Steve! Amazing work to say the least! How do you plan on getting sufficient airflow to the radiator? Are you mounting it up front? I just acquired a 1970 V8 Beetle and realized I will need to modify the hood to get air to the radiator. What are your thoughts?
it is going to have a rear mount radiator. 4 core aluminum with a turbo style pump circulating the water. as far as why didn't I go with the VW engine. I like the sound of the V8 and I'm more of a V8 hot rod guy. plus I know nothing about Volkswagen engines. this motor is dine out at about 525 horse and dollar-for-dollar I don't think you can get that out of a VW engine.
@@stevesummey3177 a 4cyl blow thru VW aircooled engine built to do 300HP will keep up with that heavy V8 engine and cost a fraction as much.. Just so you know for future reference and builds... ((VW is as simple as engines get.. same methods as V8's when you turbocharge.. Google Kris Lauffer's Paradise Motorsports Drag Bug "HATER MAKER" that has one of those setups..
I am still working on it Boot to new house 15 acres built a new shop. So unfortunately it went on the back burner for about a year and a 1/2. But I'm back on it is getting close to come in off the frame jig

the maximum HP i have see on a beetle engine is around 300HP with a supercharge, still impressive for a small engine
