Dear friend and brother the bike looks amazing - love the frame and all of the engine conditions indeed very much mint ..!! God bless you daily dear friend and brother. !!
thanx for another informative video,im just getting in to restoring bikes, just got 1972 ct1 and a 1974 ts250 savage, you sure are a great help.thanx again.
Wow, two nice bikes, you are going to enjoy the restoration of both of them. I have a 72 CT-2, and the 75 TS250 both of which are almost complete. Sure, hope you can find some good info in the videos. Thanks for hanging out in the shop with me.
Bench test tricks 👍🏻 oil syringe seems like a good idea with the old two strokes. Pump failure seems like a common issue 22:14 💨💨💨👏 love that sound. Beeep beep.lol. Inspiring content. Thanks for the tip on the gaskets, looks like the same carb on my Suzuki. Cheers🎉
Thanks Vinny, yes, the syringe is a cheap and easy way to store and purge in the short term. Yes, they are the same gaskets. I really like the sound of the two stroke engines. The smell......perfect. Thanks buddy!
@@davidleland8729 Sorry to hear that, I am sure it is hard to deal with not being in the shop environment. I know I would miss it greatly, as I know you are. Hope things get better for you and hoping you can get back to at least some tinkering.
Dale, what paint and color did you use on the side covers and fender. Most paints that I come across are too dark of a gray or they are silver. Thanks for videos. Great content.
The side cases I use the Rust-oleum, high heat silver 7716, coated with Rust-oleum semi-gloss clear. The fenders I use a custom mix silver poly Omni AU (MAE) 12UWA9824 it is a GM color. Your local automotive paint store can mix it for you.
Hi Bill, it could be several things, first, they will leak a bit where the exhaust pipe meets the cylinder. They are a two-stroke engine so there will be some oil. You can put a new rope seal in the pipe flange groove to seal it up, and a new flange gasket. These are still available from Yamaha. Or if it is truly excess oil, more than likely the crankshaft oil seal on the right side is sucking oil from the transmission oil reservoir. They are available from Yamaha also, and not too difficult to change I have done many videos on changing these. Another thing to check is the oil pump output. I have also done a video on this, make sure all the cables are adjusted properly before doing that test or it will not do any good. Pickup a good manual if you don't have one already to make those adjustments. Hope I have been of some help. Thanks for spending time with me in the shop.
Hi, I see the Suzuki Shaolin is a two stroke, I have never seen one, but I am sure an oil pump adjustment would help to keep it from smoking quite so much. Also, you may need to clean the exhaust pipes and mufflers out they may have some excess oil in them. As always be sure to run a quality 2 stroke oil in the injection system. Wish I could be more specific on what is the issue, but I have never seen one of these bikes, but generally all two strokes operate the same and have the same problems or issues. Thanks for watching my channel hope I have been some help.
I am sorry it has been way to long since I had a HT-1 or an LT-1 a part. My thought is no, I think the stroke is different, it is the same on the AT-1 and the CT-1. Not sure if the bolt pattern is different or not. Thanks for stopping by the channel.
A very sweet runner Dale. The carburettor fiasco is very relatable. They do love to leak.
Best wishes, Dean.
Thanks Dean, I can't believe the explosion of fuel that came out of that thing. Only when the camera is on.
The bike sounds fantastic ..!!
Hi Dale, Thanks for another great video. Really enjoy watching all your videos. The bike looks great!
Thanks Ron, I am enjoying making them, waiting on the weather to paint. I am ready to have some color on them.

Well done, Dale! What cross-section did you use for the new wires? Thank you :)
Hi thanks, not sure what you mean by cross-section. Thanks buddy.
@@montana2strokeracer The wire. 1 mm, 1,5 mm?
@@Knatter2T Oh I see, I go by gauge, I'm using 16-gauge wire, google says that is .050 inches or 1.3 mm.

Should the idle be on the carburetor where it shows at 1.5 rpm’s Sir.?
That sounds about right.
