this pandemic is a nightmare and possibly the WORST thing for teachers... schools aren't saying forget it parents have to teach their kids,, teachers are having to put their lessons online and they have to handle all of their students they get throughout the day (100-200 depending on the school) in one day... they feel bad because their kids aren't getting the education they need,, why on earth would you think this is good for them?

@@heyyall9378 The way common core is actually taught in public schools, it is being used to replace the old way of doing math. Kids are FORCED to draw diagrams to prove a simple math fact that we were made to memorize. Common core really is the long way around in doing math.
Yeah common core math is like the people were on LSD when they thought it up. I do advanced plane analytical geometry for fun so I'm a pretty fair judge on it. I've always homeschooled my kids so I go old school math all the way through calculus and they do just fine, better actually than the local HS grads.
Common core is teaching kids how numbers relate to each other instead of filling out a form. When I was in college, I tutored algebra and statistics. The students who were taught common core had a lot less trouble with the mathematical thinking required in late high school/college level math.

Homeschooling was/is way different from quarantine schooling. I grew up in a family of 8 kids and we didn't do co-op. But we did schooling that was unique to each one of us. We were able to sing in a homeschool choir and go on choir tours to different states and a bunch of different places in our home state. We sang at nursing homes/assisted living places, community events, military bases and events as well as private gatherings and talent shows. We did a lot in the community as a family as well. Co-ops, in homeschooling are good because it gives the parents a breather and allows the sharing of common experiences with parents and children of other homeschool families. Homeschooling is also very flexible. I loved it! My mother was an awesome teacher, I just didn't like learning in the traditional sense so ended up teaching myself a lot. But my Mother was totally awesome and still is! The only public schooling I have ever done is what I am doing in college and the experience there, I think, isn't even as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Homeschooling also allows the children to be raised to think and make decisions early on their own which is a really good thing.
I don't have to do homeschooling, but why I sent my 2 daughters a care package from Spec's-a liquor store here in Texas. Yes, that's an essential business here.
Granny's Institute of Shellin' Peas was great. It taught you to appreciate things, or at least that such a thing was possible. It was done sitting on the front porch, watching the world pass by, and exchanging friendly words with your neighbors. Honest.
This is truly a chance to give your kids wisdom, God's true knowledge. Read Bible history of why plagues happen, Who our protection comes from, and what He expects us to do in this plague. Study the Passover! Teach your kids sin= breaking God's Laws; and punishment/JUDGEMENTS will happen to turn us back.
This is hilarious! What blows my mind though, I am a parent who homeschooled 3 kids back in the 80's - 90's (one all the way through high school and 2 through 7th/8th grade), so I offered to do a free Zoom call to help elementary school parents who have been forced into homeschooling. NO ONE took me up on a free training. I guess everyone already knows how to homeschool...
Schools in my county are shut down entirely. There is no online learning or anything. Likely the kids will be out until August and unfortunately, all will get an automatic advancement to the next grade. Some kids who aren't ready for the next year will suffer. The classes had fun when appropriate, but the end game IS education and teaching is not for the faint of heart. It's rewarding and frustrating and heartwarming and heartbreaking. All the teaching and classroom management strategies are fine, but YOU are the one who has to command the classroom. Some parents will support you. Others will do their best to undermine you--sometimes for reasons that make no sense. So, be choosy in accepting a contract. Research the district as carefully as they are supposed to research you. Find out everything you can about the site to which you will be assigned before you ever set foot on the grounds. Good luck to you.
One MercilessMing Thank you, and bless you for teaching that long.
@@maroonspider50--I loved what I did. The kids were great. I hated the conditions under which I was supposed to teach in the district. The parents were problematic, as their community organizers were forever stirring up issues. I wish you well and thank you for the kind words.
This is currently me with my little brothers !! I only get 30 min of me time !! My parents paid me to be the teacher so i cant complain !! 😂😂
Haha looks like i am the one that needs the english class 😂
You get PAID!!!

These are great. Welcome to what your kid's(') teacher goes through everyday till Summer Vacation then multiply it by 20. Same for your tutor.
My favorite part was when he said, "Y'all better start praying to Jesus right now; I mean if he could feed 5000 with a few loaves of bread and a couple of fish, then He can do anything." That was amazing! GOD Bless, y'all!!
"History? There's a whole channel on that! What are y'all kids learning? Ice Road Truckers or Pawn Stars?"
As a homeschooling mom, I always find it astounding the questions my relatives ask. They're stunned when I say to throw the schedule out the window. Just make a list of what needs to be done and do it as you can. To us schedules are limiting and they suck all the fun out of sneaking into the kitchen for snacks and playing in the yard or pulling out games as a reward for finishing subjects.
I’m a teacher , and to be honest , part of me is loving the home schooling ! The parents can see what we have to deal with ! Your child is not an angel at school sir , I can tell you that! not that I need , because you are the one teaching him now !
"Institute of higher whoopings and shelling peas" bruh😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am a homeschooler. The world once laughed at me. Now they beg for advice. Mwahahahahaha
“Grannies institute of higher whippings and shelling peas” Hilarious 😂
I remember shelling peas for my mom. It wasn’t a punishment, it just had to be done.
Yep. I never liked shelling peas or Lima beans. Green bean and corn shucking wasnt so bad. I hated picking okra and peeling tomatoes.
And peeling peaches. And snapping beans. And shucking corn. Ah, the good ole bad ole days.
I remember shucking corn for my grandma.
Matt is an entire mood! 🤣🤣🤣 And as a sub, yes they made math so ass backwards that my "old method" got my students through it and saved me from a headache!
Thank the Lord I am already home schooled and have been for 5 years now!! It is soo much more relaxing!!! And It helps the parents tune into what their kids are learning!
When they said Alexa my alexa went off
@K!ngS!ze f you have any of these devices in you're home (or other private space) you are sheeple
Y'all should do a Kevin and Diana homeschool their kids🤣🤣🤣
Well the are both quarantined so that would be pretty hard to film
@@calliejenkins3166 Yes, you do have a point that I didn't think about but they are getting really creative and they could film parts separately and put them together as if they were in the same house.
Oh, by all means PLEASE!

