did he jump with some kind of harness or comepletely free of harnes.. I have wondered if all the rocks causes trees to have less roots. But he says disease. Can the ground be treated then for that...Or did it develop from hole in tree. this is all good to know. i suppoe rapping or a tapping to the tree will indicate the interior condition???
Not good when a master like Nick gets scared. A healthy fear is one thing, actually having a fright from a close call is quite another. Glad your ok Nick! One of the most dangerous jobs in the world. The table looks fantastic! Don't mess with the new fountain, you will be pleasantly surprised at how fast they age. Just throw a gallon of water from the old fountain into the new fountain to establish nitrates and let nature do its thing
Well done Nick and Cameron, you guys are worth your weight in gold. I saved an old discarded dining table with the method Wendy used and it was stunning too once I waxed it, it also came with 6 exhausted chairs, which I sanded, mixed stain and wax to bring them back to life and reupholstered the seats. I was able to donate them to a family who lost everything in a fire. We saw their rebuilt home on a house selling website some 15 years later and yes they still had the dining suite in use. K🇬🇧❤❤
Nick and Cameron are no strangers to danger, so when Nick says he was scared, it must have been really bad. Lots of admiration for both Nick and Cameron who are just amazing. Kirsty obs has more strength in her little finger than most of us - fantastic lady. I was most impressed with the white mark removal. We all learnt a trick there. ☺
Grab some moss from the forest and put it in a blender with some soot and some non pasteurised milk of yogurt and paint it onto the stone. In a few weeks it will be mossy and darker.
Those trees can be so scary! I am glad that Nick and Cameron are ok. We have Ash trees that are in that condition here in the US. We have had to cut alot of them in our woods. We call the trees that are hung up on the others, widow makers because you do not know for sure what will happen taking them down. Thank you for your wonderful videos. You brighten up our days with your kindness and wit. Be safe everyone!
When Nick admits something is dangerous work, it must be really dangerous! Always interesting to watch the two of them at work and hear the explanations. Enjoying the "day in the life" nature of these videos. The departure of Maria and Pavlini and the arrival of Hanni, Wendy and Sabrina are such a reminder of the extended LaLande family. All different but all wonderful people, so the love, laughter and energy changes but never leaves!
So, so happy to see that nothing bad happened to Nick and Cameron on this job so well done. Those 2 are quite a team of expert at what they do. Nick is the Master at what he does, but there is always a danger. Well deserve to have a good relaxing evening, guys and perhaps a nice little whisky to finish this day. - Rosalind -
Here in the US we heard that France had experienced 80 mph winds. You had very severe turbo wind-sheer - amazing what mother nature’s force can shift. So glad no buildings were damaged or no one was hurt.
Just caught the end , steph you are awesome keeping the lalande family alive and celebrating! With so many away ! Yes! You are the lady of the manor no doubt!
Great update on the tree work, glad the guys are safe. Just want to say how amazing Kirsty is looking! Love seeing everyone working together and eating meals together.
Tea would wash off as it will be outdoors. Runny acrylic artist paints mixed to match fountain centre uprights, and then wiped off with a rag, should do it though.
How clever of Wendy to restore your table that way 👏👏👏 I’m going to share the trick with my mum as she has a mark on her dining room table that has been bothering her for ages and this may help 😀
Wow!! I lived in Iowa USA all my life. We are always getting tornadoes every year. I have seen guys be killed by cutting a tree down and it snaps and goes in opposite direction. It is frightening!! I love this episode! Going to watch again. Hee hee 😂. Lots of love from Tennessee USA!!❤
Hi All, Another wonderful vlog on trees and removing heat stains from the tabletop. I'll do that immediately to one of the dining room tables here. We use two, one for daily dinners and one for larger parties. Thanks for the solution to the rings on the table. Also, you may want to get booties for the dog. he is more accustomed to smooth floors in the Chateau so the courtyard and roads may be too rough on his tiny feet. His feet may also be cold on outdoor surfaces. Too cold, too rough, etc. Mark & Scott
Oh my, those poor trees. Good thing that Nic and Cameron are on the job! I’m going to have to try the towel and dry iron on my marked up table! Thanks for that priceless info!
Nick and Cameron are so wonderfully eccentric.......they look like they've just walked out of a Clint Eastwood movie!...............................oh that tip for ironing the table of water marks is amazing......thanks!
Nick Cameron IMAGINE 5 acres , a wind storm back in 2015, and over 75 pine trees that size falling down all in a few minutes. By next year I will have cut, split, stacked, and burnt in my wood stove along with limbs branches and twigs. yep just stoked my wood stove and I even cook all my hot meals on it. Love Jennifer from Washington state
So sad about the trees. That is really scary! So lucky to have Nick and Cameron. I have a table I would like to try that "trick" on. Wendy, do you mind revealing the temperature of the iron?
Wow - good thing Nick and Cameron discovered all the issues with the trees, sounds like it’s going to be quite a large job to get all of them down. Hopefully they can do it before another storm snaps more of the tree tops down.
Phillip & Stephanie you need to research how much of a long walk a small breed puppy with short legs needs that’s safe. He’s probably telling you it’s not comfortable and safe… think how tiny his heart is…
