it flits between by EDC or home desk planner. The A5 is my work planner but it is heavy to lug with the laptop back and forth to the office .... do love them both though.... 😊
Ooo I've not seen that colour, sounds like a yummy rich hue. That's the only downside to releases of special colours 🫤 I'm wondering how long the pastel pink will be around for - as I'm very tempted!
Do the Personal & A5 not have the back wall pocket? Why can't they have the same configuration for all sizes? So annoying. I'm waiting on my 1st Malden which is the Pocket size :)
I love my personal size, it’s beautiful and sleek but the tiny rings is always a deal breaker. I try to use it but I cannot fit even the basic of inserts so it always go right back on the shelf 😞😞
Pros: a lot of pockets, cons: too heavy because of the leather. For people who want a portable Filofax : A5 and personal Filofax Clipbook is the best solution: it's not leather, it's highly portable, not heavy at all
I can attest to that with regards to the A5 - but I still love it! The A5 ClipBook was where my planner journey restarted after a 10 year break - also love those too (I have 3 🫣)
Love your video! I’ve been thing about getting a Malden and I appreciate your detailed overview. Thank you!

1 A5, 1 Personal, 1 Pocket, love them
Ooo, which colours did you choose?

I adore the ochre colour so rich and down-to-earth. Wow 8 or 9 years, very good innings for a planner! Just shows how hard-wearing the Malden is.
I have 2 personal maldens and 2 A5 maldens , totally love them ❤️
Thanks for watching and sharing Wendy - which colors do you have (and which is your all time fave)?
@Planning with Chloe , I have the aubergine purple, I think that was the colour name ( not available from filofax anymore 😢)

@@PlanningwithChloe not sure if I can download a picture on here
Are u on Instagram - would I see it there?
Haven't got a malden jet but want to buy the charcoal pocket one 😍 buy I think they are sooo expensive 🙄
They are expensive, but worth it. I managed to pick mine up as pre-loved items from Ebay, However, it's much harder to find the new colours that way.

Oh yes the rings are quite small on the personal - I think they're just 23mm! But it does make it good as an on-the-go planner.
