Every deck got to go off, nobody was too oppressive, this is the kind of game we love to see. Would like liked to see a bit more from the Belbe deck, but Obeka going off made up for it.
I similarly would have liked to see more from the Belbe deck :) The early hate from JLK into having to discard almost my entire hand from the Plague Crafter really set me back. Still a really fun game though!

@@sasukeds Ok but you do see that JLK was forced into directing everything he could into removing Murph as he dies to the sanctum trigger if he fails to do so. It was excellent use of the Lich triggers by Ashlen to put him in that spot and direct his attention away from her going into the late-game. Really powerful plays by all decks and a fun watch.
@@MrOHKO Yes I agree on that part! However Josh was directing his hate all game at Murph which was a huge bummer to see him targeted like that when there are other threats. Josh even mentions that Murph is his enemy early in the game, so he might have locked in on the Belbe deck.
I love the fact that Josh and Jimmy constantly tell everyone to "Always pay the one", yet almoust nobody pays for the rhystic study during this game xd
I consider this a mistake now in my games not to pay the one. better delay a little your gameplan than make opponents draw a ton of cards. Especially when it's their only one draw engine

There were several opportunities where Ladee and Ashlen had available mana or could have afforded to not play other spells to prevent Josh from drawing and that was a little frustrating
you gotta feel it out sometimes....usually you go for the suboptimal play just so you can pay the 1....but you cant fall behind just so they can draw cards...its pretty obnoxious that way

ghen was a big underdog in commander discussions so im happy to see that card preform well considering how people can be biased about enchantment decks
One of the coolest games I’ve ever seen on the channel. Seeing ladee, Ashlen and josh go off absurdly three turns in a row was so exciting. These are also just four really cool commanders and really well designed, leading to fun and different play patterns. Commander legends has so many interesting things to build around.
As an editor I admire the way this is done. Keeping everything out of frame allows for those slick quick cuts for searches & whatever else we don't see in the final edit. Well done.
It's really a fantastic set. I'll admit I play Korvold and Yarok but the commanders from this set are powerful as well as unique and interesting unlike some of the generic goodstuff commanders we've gotten the last couple years. I've already built Neinyrral, Obeka, and in the process of building Yurlok. Might covert my Yarok lands deck into Archelos.
Mardu enchantment (or curses) has been a thing quite recently. It's great because red and black do have a lot of cool and often expensive enchantments that can ruin someones life or create absolute chaos. Seeing a commander specifically targeting that playstyle is very nice.
from my year or so playing Mardu I feel that I have to resort to enchantments to grind value as most of the time they are hard to interact against and creatures die too easily unless I am playing a dedicated aggro or aristocrat deck which I seldom do seeing Ghen gives quite an opportunity to make use of enchantments in a different way
Wow great game everyone ! I loved how every player got a chance to shine with their decks. This one was really a nail-biter. And I was so rooting for Ashlen because I was building an Araumi deck as I was watching the video but notheless, congratulations to Ladee !

The time Jinn was stolen it left the battlefield at the end of the term and the time JLK played it he then died to the extort trigger so the hand size never became relevant.
That was a great match, everyone did cool stuff. Was really fun that Ashlen and Lady were the ones duking it out at the end. Showing women kick butt in Magic too!
When Josh is going crazy with all those extra turns, I think he should've kept Lightning Greaves on Obeka (for safety). I think everything should've had haste without it because of the Anger he discarded to Vindictive Lich.
wow, you're doing a lot of extra turns recently It's just great to see your channel grow with stability guys. I bet there was a time production was getting hard on you and we could feel it but you are on fire now. Idk if you know that but there are a bunch of channels actively taking lessons from the way you produce stuff (specially because of that "how do we make game knights" video)
It’s official, Josh Lee Kwai’s Obeka deck is THE COOLEST DECK I’VE EVER SEEN PERIOD. Truly 10/10 deck building there holy crap. (For my own reference) 11:24 - an incredibly well-played turn. 16:36 - even cooler back-to-back turns. And finding Demonic Tutor is crazy. 31:15 - this is just like... unbelievable Magic. 🤯 However it is noteworthy that the untouched Rhystic Study did most of the work for him... But still
Best part is the VO insert of what should have been Josh saying "Torential Gearhulk" at 34:14... I work in sound I hear things lol. Ya'll are the best love the content! I just had a bit of a laugh as I'm playing this through my studio monitors.