You're right! Pupps younger than 6 months do not need excersize more than playtime and regular activity, in fact it can really impact their joints negatively when they're older. I don't think the morning walk is very far and long though, but if he shows signs of fatigue he needs to be picked up; too much excersize to young is a common error. But I'm sure they know what they're doing, I know Steph wont let him jump down from laps and furniture which is totally right until he's much more grown, so I assume the breeder has given some good instructions. Patella trouble is a thing with toy sized dogs and very painful. It's lack of those restrictions during their growing "soft bone stage" and unfortunate genetics that cause it.
The soft jelly like part between their bones isn’t set yet and can damage it for the future. You could get a backpack and put him on your back. Even going down a long flight of stair isn’t desirable.
I like Nick with the shorter beard. The blue beard made me notice his blue eyes. Previously, the only thing I noticed was the beard! Gosh, Nick and Cameron risk life and limb everytime they climb with a chain saw.
In Ontario, Canada several years ago in the Muskoka region we had a disease go through our Beech tree population. The trees were rotting from the middle out. Entire swaths of Beech trees needed to be culled. The wood couldn’t even be used for burning until it had been quarantined for a year or two. It was devastating. The “tell” is a slight furry mold like covering is on the trunks of standing trees. So many trees had to be taken as they were ticking time bombs. I’m sure Nick can look into the matter with a quick google search. Take care and stay out of forests on high wind days!!
I want to know more about Nick! What's he about? Any stories behind those tattoos? What got him into trees? He's such a wealth of knowledge regarding forestry!
Nick and Cameron, great job. Hello all at the chateau. Seems a bit empty with everyone gone, but I'm happy everyone else is there. Phillip, every time you tablescape, it is truly a work of art. I always look forward to entertaining guests to see what you come up with.
I do miss the longer style of video but I must admit I enjoy every second of your personality and sense of humorous POV.❤ All you're loved ones and their different ways and unique qualities each one of you are so loved not only by God but by so many hearts it's beautiful to be a part of thank you my friend for All you do stand strong for God is on your side. We love you and so many things about you ANIGA ALWAYS AND FOREVER
I know Nick and Cameron are experts and take safety very seriously. But I have a heart attack everytime I see Nick on a skinny or dead tree that can do something unexpected.
May my prayers for wisdom, intuition, and skill always go with Cameron and Nick each time you when you have a lot of iffy trees to cut.❤ Blessing to you for you hard work.
Happy belated Thanksgiving Stephanie! Please, let us know, how your mom and your stepdad are doing? Ever time I watch your videos, I keep thinking about the community that you formed within your chateau de La Land. It is a grace, to open the door of your home, and create the atmosphere of enjoyment that you have there. Happy thanksgiving to you all❤
Very thankful Nick and Cameron are alright. Do not like it when they use the term "dangerous." At all. Thankful they are the caretakers of Lalande's woods. Love seeing Hanni and Wendy at the Chateau and the goings on outside, including surfing. it's a lovely break from being in the kitchen. It's always good seeing Kirsty. Looking forward to seeing Davey and work on the garden by the Chapel. Hope the weather cooperates. Everyone stay warm and safe.
You could try giving a paint wash to the outside of fountain, using acrylic art paints at a quite runny consistancy. ( like a cup of cocoa consistancy, if that makes sense) Raw umber, paynes grey, and maybe a dash of yellow ochre mixed to achieve a colour similar to the actual fountain...Let it run into the carving so it creates a bit of depth. ( But be sure to try it on a bit of scrap reconstituted stone first, or an a less obvious area of fountain). Instead of letting it air dry, wipe it off again with a rag, so you just get a subtle effect. I have done this on some recon stone in garden and so far has lasted about 5 years. It won't peel off, just gently fades away over time, by which time it should be aging nicely anyway. Then add some yoghurt to grow moss. For the inside surface of the fountain base, you might consider painting it, maybe a pale blueish colour, which would be traditional. I am trying to figure how far back Nick must have had to jump to escape that tree? Goodness. You and Cameron continue to amaze me. 🧡
Oh, my, so glad they are safe. That would be terrifying, indeed.
did he jump with some kind of harness or comepletely free of harnes.. I have wondered if all the rocks causes trees to have less roots. But he says disease. Be careful Nick and Cameron. It's amazing to watch you both work. You are both worth your weight in gold. Sending positive vibes.
Thank heavens for Nick and Cameron. Keeping everyone safe from falling trees.
It was so nice to get a look at Cameron and to hear him speak - it happens so infrequently! He’s a keeper!
… tou can são that again …😉
The handsome young viking!!
Nick, Kirstie and Cameron are the unsung heroes of La Lande!!❤
Indeed, they are, along with the rest of the Garden Crew, Nattie, and Amaury.
Wendy with the tip of the day. That's a good one. Going to save lots of peoples furniture.
Well done Nick and Cameron, you guys are worth your weight in gold. i water stained. and sanded a dent in... had i known this trick.. will still try it.
Looks like a tornado went through your woods! So glad Mr. Nick is hired to take care of these things!

