- Hello friends! I didn't know I had this video until it popped up on a Facebook memory today. Apparently I did this walk-around two years ago. As some of you know, this VW is featured this month (April '23) in Hot VWs Magazine. I am super thankful and happy that I had the opportunity to build this car.
It's not just a car, it's a rolling driving piece of art.
Thank you for the compliment!
She’s a beauty! Everyone will be looking her over for sure at the show! ❤️
Thanks Pat!
Awesome VW Hot Rod, thanks for the video.

Absolutely Stunning Micha!!! You Did A Beautiful Job Not Only In Design But Also Executed Flawlessly!!!!
You Should Always Be Proud And Always Remember Your Jimmy And Your Time Together Building It!!!
Keep Rocking It Out Sister!!!
Amazing detail on that bug! Absolutely love it!
Thank you JAWBREAKER!
The proportions are perfect 👌 that might just be the most beautiful bug I've ever seen.
❤love it
What a beautiful build! Over-the-top, but still functional.👍New subscriber.
Thank you!
Really nice build!! Proportions are perfect.
Thank you for the compliment!
You can never go wrong with a split window, also love the tail lights.
Thanks!
Beautiful little car
Thanks Ray!
cool! I finally got to see the car! haha.. sorry for whining about it haha. this is fantastic! you are very talented!
Thank you so much!
Wow, that's fantastic! like a Hot Wheels toy come to life. The rear suspension is very unique. I also like the floating center-console in the interior. A lot of thought gone into this car inside and out. Achieving the chop by shortening the body is pure genius as it gives the car real cartoon-like appearance.
Hello Martin, thank you for the compliments and leaving the comment. I honestly don't know where I come up with some of the ideas. I usually go to bed at night with a problem in my head and when I wake up the next morning I think of the solution. Sometimes it takes a few months- for instance, the spoiler is not just a spoiler, but a cover for the air filters. When my husband decided to use a dual Weber set up, the air filters wouldn't fit under the hood because I tucked the drivetrain and rear suspension under the body as far as it would go (a "channel"). I tried to mock up scoops of different varieties and nothing looked good. One morning I woke up and I had the solution to my problem!
@@WolfeKustoms Being a creative individual myself, I can identify with your experience about "designing" in your sleep! And yes, sometimes it takes a while waiting for that eureka moment. I have a few projects that sit until an idea comes to mind that I want to implement!
That rear wing covering the air cleaners is an interesting touch. My bug runs a single SU carb (someone told me it couldn't be done....) and the air cleaner (a chrome Harley Sportster item) sticks out through a hole in the engine lid where the license plate used to sit!
GREAT WORK!
😎 Great job 👍
thank you!
Love the VW. Hope to see you work on the Nash on top of the container.
Very slick!
Thank you!

The front trunk side panels are really a nice edition. A wonderful car. Thanks.
Thank you! I will be doing more videos on this car this spring.
Cool.@@WolfeKustoms
Looks great , sounds great ,a lot of thought gone into this project .Cheers from the uk.
Thank you for the compliments! I really appreciate you checking out my video!
Very nice bug! You did excellent work. I'm a "Bug Nut". And a machinist and fabricator. I can appreciate all the work you've done. WOW!! Hint- Watch all the ums and uhs while you're talking. A pause is better. A hard habit to break. Lots of luck on future builds. I'm lovin' the content.
Hello Buickluvr! Thank you for watching the video. I know- I am really bad about the ums and uhs. I have a hard time concentrating some times and I forget where I am at when I am talking. Weird huh?
@@WolfeKustoms You just learn to listen to yourself talk and when you pause, don't say anything. It's what they teach you in "Public Speaking" class. I used to do it. I love your work! And all the little details!
Hello, I am retired VW mechanic and want to chop a bug. I like the way you described your process. I have shortened a 66 bus and built rail buggies. I need to know where your cuts were made. I wateched your video 15 times about 1. cut post A & B. Pie cut A pillars. After that I'm not sure. Thanks, Tim
Thats one beautiful bug! My brother has a grey one just like it. He put a jet engine in his last spring, and the chicks really dig him!
Keep up the cool videos (:
Thank you for watching!
Very sexy. Well done guys
Thank you for the compliment!
Look ma , it's only got one carb !
I just saw your earlier video. I appreciate the additional info on this one.
One question regarding the split window....did you make that too?
Hi, thank you for checking out my video! I purchased a fiberglass panel to convert it to split window. At the time, I didn't have an English Wheel and my metal shaping skills were a little primitive. If I had to do it all over again, I am confident that I could build the panel out of metal now.
@@WolfeKustoms >>confident that I could build the panel out of metal now.
@@WolfeKustomsHey Micah!
Getting ready to build my steel split window frames.. I was wondering if I could ask you a favor. Could you give me a rough measurement of the L & W of the glass size or opening? Please and thank you.
Super.....😏
Thank you Vaughn!
great job is the rear windows a fibreglass insert?
Thank you for the compliment. Yes, it is. I purchased the panel from Glass Action, I believe they are out of Arizona.
He built it, not you
What? You don't think I built the bug? Ha! I have the pictures to prove it! Please feel free to check out my videos and subscribe. I think I will make a believer out of you; have a good day!
one of the nicest chop topped bugs i've ever seen, great job. i'm curious though as in both vids you refer to it as a "67", yet the roof, rear window and apron are all "52 split window" little confusing.
Hello @uglykidmoe150, yes, it is a '67. I made it a split window and added the "W' deck lid. Sometimes I like to tease purists and say, yeah, this was an original split window. A great barn find! Their reaction is priceless! Thank you for the compliment.