This plague is the best thing for teachers ever they deserve so much more than what they get (couse parents get how hard it is now. they hopefully will understand when teachers ask for the raise they deserve)
this pandemic is a nightmare and possibly the WORST thing for teachers... schools aren't saying forget it parents have to teach their kids,, teachers are having to put their lessons online and they have to handle all of their students they get throughout the day (100-200 depending on the school) in one day... they feel bad because their kids aren't getting the education they need,, why on earth would you think this is good for them?
Bellator Tonitri Honestly I hope schools will start paying teachers more but who knows...
@@joy5976 because, parents who were previously unaware of how difficult it is to teach kids will understand why teachers should be paid more and don't forget politicians have kids too.... They will hopefully be more thankful for the teachers
@@joy5976 I think what she was getting at is that after having kids home and trying to get through helping them with school work, that teachers deserve more than what they get paid for. That teaching is not an easy job.
@@darci1410 thank you for clarifying but I'm a boy bellator tonitri is Latin for warrior of thunder but I understand why you got confused don't worry
As someone with an engineering degree I'm laughing over everyone who is puzzled over y'alls kids maths
Have you ever seen common core math? That crap is no laughing matter! 👎👎😭😭😢
Rivka almost all home school kids do better than public school children
Common core is teaching kids how numbers relate to each other instead of filling out a form. When I was in college, I tutored algebra and statistics. The students who were taught common core had a lot less trouble with the mathematical thinking required in late high school/college level math.
As a former Homeschooler 😂 I'm LOVING THIS! LoL Bob Ross was my 🖌Art teacher TOO!!! 😆😆😆

I can't believe no one is talking about the magical Dropped Food on the Floor sign at 0:23 - I totally need that.
Stay away from my little Debbie's
That's my momma! She got in a fight with my teacher because we didn't realize she had posted something. Practically the southerners always win. My teacher is a military woman, not southern so it was interesting. But she did say that 'bout "Math? Ha, Y'all better go pray to God!"
I was a tutor for 3 years. So yeah, I’m nailing that home school thing
I am soooo glad my kid is grown and out of school! 🤗👍🏼
"Grannie's Institution of Higher Whoopin's and Shellin' Peas"
Glad to know I'm not the only graduate of that fine house of learning...
I teach HS. Maybe the parents will have a better idea of just how hard it is. LOL.
That's the problem. It is not that hard to teach. The biggest problems are behavior and paperwork related.
I don’t know. I have kids in high school middle school and elementary school and the only child I need to help with homeschooling now is the elementary kid. My older kids are doing well on their own so I think most parents of older kids are letting them be but the elementary parents are on the struggle bus with the homeschooling. But I feel ya, I can’t imagine how hard teaching kids in high school is!! That’s a lot of attitude I’m sure. My high schoolers tell me stories and it sounds crazy!!

Some of us were ALREADY Homeschooling. 😉
I love Matt ... That's my kind of teaching ... Especially long division
PS Thanks all of you made me laugh ... We need more laughter in our lives these days ... It was a great video 😇
Star Trek is a subject... My homeschool friends and I play Minecraft as a subject!
Lol so true yall did good 😂😂my mom right now
"Higher whoopin's and shellin peas"
Lawd a mercy anything but that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Granny's Institute of Shellin' Peas was great. It taught you to appreciate things, or at least that such a thing was possible. It was done sitting on the front porch, watching the world pass by, and exchanging friendly words with your neighbors. Honest.
As a homeschooler myself taking online classes, I'm pretty much quarantined in my bedroom.
Ok Mary sounds just like my mom
Some days I call my friends and say help too. Homeschool moms we so get this.

All these people now doing homeschool lmao been doin it my whole life
Andrew Berman Why are you homeschooled?
Rhoda Watkins because public schools near me are horrible
"y'all just need to start praying to Jesus now" 🤣
This is hilarious!
Concerning Math......I've never had to find an ex.
Quarantine homeschool is a much higher level of homeschooling. Yes....Jesus knew his learning and especially long division. Get to it!!!
Well, you can always do something. There are a ton of resources online that you can use. Something, nearly anything, is better than nothing.