The cool part is that you can flavor Obeka's reanimation as her bringing back the creature THROUGH TIME! Like literally punching into time and dragging the creatures kicking and screaming into the fight, with other versions of themselves throughout the time stream via Encore.
You know why she did it? Because of Ashlen telling her earlier that she would have totally encored the Phyrexien Triniform if Ladee wouldnt have stolen it. Thats why she only sacrificed it after Ashleen paied a large amount of her available mana because she was afraid of Ashlen encoring that thing on her turn.
I don’t think it works that way or else it’s be overpowered...I think only the player who’s turn it is can choose to end said turn. Very useful in Josh’s deck but only useful to the other players if someone counters a spell that the Obeka player wanted on the board or to resolve
@@stellico9365 but the other players could choose to not end the turn. It’s not overpowered because it’s different from time stop for the reason that players have a choice to end the turn.
@@dudeguy3173 the ENTIRE game is different if that sidnt happen! Danger wouldn't gotten joshes hand, so she would not of drawn seven cards. Josh would have a creature next turn.... literally entire ripple effect! Usually the mistakes are minor if they have any, but this one is crucial.

@@nostalgiagaming2365 I traded in some good stuff just to get half the cards I needed for the deck 😂. Almost there though! I’m following a different build, but making some changes along the way. For example, I’m not running Last Chance. The price of that card practically doubled over night. Almost $100. So I took that out (for now) lol.
I had a deck built around this same concept using Inalla, Sundial of the Infinite, and a bunch of tutors, but having the end turn ability baked into the commander makes the whole thing much more elegant. Though doubling up on mages every turn is neat and Obeka could run as both the commander, or just one of the 99 for extra chances at the Sundial effect.
Small MTG mistake, at 42:29 Ladee plays land for turn, then again does the same thing in the same turn at 44:04. She has no you may play a second land per tern effect active. Unless I have failed to spot that enhancement on her board.
21:42 am I missing something? He had 6 colorless and spent 3 of it and cast 3 spells but didn't pay for a single Rhystic Study trigger... I'm confused to say the least.

I've been brewing Jeskai Landfall with Toggo and Ishai as the Commanders. So not Rakdos Landfall, but it doesn't have green in it.
Some of those turns were mind bending. A ton of respect for these players especially for ordering their plays and managing their Mana masterfully.

I think he intentionally was playing nice because his next turn he casts windfall. Effectively he played worse so the game could be better.

The cool part is that you can flavor Obeka's reanimation as her bringing back the creature THROUGH TIME! Like literally punching into time and dragging the creatures kicking and screaming into the fight, with other versions of themselves throughout the time stream via Encore.

You know why she did it? Because of Ashlen telling her earlier that she would have totally encored the Phyrexien Triniform if Ladee wouldnt have stolen it. Thats why she only sacrificed it after Ashleen paied a large amount of her available mana because she was afraid of Ashlen encoring that thing on her turn.

When Ladee cracked burnished hart how evil would it have been for Josh to activate Obeka and Murph to say yes?
I don’t think it works that way or else it’s be overpowered...I think only the player who’s turn it is can choose to end said turn. Very useful in Josh’s deck but only useful to the other players if someone counters a spell that the Obeka player wanted on the board or to resolve
@@stellico9365 but the other players could choose to not end the turn. It’s not overpowered because it’s different from time stop for the reason that players have a choice to end the turn.

Usually the mistakes are minor if they have any, but this one is crucial.
Josh could have saved Hullbreacher right before his Windfall. That would have done a ton to help him win.

@@nostalgiagaming2365 I traded in some good stuff just to get half the cards I needed for the deck 😂. Almost there though! I’m following a different build, but making some changes along the way. For example, I’m not running Last Chance. The price of that card practically doubled over night. Almost $100. So I took that out (for now) lol.
I had a deck built around this same concept using Inalla, Sundial of the Infinite, and a bunch of tutors, but having the end turn ability baked into the commander makes the whole thing much more elegant. Though doubling up on mages every turn is neat and Obeka could run as both the commander, or just one of the 99 for extra chances at the Sundial effect.

Small MTG mistake, at 42:29 Ladee plays land for turn, then again does the same thing in the same turn at 44:04. She has no you may play a second land per tern effect active. Unless I have failed to spot that enhancement on her board.

He spent all of it on the spells he cast. Had no extra to pay.