Thank God you're alright Nick! Your a master at what you do, and it's one of the most dangerous jobs there is. ❤👍🍻
I adore Nick!! He's doing such an important and crucial work!! A true hero!!
By the bye, it is So good to see Hanni around the place, with her wonderful, all-conquering sort of contribution to chateau proceedings. 😄😊
What a treasure Nick and Cameron are!
Why does Nick look fresher and younger? Plus, I understand every word he says. He is such a pro, and so fun to watch.
Grab some moss from the forest and put it in a blender with some soot and some non pasteurised milk of yogurt and paint it onto the stone. In a few weeks it will be mossy and darker.
Nick continues to amaze me with his knowledge of botany. And Cameron is such a good work companion. They know.
Nick is a blessing. Love the team with Cameron. Enjoyed whenever I got to chat with them.
Marie should use all that cut-down evergreen to make garlands! Woot woot!
Thanking the same thing!
Those trees can be so scary! I am glad that Nick and Cameron are ok. We have Ash trees that are in that condition here in the US. We have had to cut alot of them in our woods. Well said!

I am really enjoying the style you are using in capturing all different aspects of the chateau. It is a pleasure to watch ❤❤❤❤
Thank God you got Nick and Cameron to help with those trees. That was another lovely meal. The table looks amazing. Wendy, that is awesome. ❤
It’s amazing to watch someone master their craft like Nick has. Truly gifted at managing forest
Wood with fugal markings running through it is prized by woodworkers. I wonder if Amaury could do something interesting with it.
Yes, it’s called ‘Spalted’ wood.
I was thinking the same!
Praying for continued safety for Nick and Cameron….and all.
Nick is truly a blessing.❤
Well done to Nick and Cameron !!🌲🌳
Nick and Cameron would be good value to have around after a storm with their knowledge of forest, trees, etc.
Nick and Cameron, be safe. ♥
I might be late to the party with this but how amazing is Kirsty looking!
Thank goodness Nick is always safety conscious.
Here in the US we heard that France had experienced 80 mph winds. You had very severe turbo wind-sheer - amazing what mother nature’s force can shift. So glad no buildings were damaged or no one was hurt.
Nick and Cameron are hard workers!!!! Love when they are helping the extended family Dan. Marie is doing a great job cooking.
Just caught the end , steph you are awesome keeping the lalande family alive and celebrating! With so many away ! Yes! You are the lady of the manor no doubt!
Nick and Cameron do a dangerous job. They deserve a prize each.
Great update on the tree work, glad the guys are safe. Just want to say how amazing Kirsty is looking! Love seeing everyone working together and eating meals together.
Praying for safety always, especially, Nick and teammate. 🙏🙏
It’s just fascinating watching Nick in action !
Perhaps it would be good Stephanie to stay away from people when you have such a bad cold
Thank God Nick, Cameron and everyone else is safe from the falling trees and felling the trees.
Love from Mary in Southern California
💗🤗
A lovely variety of things happening today. Be well all of you.
Love to see Nick at work
well done Nic and Cameron. amazing job

