A 2-in-1 mechanical pencil with a pen might alleviate needing two writing instruments.

i definitely cant do two planners. i have tried. i have to have it all together. if i dont have my planner on me - which is rare - i put it on my phione - which i maintain anyways - and take a pic and add to my planner. my biggest fear is marking one thing in one place and not another and then all my hard work being organized is for naught lol. grat video

I had the same issue and my way of resolving it was to use both my phone and a pocket planner. I use the my phone to schedule my day in my calendar app and the pocket planner to write down the things that are not event or scheduled related, like notes or ideas. My pocket planner only had a Filofax year at a glance pull out that I can write down any important upcoming events and one off tasks and note sheets to write down ideas, brainstorm etc. and it also doubled as my wallet. I had also used daily sheets in my pocket planner where I planned out my day in it and the note sheets to gather ideas and notes. This allows me to do monthly and weekly planning, work and my goals in my A5 planner. I find rewriting your ideas from the pocket planner to your A5 allows you to rethink about your ideas and expands on them more, so being more in-depth.

I am an A5 bullet-journal boy and do not own a purse at all so here’s my solution. Note: I do use my digital calendar for appointments only. Then I cut an A5 sheet in half vertically and shoot 6 holes with the perforator. Then I cut those in half horizontally and make a stack of (now) A7 paper. Then I use a heavy paper or cardboard A6 folded in half to cover my stack of A7paper. I use a paperclip to hold everything together like a nice little booklet and this slips in my pocket. I use it for rapid logging and lightbulb moments that need to be written down. And later I can just clip them in my A5 journal at the date and place it belongs

So funny how different everyone is, and how preferences and perceptions vary! I chose to go to an A5 rings from a letter size planner because I wanted something *small*! I wear a backpack when I go to and from work. My A5 rings and my Erin Condren A5 coil notebook (my journal), along with a "planny pack" with about a dozen pens all go in there with plenty more space for my work stuff. I don't carry a separate purse when I go to work. I have a large wallet on a wristlet, that also has my keycard, office keys, bus pass, etc easily available and I carry that all the time. When I don't have my backpack, I usually carry a smallish tote that holds my laptop if I need to take it somewhere. It also holds my A5 rings. But I don't usually take my planner with me when I just go to the mall or to buy groceries. My phones go in my pockets, even when I walk the dog.

I am very surprised you actually like that online goal setting system. I never liked it. Because yes, it is set and forget it. Because in the beginning of the year higher management will make you do that but then guring the year... nobody cares and you don't really use all these "set in progress" functions. Not to mention that in my field certain things change over time so setting goals for the year is... crazy, as you don't know what workload comes to you next quarter

You have an amazing way of looking at it! Everybody has different needs and different experiences and lives. I’m currently carrying 3 books daily. One small hobo weeks for food/move journal, one main Hobonichi cousin for my functional/ memory keeper for myself and my family and one separate for my daily feelings and/or tracking. I even have a 4th but it stays at home and it’s for my kids only. I will just jot significant notes for them there like memories really. I originally started with cloth and paper and a ring binder and made a beautiful setup and tried to play and it was too structured for my liking so I gifted mom with it🧡

I think my almond colored pocket came with inserts with blue font, so I’m jealous of these minimal inserts. PS I love this planner. I upgraded from a peeled and cracked ‘17 Domino and it’s perfect!

I'm going into a 7x9 disc planner for all things I must do it will stay at home. I have just received my Travelers notebook for a Yearly, monthly on the go along with notes and anything else I might need. I needed lighter for out and about.

I prefer the one planner and dealing with the extra weight

I just hold a straight edge against the vertical line I want to highlight-even an envelope or sticker backing works, and it helps 🤗

I have the smaller, simpler planner that travels with me when I can't take my a5. I use sticky notes to track new things- new apps get put on a sticky note. Then, when I am back at my a5, I look at both planners and write in the new appt in both planners. It makes it easy to find the things that need to be integrated.

Do the Personal & A5 not have the back wall pocket? Why can't they have the same configuration for all sizes? So annoying. I'm waiting on my 1st Malden which is the Pocket size :)

I just found your planner and subbed! I run two businesses from home and homeschool. I love my classic FC planner and carry it with me when I'm out and about in a big tote which also holds my small crossbody purse for running into stores. All my appointments go into my phone first onto my Google calendar, and then I transfer them into my paper planner at the beginning of the week and throughout the week as needed. Like a previous commenter said, my online calendar is the single point of truth for appointments. And keeping track of two bags is much easier than mirroring all info between two planners. Thank you for making this video! I love your delivery style.

I am seriously considering a physical planner, but one thing bothers me. How do you take care of repeat tasks like your insurance payment and other financial stuff? Do you input it right at the start of the year and what happens when you can’t do it on that particular day, do you have to re-enter it on the next day. And what about little things like pay the electric bill et cetera. If I could get this kind of stuff out of the way, I think I could move to physical.

Good to know they took out those card slots on the flyleaf, I’m so glad they did! Love the new slanted pocket. And I love where the pen loops are! If they were exactly the same level, it would bug the heck out of me. 😆 LOVE that you call snaps, “Poppers.” 😄😍 and I think when you have the planner filled with papers, it will lay flat. All of my Moterms have always laid flat.

Thank you for this, how do you set up the computer to print 3 personal sized pages onto one a4 sheet of paper?

I use mini rings for my wallet. I also needed a way to write down dates and times in the future. I decided to use a year on 3 pages future log. It’s just the month calendar on one side and 4-5 lines next to it. I jot down the task and time (due to small space ex. Dentist 10AM) once a month when I’m setting up my calendar in my main planner I open up my wallet to see if there’s anything I need to add.

Did you use A4 paper? Isn't this small for 3 pieces