wow! i’m impressed with the restoration method used on the dining table.
looks great!
It’s so good to see Hanni back
i love her energy and her cute hair do..
She just makes you smile doesn’t she. Love her energy
@@ednaregina5379 Is she an attorney? I forgot what her profession is
From the scary woods to the cozy comfort of warm soup and leftovers in the kitchen, LaLande has wonderful stories to tell. Thanks for sharing. 🌺
You may be able to darken the fountain with tea. Billy did it for some tiles to make them look more aged. 😍
i would think there are stains., she did want mossy look. surely it is too cold
Tea would wash off as it will be outdoors. Runny acrylic artist paints mixed to match fountain centre uprights, and then wiped off with a rag, should do it though.
or plaster the whole thing with a nice colored lime mortar.
That hollow log would make beautiful planters for spring!
I see them cut trees all the way down and think how gorgeous those stumps would be with huge flower bowls on top cascading down (sigh)
Great job on the table, warm greetings to Stephanie and friends at Lalande… 🎉
How clever of Wendy to restore your table that way 👏👏👏 I’m going to share the trick with my mum as she has a mark on her dining room table that has been bothering her for ages and this may help 😀
Nick and Cameron.......brave and fearless 🥰Sandi x

Those guys are amazing arborists, so great to watch them work,,, the grounds will look amazing
Nick is just a blessing to have as a worker and friend! He sure knows his trade. ❤
Looking at those mossy tree logs coming down I imagined a lot of table scapes that Philip and Marie could do

Great table restoring trick. Thanks Wendy. I have seen restores use irons to reactivate glue on veneers as well.

I always enjoy your dialogs with Nick, he always manages to teach me something.
I just LOVE watching your videos and your life in the chateau with all your friends. It helps me escape for a few minutes and live this dream life ..
I was shocked at the way the trees exploded like that and at the dinning table. It looked amazing. X
That hat really suits Cameron.
"That's why it's called Thanksgiving." That just makes me laugh every time i see it. 😂
I see a lot of evergreen boughs for decorating. Nick and Cameron are super heroes! ❤🌲❤️
Nick you always seem to amaze me. Take care.
That tree trunk is great to throw in the forest for the animals to hide in winter.

Wow those trees! Be safe Nick and Cameron. Food that keeps on giving ❤
So glad Nick is ok. That is scary!
Hope everyone had safe and lovely holiday. Wonderful leftovers. friends, and family.
Wow! Another fantastic episode. So many great segments but that tree-felling was spectacular. Fabulous editing and fun music.
Great job with the table!
So glad no one was hurt when the trees fell. Can't wait to see the new fountain.
Glad Nick and Cameron are ok 🙏 Love the Laplande surfing 🏄♀️ 😂
